a_o thing_n when_o as_o he_o may_v have_v it_o with_o less_o labour_n he_o be_v a_o fool_n sure_o certain_o if_o you_o be_v such_o as_o belong_v to_o god_n especial_o you_o may_v rather_o expect_v god_n to_o bless_v you_o if_o you_o keep_v your_o heart_n more_o spiritual_a you_o may_v expect_v that_o god_n will_v grant_v to_o you_o more_o of_o the_o good_a thing_n of_o this_o world_n if_o you_o be_v less_o earthly-minded_n than_o you_o be_v and_o it_o be_v your_o earthly-mindednesse_a that_o make_v god_n cut_v you_o short_a of_o these_o thing_n i_o be_o very_o persuade_v there_o be_v many_o man_n that_o have_v ill_a success_n in_o their_o earthly_a affair_n and_o it_o be_v a_o fruit_n of_o god_n displeasure_n upon_o they_o because_o their_o heart_n be_v so_o much_o upon_o worldly_a business_n do_v you_o go_v on_o in_o your_o employment_n in_o obedience_n to_o god_n and_o commit_v it_o to_o god_n for_o success_n you_o may_v be_v crown_v with_o more_o success_n than_o you_o have_v there_o be_v a_o notable_a description_n i_o fear_v it_o may_v be_v of_o many_o of_o you_o and_o they_o come_v unto_o thou_o say_v the_o lord_n to_o the_o prophet_n as_o the_o people_n come_v and_o they_o sit_v before_o thou_o as_o my_o people_n and_o they_o hear_v thy_o word_n but_o they_o will_v not_o do_v they_o for_o with_o their_o mouth_n they_o show_v much_o love_n but_o their_o heart_n it_o these_o that_o our_o saviour_n speak_v of_o here_o in_o this_o parable_n that_o get_v no_o benefit_n by_o the_o word_n be_v not_o man_n that_o live_v lewd_o your_o drunkard_n swearer_n and_o whoremaster_n but_o those_o that_o have_v earthly_a heart_n it_o be_v say_v the_o deceitfulness_n of_o riches_n the_o thing_n of_o the_o earth_n do_v not_o hinder_v in_o a_o open_a way_n for_o thousand_o of_o man_n that_o have_v earthly_a heart_n they_o do_v not_o know_v that_o they_o have_v earthly_a heart_n no_o it_o be_v the_o deceitfulness_n of_o riches_n and_o it_o choke_v the_o word_n it_o may_v be_v just_a when_o they_o be_v in_o hear_v of_o the_o word_n it_o do_v affect_v they_o oh_o they_o think_v it_o be_v sweet_a and_o they_o will_v remember_v it_o but_o the_o deceitfulness_n of_o riches_n and_o the_o care_n of_o this_o world_n choke_v the_o word_n when_o they_o come_v they_o have_v business_n about_o the_o world_n and_o their_o house_n and_o garden_n and_o come_n in_o and_o full_a table_n and_o all_o the_o delight_n that_o they_o have_v in_o the_o world_n come_v and_o possess_v the_o heart_n that_o the_o word_n be_v choke_v it_o can_v get_v down_o into_o the_o soul_n to_o sink_v in_o there_o and_o so_o to_o prevail_v in_o the_o soul_n to_o bring_v forth_o fruit_n oh_o the_o word_n be_v choke_v oh_o many_o of_o you_o come_v here_o three_o time_n on_o the_o lord_n day_n and_o have_v precious_a seed_n sow_v all_o those_o time_n and_o yet_o oh_o how_o it_o be_v choke_v through_o the_o care_n of_o this_o world_n and_o through_o the_o deceitfulness_n of_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n you_o bring_v with_o you_o and_o keep_v with_o you_o and_o carry_v along_o with_o you_o earthly_a mind_n and_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o the_o word_n prevail_v not_o consider_v further_o how_o short_a thy_o time_n be_v that_o thou_o have_v here_o in_o this_o world_n that_o be_v the_o argument_n of_o the_o apostle_n because_o the_o