thence_o conclude_v that_o if_o providence_n have_v a_o respect_n to_o any_o one_o part_n of_o the_o world_n it_o can_v be_v imagine_v but_o it_o shall_v have_v a_o influence_n over_o all_o for_o else_o it_o must_v either_o be_v finite_a or_o partial_a which_o be_v absurd_a so_o in_o the_o assert_v of_o scripture_n begin_v with_o that_o which_o they_o all_o point_n at_o and_o which_o if_o one_o place_n be_v question_v thousand_o of_o the_o same_o kind_n will_v evince_v viz._n that_o the_o messiah_n be_v to_o come_v which_o be_v the_o great_a design_n of_o the_o old_a testament_n that_o the_o messiah_n be_v come_v which_o be_v the_o sum_n of_o the_o new_a and_o then_o all_o the_o other_o part_n of_o scripture_n will_v be_v own_v as_o suit_v to_o the_o divine_a and_o heavenly_a nature_n of_o our_o messiah_n who_o take_v a_o body_n not_o only_o that_o he_o may_v die_v our_o price_n but_o that_o he_o may_v live_v our_o pattern_n and_o almost_o each_o line_n of_o scripture_n especial_o in_o the_o new_a testament_n describe_v either_o his_o life_n or_o his_o language_n 2._o here_o the_o doubter_n must_v begin_v because_o this_o be_v the_o ready_a way_n to_o ascertain_v himself_o whether_o he_o be_v guide_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n or_o not_o so_o the_o apostle_n paul_n 12.3_o 2_o cor._n 12.3_o none_o can_v call_v jesus_n the_o lord_n but_o by_o the_o holy_a spirit_n and_o john_n 4.2_o 1_o joh._n 4.2_o every_o spirit_n that_o confess_v jesus_n the_o messiah_n to_o be_v come_v in_o the_o flesh_n be_v of_o god_n they_o do_v not_o mean_v that_o say_v this_o in_o word_n be_v a_o sign_n of_o the_o spirit_n for_o what_o be_v more_o easy_a but_o the_o own_n it_o in_o heart_n this_o whoever_o do_v may_v be_v sure_o he_o have_v the_o spirit_n and_o the_o reason_n be_v plain_a because_o where_o the_o object_n propose_v do_v exceed_v any_o natural_a power_n there_o must_v be_v a_o new_a power_n give_v by_o which_o that_o object_n be_v to_o be_v receive_v thus_o the_o apostle_n john_n argue_v concern_v future_a glory_n hereafter_o 3.3_o 1_o joh._n 3.3_o say_v he_o we_o shall_v be_v like_o he_o i._n e._n christ_n because_o we_o shall_v see_v he_o as_o he_o be_v there_o will_v be_v a_o proportion_n and_o similitude_n between_o christ_n body_n and_o we_o because_o our_o visive_a faculty_n shall_v be_v so_o exceed_o advance_v as_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v able_a to_o perceive_v he_o in_o his_o utmost_a radiance_n of_o glory_n so_o in_o belief_n since_o the_o soul_n when_o it_o do_v it_o be_v heighten_v beyond_o any_o native_a virtue_n of_o its_o own_o it_o be_v a_o sign_n that_o god_n spirit_n have_v illuminate_v and_o enlarge_v its_o capacity_n thus_o the_o apostle_n we_o be_v save_v by_o grace_n through_o faith_n 2.8_o eph._n 2.8_o and_o that_o not_o of_o ourselves_o it_o be_v the_o gift_n of_o god_n i._n e._n that_o very_a faith_n by_o which_o we_o apprehend_v christ_n be_v as_o much_o the_o gift_n of_o god_n as_o christ_n himself_o that_o be_v apprehend_v by_o it_o i_o know_v very_o well_o this_o seem_v harsh_a to_o many_o who_o be_v willing_a to_o boast_v in_o themselves_o but_o if_o ever_o you_o come_v to_o believe_v indeed_o you_o will_v find_v the_o difficulty_n your_o natural_a reason_n do_v