that_o they_o have_v make_v as_o they_o have_v make_v a_o law_n that_o people_n shall_v not_o go_v out_o of_o their_o parish_n they_o must_v every_o one_o hear_v his_o own_o minister_n though_o it_o may_v be_v he_o be_v a_o ignorant_a drunken_a dumb_a profane_a wretch_n and_o if_o they_o do_v not_o they_o be_v force_v and_o compel_v to_o do_v it_o belove_v this_o be_v not_o according_a to_o the_o choose_v man_n according_a to_o god_n own_o heart_n that_o will_v feed_v they_o with_o knowledge_n and_o understanding_n but_o such_o as_o the_o bishop_n send_v they_o must_v receive_v whether_o they_o be_v good_a or_o bad_a they_o must_v take_v they_o as_o they_o find_v they_o and_o those_o usual_o be_v either_o ignorant_a unlearned_a man_n or_o profane_a unsanctified_a man_n and_o these_o be_v send_v by_o they_o as_o lord_n and_o the_o people_n be_v force_v to_o receive_v they_o then_o fourthly_a in_o this_o government_n all_o the_o power_n which_o they_o have_v which_o they_o take_v all_o to_o themselves_o they_o exercise_v it_o only_o saint_n 4._o their_o power_n exercise_v against_o the_o saint_n almost_o against_o the_o saint_n and_o people_n of_o god_n either_o as_o schismatic_n or_o lolâ—ards_n or_o heretic_n or_o puritan_n or_o the_o like_a either_o for_o do_v that_o that_o be_v good_a or_o for_o thing_n that_o be_v trifle_n according_a to_o their_o own_o judgement_n for_o do_v that_o which_o be_v good_a for_o fast_v and_o pray_v for_o meet_v to_o teach_v one_o another_o and_o to_o seek_v the_o lord_n these_o be_v call_v conventicle_n or_o for_o trifle_n that_o they_o in_o their_o conscience_n hold_v indifferent_a as_o the_o wear_n of_o the_o surplice_n and_o the_o cross_n in_o baptism_n they_o themselves_o say_v they_o be_v indifferent_a thing_n and_o trifle_n and_o yet_o man_n must_v be_v silence_v and_o people_n banish_v beyond_o sea_n for_o these_o thing_n this_o government_n we_o have_v have_v and_o there_o be_v little_a good_a news_n and_o glad_a tiding_n to_o the_o soul_n of_o the_o poor_a saint_n from_o all_o this_o pray_n 5._o restrain_v the_o spirit_n in_o preach_v &_o pray_n five_o they_o do_v restrain_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n in_o the_o saint_n both_o in_o preach_v and_o pray_v in_o preach_v the_o minister_n be_v tie_v they_o must_v preach_v such_o and_o not_o such_o thing_n and_o they_o must_v be_v in_o danger_n to_o be_v fine_v if_o they_o do_v not_o keep_v to_o the_o hour_n and_o for_o prayer_n when_o it_o may_v be_v the_o poor_a minister_n soul_n be_v full_a of_o groan_n and_o sigh_n and_o he_o will_v have_v rejoice_v to_o have_v pour_v out_o his_o soul_n to_o the_o lord_n he_o be_v tie_v to_o a_o old_a service-booke_n and_o must_v read_v that_o till_o he_o grieve_v the_o spirit_n of_o god_n and_o dry_v up_o his_o own_o spirit_n as_o a_o chip_n that_o he_o can_v not_o pray_v if_o he_o will_v and_o he_o must_v read_v it_o for_o a_o hour_n together_o and_o then_o it_o may_v be_v come_v into_o the_o pulpit_n but_o his_o spirit_n be_v go_v power_n 6._o their_o law_n back_v by_o secular_a power_n again_o they_o back_v all_o their_o law_n with_o the_o secular_a power_n and_o punnishment_n they_o never_o rest_v till_o they_o have_v twist_v their_o own_o law_n with_o the_o secular_a law_n the_o civil_a law_n of_o the_o land_n every_o law_n of_o they_o be_v steel_v and_o back_v with_o some_o civil_a severe_a law_n to_o confiscation_n of_o good_n or_o imprisonment_n or_o such_o a_o fine_a to_o the_o cut_n off_o of_o ear_n the_o slit_v of_o nose_n the_o burn_a of_o cheek_n to_o banishment_n yea_o to_o death_n itself_o as_o you_o know_v how_o many_o precious_a saint_n of_o god_n even_o by_o those_o that_o pretend_v the_o government_n of_o christ_n and_o his_o discipline_n be_v burn_v in_o smithfeild_n and_o how_o many_o suffer_v strange_a torment_n and_o punishment_n yet_o their_o persecutor_n pretend_v the_o discipline_n and_o government_n of_o christ_n i_o give_v you_o but_o a_o few_o instance_n these_o be_v the_o government_n we_o have_v have_v hitherto_o for_o thirteen_o or_o fourteen_o hundred_o year_n either_o from_o the_o pope_n or_o the_o bishop_n papacy_n or_o episcopacy_n and_o true_o belove_v there_o be_v not_o a_o title_n of_o good_a news_n or_o glad_a tiding_n to_o the_o heart_n of_o holy_a saint_n and_o tender_a conscience_n in_o shall_v have_v the_o lord_n know_v i_o know_v not_o but_o only_o thus_o much_o i_o say_v that_o what_o ever_o it_o will_v be_v if_o it_o be_v according_a to_o these_o strain_n that_o have_v be_v heretofore_o than_o i_o confess_v there_o will_v be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o heavy_a tiding_n and_o hard_a news_n even_o in_o the_o gospel_n of_o jesus_n christ_n if_o man_n call_v it_o gospel_n or_o any_o