according_a to_o what_o either_o the_o history_n or_o the_o tenor_n of_o such_o word_n will_v import_v and_o have_v as_o real_a meaning_n of_o the_o word_n as_o the_o best_a of_o saint_n may_v have_v but_o this_o be_v haerere_fw-la in_fw-la cortice_fw-la to_o stick_v at_o the_o rind_n they_o can_v never_o spiritual_o see_v into_o that_o glorious_a mystery_n which_o god_n intend_v by_o those_o expression_n but_o this_o i_o will_v have_v all_o to_o note_v though_o the_o mystery_n be_v more_o than_o can_v be_v express_v in_o word_n and_o there_o be_v a_o further_a glory_n hide_v than_o be_v express_v in_o any_o sentence_n divine_a yet_o there_o be_v no_o mystery_n contrary_a to_o the_o very_a sense_n and_o meaning_n of_o the_o positive_a word_n of_o scripture_n ob._n so_o that_o if_o any_o ask_v how_o far_o the_o light_n of_o humane_a reason_n can_v go_v in_o the_o find_n out_o these_o great_a mystery_n sol._n i_o answer_v no_o far_o than_o what_o the_o sense_n of_o word_n will_v bear_v and_o the_o deduction_n and_o conclusion_n from_o thence_o which_o yet_o may_v be_v as_o true_a for_o the_o notion_n as_o any_o knowledge_n which_o enlighten_v soul_n have_v but_o into_o the_o intimate_a glory_n and_o nature_n of_o the_o thing_n themselves_o and_o god_n design_n of_o love_n and_o glory_n in_o they_o all_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n can_v see_v for_o they_o be_v spiritual_a thing_n though_o clothe_v with_o earthly_a form_n and_o express_v themselves_o by_o earthly_a medium_n and_o they_o be_v to_o be_v judge_v in_o their_o own_o nature_n and_o their_o ownlight_n 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d 〈◊〉_d judge_v spiritual_a thing_n by_o spiritual_a as_o the_o sun_n must_v be_v try_v by_o its_o own_o light_n not_o by_o the_o star_n or_o a_o candle_n for_o example_n suppose_v a_o man_n soul_n be_v affect_v with_o joy_n or_o grief_n or_o take_v up_o with_o apprehension_n of_o some_o high_a nature_n and_o it_o break_v forth_o in_o word_n or_o writing_n to_o express_v this_o any_o man_n which_o have_v reason_n can_v tell_v what_o the_o word_n mean_v and_o so_o give_v judgement_n of_o his_o working_n but_o to_o see_v intimate_o how_o that_o soul_n work_v how_o the_o spirit_n flow_v up_o and_o down_o in_o the_o working_n of_o the_o soul_n on_o those_o apprehension_n none_o can_v imagine_v but_o one_o that_o be_v possess_v with_o the_o very_a same_o passion_n and_o can_v go_v as_o it_o be_v pure_o into_o such_o a_o soul_n so_o may_v i_o say_v of_o all_o the_o mystery_n of_o the_o gospel_n the_o sound_n of_o word_n the_o sense_n of_o thing_n which_o they_o hold_v forth_o nature_n may_v see_v reason_n may_v apprehend_v but_o to_o behold_v the_o spiritual_a glory_n and_o beauty_n of_o god_n in_o these_o above_o all_o thing_n else_o none_o but_o the_o spiritual_a man_n one_o who_o have_v his_o heart_n in_o the_o bosom_n of_o those_o glory_n can_v see_v therefore_o the_o apostle_n pray_v for_o the_o ephesian_n eph._n 1.17_o 18._o that_o they_o may_v have_v by_o this_o god_n will_v endear_v and_o sweeten_v himself_o to_o his_o poor_a creature_n and_o fit_v a_o way_n of_o sweet_a converse_n with_o we_o if_o god_n have_v manifest_v himself_o in_o his_o this_o god_n have_v raise_v up_o a_o statue_n and_o visible_a monument_n of_o his_o own_o infinite_a love_n to_o his_o elect_n for_o ever_o for_o rather_o than_o they_o shall_v want_v a_o suitable_a that_o all_o the_o thing_n of_o heaven_n shall_v be_v open_v in_o such_o a_o dark_a and_o weak_a way_n add_v to_o the_o mystery_n god_n may_v only_o have_v shine_v out_o the_o glory_n and_o open_v the_o nature_n of_o christ_n pure_o and_o silent_o by_o his_o spirit_n and_o then_o it_o will_v be_v no_o mystery_n to_o conceive_v how_o thing_n be_v manifest_v but_o that_o he_o will_v have_v the_o stumble_v the_o jew_n even_o against_o christ_n himself_o they_o think_v it_o can_v not_o be_v possible_a that_o such_o a_o generation_n shall_v ever_o be_v look_v on_o by_o god_n or_o ever_o take_v nature_n of_o the_o gospel_n of_o the_o person_n of_o christ_n be_v of_o itself_o invincible_a and_o oh_o what_o conceit_n be_v raise_v up_o in_o the_o heart_n against_o jesus_n christ_n the_o soul_n will_v run_v to_o this_o and_o that_o rather_o than_o christ_n it_o will_v look_v to_o self_n if_o it_o can_v find_v any_o thing_n there_o which_o may_v give_v it_o but_o little_a a_o ease_n though_o it_o do_v deceive_v it_o rather_o than_o go_v to_o christ_n it_o will_v court_v duty_n and_o performance_n saint_n and_o ordinance_n if_o any_o of_o they_o will_v afford_v but_o a_o spark_n of_o comfort_n to_o it_o that_o it_o may_v stay_v from_o christ_n for_o self_n and_o sin_n can_v endure_v to_o hear_v a_o good_a word_n of_o christ_n the_o antipathy_n be_v in_o nothing_o strange_a last_o view_v the_o requisite_n to_o believe_v what_o be_v require_v to_o make_v one_o believe_v for_o it_o be_v above_o the_o power_n of_o nature_n why_o 1._o there_o must_v a_o light_n from_o heaven_n shine_v into_o our_o heart_n all_o the_o light_n of_o nature_n and_o reason_n can_v never_o show_v what_o christ_n be_v nor_o make_v a_o man_n capable_a of_o know_v any_o thing_n of_o this_o mystery_n