time_n be_v short_a therefore_o let_v we_o use_v the_o world_n as_o if_o we_o use_v it_o not_o therefore_o let_v our_o heart_n be_v take_v off_o from_o these_o thing_n we_o have_v but_o a_o little_a time_n and_o a_o great_a deal_n in_o this_o world_n it_o may_v be_v a_o mighty_a reason_n for_o we_o to_o bid_v adieu_o to_o all_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o world_n indeed_o if_o we_o have_v time_n enough_o for_o our_o work_n and_o be_v sure_a of_o our_o time_n then_o we_o may_v spend_v it_o about_o trifle_n if_o a_o man_n come_v into_o the_o city_n to_o do_v business_n of_o great_a weight_n and_o consequence_n and_o have_v but_o a_o little_a time_n to_o spend_v about_o it_o he_o never_o mind_v any_o thing_n he_o see_v in_o the_o city_n never_o mind_v any_o body_n that_o come_v by_o he_o or_o any_o show_v in_o shop_n what_o bravery_n there_o be_v there_o but_o go_v up_o and_o down_o the_o street_n mind_v only_o his_o own_o business_n oh_o so_o it_o shall_v be_v with_o we_o my_o brethren_n consider_v the_o great_a the_o spend_v the_o very_a spirit_n of_o your_o soul_n upon_o the_o thing_n of_o this_o earth_n can_v you_o spare_v so_o many_o hour_n certain_o if_o god_n do_v but_o make_v know_v to_o you_o what_o eternity_n mean_v if_o the_o lord_n do_v but_o cause_v the_o fear_n of_o eternity_n to_o fall_v upon_o you_o you_o will_v not_o misspend_v so_o much_o time_n as_o you_o do_v many_o time_n though_o you_o complain_v for_o want_v of_o time_n for_o spiritual_a thing_n oh_o how_o much_o time_n do_v you_o spend_v in_o let_v out_o your_o thought_n and_o affection_n upon_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o earth_n more_o than_o you_o need_v the_o eight_o consideration_n consider_v therefore_o in_o the_o next_o place_n that_o a_o little_a will_v serve_v the_o turn_n to_o carry_v we_o through_o this_o world_n we_o be_v here_o but_o in_o our_o pilgrimage_n or_o in_o our_o voyage_n now_o a_o little_a will_v serve_v the_o turn_n here_o for_o the_o carry_v of_o we_o through_o this_o world_n man_n will_v not_o take_v more_o in_o a_o journey_n than_o may_v help_v they_o if_o a_o man_n that_o be_v to_o go_v a_o journey_n shall_v get_v a_o whole_a bundle_n of_o staff_n and_o lay_v they_o upon_o his_o shoulder_n and_o you_o shall_v ask_v he_o the_o reason_n why_o he_o carry_v that_o bundle_n why_o say_v he_o i_o be_o go_v a_o great_a journey_n and_o i_o know_v not_o what_o need_n i_o may_v and_o comfort_n they_o have_v in_o god_n and_o they_o be_v the_o more_o fit_a to_o die_v i_o remember_v ecolampagius_n when_o he_o be_v to_o die_v be_v very_o poor_a profess_v that_o he_o will_v not_o have_v be_v rich_a than_o he_o be_v for_o he_o see_v what_o a_o hindrance_n it_o be_v and_o so_o he_o can_v pass_v out_o of_o the_o world_n with_o more_o ease_n and_o quiet_v a_o great_a deal_n certain_o a_o little_a will_v serve_v the_o turn_n here_o we_o say_v nature_n be_v content_a with_o a_o little_a and_o if_o there_o be_v grace_n it_o will_v be_v content_a with_o less_o and_o therefore_o let_v not_o our_o mind_n be_v upon_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o earth_n we_o have_v not_o so_o much_o need_v of_o the_o thing_n of_o the_o earth_n as_o we_o think_v for_o the_o nine_o consideration_n and_o then_o further_o consider_v though_o upon_o our_o mind_v the_o thing_n of_o the_o earth_n