have_v the_o world_n wealth_n every_o thing_n that_o be_v great_a good_a and_o desirable_a in_o it_o and_o lose_v his_o soul_n all_o that_o he_o have_v can_v make_v he_o satisfaction_n or_o repair_v his_o damage_n what_o therefore_o shall_v be_v every_o man_n study_n so_o much_o as_o to_o provide_v for_o the_o after_o state_n of_o his_o soul_n to_o read_v and_o ponder_v the_o way_n and_o mean_v he_o must_v use_v to_o prepare_v his_o soul_n for_o the_o embrace_n of_o the_o father_n of_o spirit_n how_o melancholy_a soever_o man_n may_v think_v it_o be_v to_o fill_v their_o mind_n with_o the_o thought_n of_o death_n judgement_n and_o eternity_n yet_o when_o they_o come_v to_o die_v they_o will_v earnest_o wish_v themselves_o well_o provide_v for_o their_o voyage_n into_o another_o world_n let_v they_o therefore_o lose_v no_o time_n in_o health_n but_o read_v diligent_o meditate_v serious_o and_o practice_v conscionable_o the_o word_n of_o god_n which_o by_o divine_a grace_n and_o brethren_n hear_v not_o moses_n and_o the_o prophet_n neither_o will_v they_o be_v persuade_v though_o one_o rise_v from_o the_o dead_a if_o the_o stand_a revelation_n of_o god_n so_o well_o attest_v be_v not_o sufficient_a to_o confute_v they_o of_o their_o error_n and_o bring_v they_o to_o right_n in_o all_o probability_n they_o will_v be_v as_o stubborn_a and_o inflexible_a if_o god_n shall_v work_v a_o special_a miracle_n in_o order_n to_o their_o conversion_n as_o for_o instance_n if_o he_o shall_v dispatch_v a_o decease_a soul_n and_o charge_v it_o to_o testify_v unto_o they_o that_o if_o they_o will_v not_o forsake_v their_o debauchery_n and_o exert_v new_a and_o virtuous_a habit_n they_o shall_v certain_o fall_v as_o so_o many_o victim_n to_o his_o vengeance_n there_o be_v hardly_o any_o passage_n in_o scripture_n which_o more_o assert_v the_o stubbornness_n and_o inflexibleness_n of_o sinner_n heart_n than_o this_o nor_o any_o text_n that_o look_v more_o dismal_o upon_o person_n sit_v under_o the_o mean_n of_o grace_n read_v and_o hear_v the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o yet_o perceive_v not_o their_o heart_n soften_v and_o bring_v to_o yield_v by_o its_o quicken_a and_o convert_v power_n it_o be_v a_o very_a reasonable_a conclusion_n that_o if_o the_o holy_a scripture_n which_o have_v bring_v many_o out_o of_o darkness_n and_o gross_a ignorance_n humble_v many_o a_o perverse_a and_o mollify_v many_o a_o sear_a heart_n and_o fetch_v abundance_n of_o stranger_n home_o to_o christ_n jesus_n fold_n i_o say_v if_o these_o convince_a and_o influential_a mean_n work_v not_o upon_o sinner_n to_o repent_v believe_v and_o live_v up_o to_o that_o express_a holiness_n which_o they_o require_v it_o be_v very_o much_o to_o be_v doubt_v whether_o any_o extraordinary_a revelation_n will_v ever_o effect_v or_o reach_v they_o for_o though_o sensible_a demonstration_n be_v the_o great_a advantage_n imaginable_a to_o moral_a persuasion_n yet_o these_o thing_n be_v under_o no_o divine_a appointment_n to_o such_o a_o effect_n it_o be_v not_o so_o much_o to_o be_v wonder_v at_o that_o the_o intemperate_a see_v their_o fellow-sinner_n strike_v sudden_o dead_a by_o a_o invisible_a hand_n and_o yet_o unconcerned_o drink_v to_o excess_n and_o every_o day_n gratify_v their_o luxurious_a and_o thirsty_a appetite_n with_o large_a and_o unlimited_a draught_n that_o multitude_n of_o sinner_n be_v unexpected_o hurry_v into_o the_o other_o miserable_a world_n and_o their_o companion_n not_o in_o the_o least_o affect_v with_o such_o instance_n of_o divine_a vengeance_n but_o obstinate_o persist_v in_o iniquity_n as_o if_o there_o be_v no_o god_n to_o condemn_v nor_o a_o devil_n to_o punish_v they_o what_o can_v awake_v and_o rouse_v man_n out_o of_o the_o sleep_n of_o sin_n if_o such_o sensible_a evidence_n as_o these_o such_o special_a demonstration_n of_o god_n fury_n do_v not_o alarm_n and_o strike_v they_o with_o fear_n and_o tremble_a but_o to_o the_o further_a prosecution_n of_o the_o text_n the_o rich_a man_n say_v to_o abraham_n nay_o but_o if_o one_o mean_v from_o the_o dead_a to_o my_o brethren_n they_o
