give_v we_o salvation_n until_o we_o through_o grace_n have_v perform_v the_o command_a duty_n of_o faith_n there_o want_v nothing_o to_o make_v our_o actual_a faith_n to_o be_v a_o condition_n and_o the_o connexion_n between_o the_o duty_n of_o faith_n and_o the_o blessing_n of_o salvation_n to_o be_v a_o conditional_a connexion_n two_o though_o i_o do_v not_o say_v that_o mr._n g._n be_v a_o autinomian_n by_o his_o principle_n yet_o i_o must_v say_v that_o what_o he_o assert_v to_o be_v the_o full_a import_n and_o meaning_n of_o the_o foresay_a scripture_n do_v not_o seem_v sufficient_a to_o secure_v man_n from_o real_a antinomianism_n because_o a_o man_n may_v possible_o assert_v all_o this_o which_o he_o here_o assert_n and_o yet_o may_v not_o only_o be_v like_o a_o antinomian_a but_o may_v be_v a_o most_o real_a antinomian_n to_o make_v this_o appear_v consider_v 1._o that_o it_o be_v possible_a and_o imply_v no_o contradiction_n for_o a_o man_n to_o be_v so_o drink_v with_o error_n as_o to_o persuade_v himself_o that_o faith_n repentance_n and_o holiness_n be_v indeed_o blessing_n which_o god_n give_v to_o man_n but_o that_o they_o be_v no_o duty_n require_v of_o men._n mr._n goodwin_n will_v make_v he_o believe_v that_o they_o be_v no_o duty_n require_v by_o the_o gospel_n and_o he_o may_v by_o the_o help_n of_o the_o devil_n make_v himself_o believe_v that_o as_o they_o be_v not_o duty_n require_v by_o the_o gospel_n so_o they_o be_v no_o duty_n require_v of_o he_o by_o the_o law_n and_o he_o may_v ground_v his_o false_a persuasion_n upon_o a_o false_a interpretation_n of_o rom._n 6.14_o you_o be_v not_o under_o the_o law_n but_o under_o grace_n consider_v 2._o that_o the_o man_n be_v certain_o a_o most_o real_a antinomian_n if_o he_o be_v once_o of_o this_o persuasion_n that_o he_o be_v not_o bind_v either_o by_o law_n or_o gospel_n to_o believe_v in_o christ_n to_o repent_v of_o his_o sin_n and_o to_o lead_v a_o holy_a life_n but_o that_o will_v not_o deny_v but_o that_o such_o a_o man_n be_v not_o only_o like_a to_o the_o antinomian_a monster_n but_o that_o he_o real_o be_v a_o antinomian_a monster_n consider_v 3._o that_o this_o this_o antinomian_a may_v believe_v that_o though_o faith_n repentance_n and_o holiness_n be_v no_o duty_n require_v yet_o be_v blessing_n of_o the_o gospel_n which_o god_n give_v to_o his_o elect_a he_o justify_v and_o save_v no_o man_n but_o who_o at_o his_o own_o due_a appoint_a time_n he_o make_v a_o believer_n bring_v he_o to_o repentance_n and_o sanctify_v his_o nature_n 3._o upon_o this_o the_o antinomian_n may_v assert_v that_o there_o be_v a_o unchangeable_a connexion_n between_o faith_n repentance_n holiness_n and_o salvation_n as_o blessing_n of_o the_o gospel_n and_o that_o faith_n repentance_n and_o holiness_n be_v indissoluble_o fasten_v with_o pardon_n justification_n and_o eternal_a life_n in_o the_o same_o person_n all_o this_o the_o man_n may_v assert_v and_o yet_o be_v a_o antinomian_a still_o for_o he_o may_v still_o hold_v that_o faith_n repentance_n and_o holiness_n be_v blessing_n but_o no_o duty_n and_o that_o he_o be_v not_o oblige_v to_o they_o either_o by_o law_n or_o gospel_n from_o all_o which_o it_o appear_v not_o to_o be_v necessary_o true_a which_o mr._n g._n say_v to_o wit_n that_o whosoever_o assert_n this_o connexion_n of_o blessing_n be_v no_o antinomian_n nor_o so_o much_o as_o like_v to_o such_o a_o execrable_a monster_n for_o i_o have_v show_v plain_o that_o a_o man_n may_v assert_v this_o and_o yet_o be_v a_o most_o real_a antinomian_n and_o hold_n that_o he_o be_v oblige_v to_o no_o duty_n either_o by_o law_n or_o gospel_n but_o say_v mr._n goodain_a what!_o be_v holiness_n the_o condition_n of_o obtain_v the_o in_o the_o beatifical_a vision_n be_v not_o such_o a_o manner_n of_o speech_n ordinary_a among_o our_o protestant_a divine_v but_o i_o distinguish_v holiness_n be_v not_o a_o meritorious_a condition_n
