thought_n of_o it_o no_o the_o wonder_n rather_o be_v that_o such_o a_o one_o can_v have_v any_o case_n and_o quietness_n any_o freedom_n from_o horror_n and_o perplexity_n of_o mind_n that_o he_o of_o a_o earthy_a dreggy_a nature_n shall_v then_o cleave_v to_o they_o all_o carnal_a sordid_a employment_n be_v great_o below_o they_o their_o work_n be_v altogether_o heavenly_a and_o spiritual_a spiritual_a suitable_a unto_o the_o habitation_n to_o the_o inhabitant_n to_o the_o employment_n and_o enjoyment_n that_o be_v there_o which_o be_v altogether_o spiritual_a three_o the_o body_n of_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n shall_v be_v full_a of_o power_n and_o agility_n they_o be_v sow_o say_v the_o apostle_n in_o weakness_n they_o be_v frail_a sinful_a body_n and_o therefore_o they_o must_v die_v yet_o shall_v they_o be_v raise_v in_o power_n now_o this_o power_n and_o agility_n that_o shall_v be_v bestow_v upon_o glorify_a body_n be_v very_o wonderful_a be_v that_o whereby_o they_o and_o motion_n as_o they_o must_v be_v employ_v in_o there_o but_o they_o will_v soon_o tire_v and_o faint_a scripture_n and_o experience_n tell_v we_o this_o that_o when_o the_o soul_n be_v exercise_v about_o any_o high_a and_o glorious_a object_n the_o body_n present_o sink_v and_o fail_v so_o it_o be_v in_o the_o ecstasy_n of_o the_o prophet_n when_o god_n do_v reveal_v himself_o in_o a_o extraordinary_a manner_n unto_o daniel_n his_o body_n fail_v he_o faint_v and_o be_v sick_a many_o day_n dan._n 8.27_o but_o now_o in_o heaven_n the_o body_n of_o the_o saint_n shall_v be_v so_o those_o thing_n that_o be_v to_o be_v enjoy_v beyond_o time_n even_o in_o eternity_n and_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o they_o have_v such_o strong_a consolation_n as_o bear_v up_o their_o soul_n above_o all_o the_o suffering_n that_o they_o meet_v with_o in_o this_o present_a life_n because_o they_o have_v sle_z for_o refuge_n to_o lay_v hold_n on_o the_o hope_n that_o be_v set_v before_o they_o which_o hope_v they_o have_v as_o a_o anchor_n of_o the_o soul_n that_o be_v sure_a and_o steadfast_a because_o it_o enter_v into_o that_o within_o the_o veil_n heb._n 6.18_o 19_o it_o be_v the_o nature_n of_o the_o new_a creature_n wherever_o it_o be_v to_o cause_v the_o soul_n to_o look_v upward_o and_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o the_o people_n of_o god_n be_v say_v to_o be_v beget_v again_o unto_o a_o lively_a hope_n of_o a_o inheritance_n incorruptible_a undefiled_a and_o that_o fade_v not_o away_o reserve_v in_o heaven_n for_o they_o 1_o pet._n 1.3_o 4._o from_o this_o now_o spring_v great_a joy_n and_o consolation_n and_o therefore_o upon_o this_o account_n it_o be_v that_o believer_n be_v say_v to_o rejoice_v in_o hope_n of_o the_o glory_n of_o god_n rom._n 35.2_o shall_v i_o now_o attempt_v to_o lay_v down_o a_o description_n of_o heaven_n that_o place_n of_o perfect_a bliss_n and_o happiness_n i_o shall_v prevent_v myself_o in_o what_o i_o intend_v to_o speak_v more_o almighty_a expression_n of_o see_v god_n of_o behold_v he_o face_n to_o face_n of_o be_v make_v like_o unto_o he_o and_o see_v he_o as_o he_o be_v at_o present_a we_o be_v much_o in_o the_o dark_a about_o be_v beyond_o the_o reach_n of_o our_o finite_a understanding_n certain_a it_o be_v that_o there_o be_v something_o of_o a_o extraordinary_a happiness_n intend_v unto_o the_o people_n of_o god_n thereby_o but_o how_o full_a how_o glorious_a a_o happiness_n it_o be_v and_o in_o what_o way_n and_o manner_n it_o shall_v be_v communicate_v to_o they_o be_v thing_n that_o pose_v our_o reason_n and_o nonplus_n our_o understanding_n to_o search_v into_o the_o bottom_n of_o o_o this_o great_a word_n god_n as_o it_o signify_v the_o divine_a essence_n and_o be_v and_o as_o it_o hold_v forth_o a_o happiness_n that_o shall_v be_v communicate_v unto_o the_o people_n of_o god_n according_a to_o the_o meaning_n of_o those_o expression_n beforementioned_a of_o see_v of_o god_n of_o behold_v he_o face_n to_o face_n of_o be_v make_v like_o unto_o he_o and_o see_v he_o as_o he_o be_v of_o which_o our_o ignorance_n at_o present_a be_v