we_o shall_v enjoy_v never_o so_o much_o yet_o there_o be_v no_o comfort_n no_o good_a to_o be_v have_v in_o they_o any_o further_a than_o god_n will_v be_v please_v to_o let_v himself_o through_o they_o they_o be_v but_o as_o channel_n to_o convey_v the_o blessing_n and_o goodness_n of_o god_n to_o we_o man_n live_v not_o by_o bread_n nor_o meat_n only_o you_o be_v deceive_v to_o think_v that_o if_o you_o have_v such_o and_o such_o thing_n you_o shall_v certain_o have_v a_o comfortable_a life_n i_o say_v you_o may_v be_v deceive_v in_o this_o for_o it_o be_v god_n in_o these_o that_o do_v comfort_v the_o heart_n there_o be_v a_o notable_a scripture_n for_o this_o in_o the_o 62._o psal_n where_o the_o holy_a ghost_n say_v at_o the_o 10._o verse_n trust_v not_o in_o oppression_n and_o become_v not_o vain_a in_o robbery_n if_o riches_n increase_v set_v not_o your_o heart_n upon_o they_o do_v not_o mind_v they_o why_o in_o the_o 11._o verse_n god_n have_v speak_v once_o twice_o have_v i_o hear_v this_o that_o power_n belong_v unto_o god_n if_o riches_n increase_v set_v not_o thy_o heart_n upon_o they_o let_v not_o your_o heart_n and_o mind_n be_v upon_o riches_n or_o any_o thing_n in_o this_o earth_n why_o god_n have_v speak_v once_o twice_o have_v i_o hear_v that_o be_v again_z and_o again_o god_n have_v speak_v effectual_o to_o i_o that_o all_o power_n to_o do_v any_o good_a belong_v unto_o he_o it_o be_v not_o in_o riches_n there_o be_v no_o power_n they_o shall_v find_v calais_n in_o her_o heart_n and_o so_o it_o may_v be_v say_v of_o saint_n who_o conversation_n be_v in_o heaven_n i_o speak_v not_o of_o all_o professor_n of_o religion_n for_o it_o be_v say_v of_o body_n when_o paul_n speak_v of_o the_o resurrection_n there_o be_v body_n celestial_a and_o body_n terrestrial_a so_o i_o may_v say_v there_o be_v professor_n celestial_a and_o professor_n terrestrial_a but_o as_o for_o such_o who_o conversation_n be_v in_o heaven_n who_o walk_v with_o god_n and_o live_v here_o the_o life_n of_o heaven_n upon_o earth_n if_o they_o be_v rip_v up_o you_o shall_v find_v heaven_n in_o their_o heart_n un-rip_a many_o man_n heart_n and_o there_o be_v nothing_o but_o the_o earth_n uncleanness_n and_o baseness_n suppose_v god_n shall_v come_v account_v it_o a_o ill_a dwell_n where_o man_n dwell_v in_o narrow_a lane_n in_o the_o city_n so_o that_o they_o can_v scarce_o see_v the_o heaven_n except_o they_o go_v abroad_o in_o the_o field_n my_o brethren_n sure_o it_o be_v a_o sad_a time_n with_o a_o gracious_a heart_n when_o any_o one_o day_n pass_v without_o converse_n with_o heaven_n without_o the_o sight_n of_o heaven_n and_o meditation_n of_o heaven_n and_o have_v their_o heart_n there_o thus_o it_o shall_v be_v with_o christian_n who_o conversation_n be_v in_o heaven_n they_o shall_v never_o love_v such_o dwelling_n wherein_o they_o can_v see_v the_o beam_n of_o the_o sun_n it_o be_v a_o most_o comfortable_a thing_n for_o to_o see_v the_o light_n a_o man_n that_o dwell_v in_o some_o dark_a house_n it_o be_v the_o same_o happiness_n that_o be_v in_o heaven_n and_o make_v their_o exercise_n to_o be_v the_o same_o exercise_n that_o be_v in_o heaven_n as_o for_o instance_n what_o be_v there_o in_o heaven_n there_o be_v the_o fight_n of_o the_o face_n of_o god_n blessed_n be_v the_o pure_a in_o heart_n for_o they_o shall_v see_v god_n and_o the_o angel_n always_o behold_v the_o face_n of_o god_n so_o heaven_n a_o better_a and_o endure_a substance_n you_o may_v read_v it_o thus_o know_v you_o have_v heaven_n a_o better_a endure_a substance_n in_o yourselves_o so_o that_o the_o word_n know_v in_o yourselves_o have_v not_o only_a reference_n to_o what_o they_o know_v by_o hear-say_n though_o this_o be_v a_o true_a note_n that_o they_o may_v know_v heaven_n

