god_n have_v promise_v to_o abraham_n four_o hundred_o and_o thirty_o year_n before_o ever_o they_o do_v enjoy_v it_o and_o it_o be_v call_v in_o the_o hebrew_n a_o land_n of_o desire_n or_o a_o the_o original_a word_n proper_o signify_v now_o consider_v this_o land_n of_o canaan_n here_o which_o they_o despise_v in_o a_o twofold_a notion_n first_o as_o it_o be_v a_o earthly_a possession_n second_o as_o it_o be_v a_o type_n or_o pledge_v or_o earnest-penny_n of_o that_o heavenly_a inheritance_n lay_v up_o for_o the_o saint_n in_o light_n and_o you_o shall_v see_v in_o both_o these_o respect_n their_o despise_v this_o land_n be_v horrible_a ingratitude_n first_o consider_v it_o in_o the_o first_o notion_n namely_o as_o it_o be_v a_o earthly_a possession_n it_o be_v very_o great_a ingratitude_n but_o consider_v it_o in_o the_o second_o notion_n namely_o as_o it_o be_v a_o pledge_n and_o earnest-penny_n of_o the_o heavenly_a inheritance_n so_o it_o be_v a_o far_o great_a ingratitude_n take_v it_o in_o the_o first_o notion_n for_o a_o earthly_a possession_n so_o the_o doctrine_n you_o may_v observe_v from_o thence_o be_v this_o doct._n that_o despise_v or_o undervalue_v of_o those_o outward_a blessing_n and_o favour_n that_o god_n bestow_v upon_o a_o people_n be_v a_o god-provoking_a sin_n a_o sin_n of_o great_a ingratitude_n this_o you_o see_v be_v bestow_v his_o favour_n upon_o those_o that_o be_v unthankful_a at_o least_o he_o will_v not_o bestow_v they_o in_o mercy_n he_o sometime_o give_v these_o outward_a blessing_n in_o anger_n i_o give_v lift_v up_o to_o heaven_n in_o mercy_n in_o the_o use_n of_o ordinance_n i_o believe_v there_o be_v not_o such_o a_o place_n under_o the_o heaven_n of_o god_n not_o such_o a_o city_n that_o have_v such_o plentiful_a provision_n both_o for_o soul_n and_o body_n as_o we_o have_v but_o have_v we_o walk_v worthy_a of_o the_o lord_n unto_o all_o well-pleasing_a have_v we_o live_v up_o to_o our_o light_n under_o our_o mean_n under_o our_o mercy_n have_v we_o thankful_o prize_v and_o improve_v these_o national_a privilege_n and_o blessing_n that_o we_o enjoy_v no_o no_o god_n know_v and_o our_o this_o be_v a_o certain_a truth_n that_o they_o that_o do_v the_o will_n of_o god_n shall_v not_o only_o know_v more_o of_o god_n