thing_n belong_v to_o it_o for_o my_o part_n as_o i_o be_o whole_o ignorant_a what_o government_n man_n will_v set_v up_o and_o call_v it_o christ_n right_a or_o wrong_v so_o i_o be_o not_o ignorant_a of_o the_o fear_n and_o jealousy_n that_o be_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o godly_a people_n of_o this_o and_o that_o thing_n but_o be_v sure_a if_o it_o be_v the_o government_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o his_o discipline_n there_o will_v be_v nothing_o but_o good_a news_n and_o glad_a tiding_n to_o the_o honest_a heart_n and_o tender_a conscience_n and_o if_o it_o be_v not_o such_o a_o government_n it_o be_v not_o of_o god_n for_o i_o have_v prove_v plain_o that_o there_o be_v nothing_o in_o the_o gospel_n of_o jesus_n christ_n but_o good_a news_n and_o glad_a tiding_n to_o the_o worst_a of_o sinner_n but_o if_o it_o be_v a_o government_n that_o i_o shall_v be_v compel_v against_o conscience_n and_o my_o good_n confiscate_v for_o this_o or_o that_o trifle_n this_o be_v not_o according_a to_o the_o gospel_n for_o there_o be_v none_o of_o these_o terrible_a thing_n in_o the_o gospel_n of_o christ_n it_o be_v all_o sweet_a news_n the_o two_o worst_a thing_n in_o the_o gospel_n good_a news_n i_o will_v give_v you_o but_o one_o instance_n and_o pass_v it_o over_o in_o the_o government_n of_o christ_n according_a to_o the_o scripture_n the_o two_o worst_a and_o harsh_a thing_n that_o you_o shall_v find_v there_o you_o shall_v see_v clear_o that_o they_o be_v good_a thing_n and_o good_a news_n for_o a_o poor_a christian_n to_o have_v they_o set_v up_o over_o his_o soul_n as_o first_o of_o all_o you_o know_v that_o in_o the_o gospel_n reproof_n 1._o reproof_n the_o government_n or_o discipline_n call_v it_o which_o may_v you_o will_n we_o find_v in_o some_o case_n that_o the_o lord_n jesus_n will_v have_v we_o not_o only_a comfort_n and_o exhort_v and_o teach_v one_o another_o but_o in_o some_o case_n he_o will_v have_v we_o reprove_v one_o another_o reproof_n benefit_n of_o gospel_n reproof_n and_o have_v our_o minister_n reprove_v we_o also_o but_o in_o love_n and_o tenderness_n this_o be_v one_o of_o the_o harsh_a thing_n and_o this_o if_o you_o look_v right_a on_o it_o with_o a_o spiritual_a eye_n true_o it_o be_v glad_a tiding_n for_o a_o poor_a saint_n when_o he_o have_v forget_v himself_o by_o the_o violence_n of_o some_o lust_n then_o for_o a_o sincere_a heart_a brother_n or_o sister_n in_o the_o spirit_n of_o meekness_n and_o love_n to_o reprove_v he_o and_o set_v his_o bone_n in_o joint_n you_o have_v some_o of_o you_o find_v in_o experience_n that_o a_o sweet_a and_o wise_a reproof_n have_v be_v as_o please_v to_o you_o as_o any_o sermon_n of_o consolation_n that_o ever_o you_o hear_v and_o therefore_o you_o see_v in_o scripture_n how_o the_o lord_n set_v down_o reproof_n that_o you_o may_v not_o be_v afraid_a of_o it_o levit._n 19.17_o he_o tell_v you_o that_o reproof_n be_v a_o argument_n of_o love_n comfort_n that_o i_o be_o near_o and_o the_o door_n be_v open_a though_o i_o be_v not_o a_o siant_a i_o be_o a_o sinner_n and_o if_o i_o have_v no_o real_a interest_n in_o christ_n as_o a_o saint_n yet_o i_o have_v interest_n in_o the_o promise_n of_o christ_n as_o a_o sinner_n and_o though_o i_o can_v serve_v god_n cheerful_o as_o a_o saint_n yet_o i_o will_v serve_v god_n as_o comfortable_o as_o i_o can_v as_o one_o that_o may_v be_v a_o saint_n in_o matth._n 13._o it_o be_v say_v of_o the_o merchant_n man_n he_o find_v the_o field_n wherein_o be_v the_o treasure_n he_o rejoice_v i_o remember_v a_o worthy_a man_n of_o this_o country_n he_o say_v he_o rejoice_v not_o that_o he_o have_v find_v the_o pearl_n the_o treasure_n but_o he_o rejoice_v that_o he_o be_v come_v near_o a_o mislearne_v the_o first_o principle_n of_o religion_n of_o which_o this_o be_v the_o great_a they_o will_v never_o do_v any_o thing_n for_o god_n but_o when_o they_o be_v assure_v of_o their_o salvation_n if_o there_o be_v the_o least_o doubt_n that_o the_o work_n of_o grace_n be_v not_o right_a they_o mope_v and_o will_v do_v nothing_o for_o god_n but_o vex_v and_o fret_v and_o tug_v and_o when_o their_o qualification_n be_v go_v that_o they_o build_v on_o than_o they_o think_v they_o be_v hypocrite_n and_o damn_a creature_n and_o god_n shall_v have_v no_o service_n from_o they_o when_o other_o people_n that_o it_o may_v be_v have_v not_o full_o assurance_n they_o be_v saint_n not_o one_o day_n of_o three_o in_o the_o whole_a year_n yet_o there_o be_v a_o current_n and_o stream_n of_o obedience_n and_o love_n and_o delight_n in_o god_n in_o some_o measure_n and_o they_o go_v on_o constant_o though_o not_o so_o strong_o do_v and_o suffer_v his_o holy_a will_n why_o because_o