you_o find_v in_o their_o clothes_n you_o shall_v have_v many_o man_n and_o woman_n when_o they_o go_v abroad_o they_o will_v be_v very_o neat_a and_o though_o they_o have_v but_o little_a mean_n yet_o they_o will_v lay_v it_o upon_o their_o back_n so_o that_o they_o may_v be_v fine_a abroad_o but_o come_v to_o they_o in_o their_o family_n and_o they_o care_v not_o what_o clothes_n they_o of_o they_o you_o will_v say_v that_o be_v hard_a to_o walk_v with_o god_n indeed_o we_o may_v walk_v with_o god_n and_o keep_v on_o in_o communion_n with_o he_o notwithstanding_o outward_a affliction_n but_o when_o the_o lord_n seem_v to_o withdraw_v himself_o and_o when_o there_o be_v both_o outward_a and_o inward_a too_o that_o be_v hard_a for_o outward_a affliction_n i_o will_v give_v you_o one_o notable_a scripture_n for_o a_o child_n of_o god_n follow_v hard_o after_o god_n though_o god_n seem_v to_o withdraw_v himself_o from_o the_o soul_n in_o the_o 63._o psal_n where_o any_o of_o god_n withdrawing_n from_o they_o you_o never_o hear_v they_o complain_v of_o any_o such_o thing_n they_o know_v not_o what_o it_o mean_v therefore_o i_o say_v it_o be_v a_o good_a sign_n that_o thou_o know_v what_o it_o be_v to_o walk_v with_o god_n because_o thou_o be_v sensible_a of_o any_o of_o god_n withdrawing_n from_o thou_o second_o examine_v whether_o thou_o have_v not_o hand_n to_o walk_v with_o thou_o and_o thou_o have_v not_o be_v at_o leisure_n then_o thy_o mind_n have_v be_v about_o somewhat_o else_o oh_o therefore_o be_v humble_v before_o he_o for_o all_o thy_o may_v be_v more_o of_o god_n presence_n than_o at_o another_o time_n when_o it_o shall_v shine_v in_o the_o beauty_n of_o it_o in_o the_o comfotrs_n of_o a_o christian_a for_o so_o i_o compare_v the_o shine_a of_o the_o comfort_n of_o a_o christian_a to_o the_o shine_a of_o the_o sun_n in_o the_o winter_n that_o sometime_o have_v no_o influence_n to_o sanctify_v the_o heart_n as_o in_o winter_n time_n the_o sun_n have_v not_o that_o influence_n to_o fructify_v the_o ground_n but_o at_o other_o time_n though_o the_o sun_n be_v cloud_v yet_o it_o have_v influence_n to_o make_v the_o ground_n fruitful_a so_o though_o god_n may_v not_o shine_v upon_o thou_o in_o regard_n of_o outward_a comfort_n yet_o he_o may_v shine_v in_o upon_o thy_o soul_n and_o make_v thou_o to_o increase_v and_o grow_v in_o goodness_n more_o than_o ever_o before_o five_o if_o thou_o can_v not_o see_v god_n face_n yet_o harken_v and_o see_v if_o thou_o can_v not_o hear_v his_o voice_n and_o follow_v that_o do_v thou_o come_v to_o the_o word_n and_o there_o hear_v his_o voice_n be_v not_o god_n please_v to_o speak_v to_o thy_o soul_n out_o of_o his_o word_n thou_o go_v perhaps_o into_o thy_o closet_n and_o can_v not_o see_v his_o face_n there_o as_o thou_o be_v wont_a to_o do_v yet_o bless_v he_o that_o thou_o can_v hear_v his_o voice_n and_o follow_v his_o voice_n though_o it_o be_v in_o the_o