urge_v and_o vex_v you_o with_o to_o be_v insuperable_a until_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n by_o infuse_v new_a light_n do_v explain_v and_o solve_v they_o last_o begin_v with_o inquire_v whether_o jesus_n be_v the_o christ_n because_o upon_o this_o depend_v the_o whole_a course_n of_o your_o future_a obedience_n our_o saviour_n require_v no_o more_o of_o any_o that_o come_v unto_o he_o but_o to_o believe_v that_o he_o be_v the_o son_n of_o god_n not_o that_o he_o do_v exclude_v good_a work_n but_o he_o know_v that_o this_o be_v the_o only_a way_n to_o facilitate_v and_o expedite_v they_o all_o the_o while_o we_o be_v either_o uncertain_a that_o our_o past_a sin_n be_v pardon_v or_o our_o present_a service_n accept_v how_o lame_o how_o untoward_o do_v we_o set_v about_o our_o duty_n but_o when_o once_o we_o believe_v on_o christ_n all_o that_o care_n be_v over_o and_o the_o firm_a our_o faith_n be_v the_o high_a and_o more_o ardent_a will_v our_o love_n be_v which_o like_o a_o flame_n shoot_v through_o the_o soul_n and_o carry_v it_o out_o with_o a_o heavenly_a quickness_n and_o ardency_n therefore_o say_v the_o apostle_n 10._o rom._n 10.9_o 10._o if_o thou_o confess_v with_o thy_o mouth_n that_o jesus_n be_v the_o lord_n i.e._n if_o thou_o obeye_v he_o and_o believe_v in_o thy_o heart_n that_o god_n have_v raise_v he_o from_o the_o dead_a i.e._n that_o he_o be_v the_o true_a messiah_n of_o which_o his_o resurrection_n be_v a_o infallible_a proof_n thou_o shall_v be_v save_v for_o with_o the_o heart_n man_n believe_v unto_o righteousness_n i.e._n unto_o the_o justification_n of_o their_o person_n and_o with_o the_o mouth_n be_v confession_n make_v unto_o salvation_n but_o to_o think_v of_o make_v confession_n or_o do_v any_o act_n of_o religion_n without_o faith_n desire_n at_o least_o and_o the_o desire_n of_o faith_n be_v faith_n this_o be_v only_o to_o mock_v god_n and_o to_o undo_v ourselves_o by_o our_o foolish_a and_o hypocritical_a presumption_n in_o present_v unto_o he_o a_o sacrifice_n which_o he_o abhor_v for_o without_o faith_n i._n e._n reliance_n upon_o he_o for_o mercy_n and_o out_o of_o christ_n god_n be_v nothing_o else_o but_o justice_n it_o be_v impossible_a to_o please_v he_o when_o the_o doubter_n have_v go_v thus_o far_o as_o to_o find_v that_o if_o he_o will_v be_v satisfy_v here_o he_o must_v begin_v his_o next_o course_n will_v be_v to_o run_v over_o in_o his_o mind_n those_o argument_n which_o our_o god_n be_v not_o want_v to_o assist_v those_o who_o do_v but_o begin_v to_o inquire_v after_o he_o every_o doubt_n that_o arise_v be_v nothing_o else_o but_o a_o motion_n of_o god_n spirit_n whereby_o he_o will_v draw_v we_o unto_o himself_o have_v thus_o clear_v that_o to_o believe_v be_v not_o unreasonable_a as_o the_o unbeliever_n suppose_v the_o next_o thing_n i_o shall_v propose_v be_v this_o that_o 2._o to_o obey_v be_v not_o dangerous_a for_o though_o we_o may_v lose_v our_o life_n yet_o sure_o we_o shall_v be_v sufficient_a gainer_n if_o we_o save_v our_o soul_n and_o therefore_o let_v the_o doubter_n strengthen_v himself_o with_o represent_v heaven_n in_o its_o fullness_n of_o joy_n always_o before_o his_o eye_n that_o doctrine_n which_o teach_v that_o we_o be_v not_o to_o have_v
