communion_n with_o he_o and_o yet_o at_o the_o same_o time_n you_o may_v fear_v this_o enemy_n that_o stand_v in_o your_o way_n i_o mean_v not_o only_o the_o pain_n of_o death_n but_o principal_o the_o dissolution_n of_o our_o nature_n and_o the_o separation_n of_o the_o soul_n from_o the_o body_n and_o its_o abode_n in_o a_o separate_a state_n and_o the_o body_n abode_n in_o dust_n and_o darkness_n grace_n itself_o be_v not_o give_v we_o to_o reconcile_v we_o to_o corruption_n and_o make_v death_n as_o death_n to_o seem_v desirable_a but_o to_o cause_v we_o patient_o to_o bear_v the_o evil_a because_o of_o the_o good_a that_o be_v beyond_o it_o it_o be_v not_o our_o duty_n to_o love_v death_n as_o death_n have_v it_o not_o be_v natural_o a_o evil_a to_o be_v dread_v and_o avoid_v god_n will_v not_o have_v make_v it_o the_o matter_n of_o his_o threaten_n nor_o will_v it_o have_v be_v a_o fit_a mean_n to_o restrain_v man_n from_o transgression_n to_o threaten_v a_o man_n with_o a_o benefit_n as_o such_o be_v a_o contradiction_n inquire_v therefore_o into_o your_o heart_n whether_o there_o be_v not_o a_o belief_n of_o heaven_n a_o love_n to_o god_n a_o desire_n to_o enjoy_v and_o please_v he_o even_o while_o you_o draw_v back_o and_o seem_v to_o be_v averse_a and_o whether_o it_o be_v not_o only_a lothness_n to_o die_v and_o not_o a_o lothness_n to_o be_v with_o christ_n for_o the_o full_a discovery_n of_o this_o because_o i_o find_v that_o our_o comfort_n much_o depend_v on_o it_o i_o shall_v try_v you_o by_o these_o follow_a question_n quest_n 1._o what_o be_v it_o that_o be_v ungrateful_a to_o you_o in_o your_o meditation_n of_o your_o change_n be_v it_o god_n and_o heaven_n or_o be_v it_o death_n if_o it_o be_v only_a death_n it_o seem_v it_o be_v not_o the_o want_n of_o love_n to_o god_n and_o heaven_n that_o cause_v your_o averseness_n if_o it_o be_v god_n himself_o that_o be_v ungrateful_a to_o your_o thought_n be_v it_o because_o you_o desire_v not_o his_o near_a presence_n or_o communion_n with_o he_o in_o the_o state_n of_o glory_n or_o be_v it_o only_o because_o you_o fear_v lest_o you_o have_v no_o interest_n in_o his_o love_n and_o shall_v not_o attain_v the_o blessedness_n which_o you_o desire_v if_o it_o be_v the_o first_o i_o must_v confess_v it_o prove_v a_o graceless_a soul_n and_o signify_v the_o want_n of_o love_n to_o god_n but_o if_o it_o be_v the_o latter_a only_o it_o may_v stand_v with_o grace_n for_o desire_n be_v a_o true_a signification_n of_o love_n though_o there_o be_v doubt_n and_o fear_n lest_o we_o shall_v miss_v the_o attainment_n of_o those_o desire_n quest_n 2._o will_v you_o not_o glad_o hear_v the_o news_n of_o your_o removal_n if_o you_o may_v be_v change_v without_o death_n and_o translate_v to_o heaven_n as_o henoch_n and_o elias_n be_v and_o as_o christ_n at_o his_o ascension_n have_v you_o not_o far_o rather_o be_v thus_o change_v then_o abide_v on_o earth_n if_o so_o than_o it_o seem_v it_o be_v not_o god_n and_o heaven_n that_o you_o be_v against_o but_o death_n nay_o if_o you_o can_v reach_v heaven_n by_o travel_v a_o thousand_o mile_n will_v you_o not_o glad_o take_v tâ—e_v journey_n as_o soon_o as_o you_o have_v get_v assurance_n of_o your_o title_n to_o it_o and_o do_v the_o work_n of_o god_n on_o earth_n if_o it_o be_v but_o as_o peter_n james_n and_o john_n to_o go_v with_o christ_n into_o a_o exceed_a high_a mountain_n and_o there_o to_o see_v he_o in_o glory_n mat._n 17.12_o will_v you_o not_o gad_o do_v it_o it_o seem_v then_o that_o thou_o desire_v to_o see_v the_o lord_n and_o thy_o love_n be_v to_o he_o though_o thou_o be_v afraid_a of_o death_n quest_n 3._o consider_v of_o the_o nature_n of_o the_o heavenly_a felicity_n and_o try_v whether_o thou_o thou_o be_v averse_a from_o and_o that_o make_v thou_o so_o loath_a to_o hear_v the_o tiding_n of_o thy_o change_n quest_n 4._o can_v thou_o not_o joyful_o see_v the_o come_n of_o christ_n if_o it_o for_o eternity_n it_o be_v fit_a that_o god_n be_v serve_v before_o we_o and_o that_o heaven_n have_v the_o best_a and_o that_o be_v leave_v on_o earth_n that_o be_v earthly_a must_v heaven_n be_v deprive_v of_o its_o inhabitant_n must_v a_o saint_n that_o be_v ripe_a be_v keep_v from_o christ_n and_o so_o long_o keep_v from_o his_o inheritance_n from_o the_o company_n of_o angel_n and_o the_o face_n of_o god_n and_o all_o lest_o we_o shall_v be_v displease_v and_o grudge_v at_o god_n for_o glorify_v those_o who_o he_o destinate_a to_o glory_n before_o the_o foundation_n of_o the_o world_n and_o who_o he_o purchase_v and_o prepare_v for_o glory_n must_v there_o a_o place_n be_v empty_a and_o a_o voice_n be_v want_v in_o the_o heavenly_a chore_n lest_o we_o shall_v miss_v our_o friend_n on_o earth_n be_v we_o not_o haste_v after_o they_o at_o the_o heel_n and_o do_v we_o not_o hope_v to_o live_v with_o they_o for_o ever_o and_o shall_v we_o grudge_v that_o they_o be_v go_v a_o day_n sorrow_n and_o lamentation_n o_o do_v we_o but_o see_v these_o bless_a soul_n and_o where_o they_o be_v and_o what_o they_o be_v enjoy_v and_o what_o they_o be_v do_v we_o shall_v be_v ashamed_a to_o mourn_v thus_o for_o their_o change_n do_v you_o think_v they_o will_v wish_v themselves_o again_o on_o earth_n or_o will_v they_o take_v it_o kind_o of_o you_o if_o you_o can_v bring_v they_o down_o your_o soul_n will_v never_o find_v repose_n nor_o satisfy_a quietness_n and_o content_n but_o in_o the_o will_n of_o god_n let_v we_o therefore_o commit_v our_o soul_n to_o he_o as_o to_o a_o faithful_a creator_n and_o desire_v unfeigned_o the_o fulfil_n of_o his_o will_n and_o believe_v that_o there_o be_v no_o ground_n of_o confidence_n more_o firm_a abraham_n may_v bold_o trust_v his_o