great_a than_o our_o knowledge_n i_o say_v this_o great_a word_n god_n have_v more_o in_o it_o than_o all_o other_o word_n can_v express_v to_o we_o yea_o there_o be_v more_o in_o it_o than_o all_o the_o understanding_n of_o man_n or_o angel_n can_v unfold_v to_o we_o a_o happiness_n there_o be_v contain_v in_o it_o that_o be_v so_o great_a as_o can_v only_o be_v know_v and_o understand_v by_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o it_o yea_o it_o be_v a_o happiness_n so_o great_a as_o shall_v never_o be_v full_o understand_v no_o not_o by_o those_o that_o enjoy_v it_o for_o from_o this_o bless_a vision_n of_o god_n which_o glorify_a soul_n always_o behold_v there_o shall_v continual_o arise_v such_o fresh_a discovery_n of_o new_a and_o glorious_a excellency_n in_o the_o divine_a be_v as_o shall_v ravish_v the_o saint_n with_o new_a joy_n and_o pleasure_n to_o all_o eternity_n in_o speak_v to_o this_o vision_n of_o the_o saint_n i_o shall_v endeavour_v to_o explain_v these_o two_o thing_n first_o what_o kind_n of_o sight_n or_o vision_n of_o god_n the_o saint_n shall_v have_v in_o heaven_n second_o wherein_o it_o do_v appear_v that_o this_o sight_n and_o vision_n of_o god_n will_v be_v so_o great_a a_o happiness_n to_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n first_o what_o kind_n of_o sight_n or_o vision_n of_o god_n the_o saint_n shall_v have_v in_o heaven_n now_o to_o this_o i_o answer_v first_o the_o saint_n vision_n of_o god_n in_o heaven_n will_v be_v immediate_a and_o clear_a what_o representation_n the_o saint_n have_v of_o god_n in_o this_o life_n come_v to_o they_o by_o the_o interposition_n of_o some_o mean_n by_o which_o god_n be_v please_v to_o make_v himself_o know_v which_o be_v a_o dark_a and_o imperfect_a way_n of_o revelation_n though_o suitable_a to_o our_o present_a state_n compare_v with_o what_o the_o saint_n shall_v have_v in_o heaven_n in_o this_o life_n the_o people_n of_o god_n see_v he_o as_o the_o spouse_n see_v she_o belove_v through_o the_o lattice_n cant._n 2.9_o or_o as_o the_o apostle_n speak_v 1_o cor._n 13.12_o through_o a_o glass_n that_o be_v dark_o and_o indeed_o it_o can_v be_v no_o otherwise_o because_o it_o be_v through_o a_o glass_n now_o the_o word_n of_o god_n be_v a_o glass_n in_o which_o great_a discovery_n be_v make_v of_o god_n the_o work_v of_o god_n also_o be_v another_o glass_n hold_v before_o our_o face_n continual_o in_o which_o we_o may_v see_v more_o of_o his_o excellency_n and_o perfection_n display_v but_o neither_o in_o the_o word_n of_o god_n nor_o in_o the_o work_v of_o god_n be_v god_n so_o clear_o discover_v to_o we_o as_o he_o shall_v be_v to_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n while_o we_o be_v in_o this_o world_n god_n make_v use_v of_o the_o ministry_n of_o man_n like_o ourselves_o to_o instruct_v we_o in_o the_o knowledge_n of_o himself_o and_o though_o they_o may_v do_v something_o towards_o the_o enlighten_v of_o our_o mind_n and_o the_o build_n up_o of_o our_o soul_n in_o the_o knowledge_n and_o love_n of_o god_n when_o assist_v by_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n yet_o be_v it_o but_o little_o that_o they_o themselves_o know_v of_o god_n and_o therefore_o be_v it_o but_o little_o that_o they_o can_v communicate_v unto_o other_o so_o say_v the_o apostle_n and_o he_o put_v himself_o into_o the_o number_n 1_o cor._n 12.9_o we_o know_v but_o in_o part_n and_o therefore_o we_o prophesy_v but_o in_o part_n as_o if_o the_o apostle_n have_v say_v there_o be_v great_a and_o glorious_a thing_n to_o be_v know_v hereafter_o when_o we_o come_v to_o heaven_n but_o at_o present_a our_o shallow_a understanding_n can_v reach_v they_o all_o that_o we_o can_v do_v in_o our_o present_a state_n be_v to_o receive_v and_o take_v in_o a_o little_a knowledge_n of_o they_o to_o know_v in_o part_n and_o according_a to_o that_o knowledge_n which_o we_o have_v such_o be_v the_o knowledge_n we_o communicate_v unto_o other_o we_o know_v but_o in_o part_n and_o therefore_o we_o prophesy_v but_o in_o part_n this_o now_o be_v the_o present_a state_n of_o a_o christian_a and_o the_o high_a he_o can_v attain_v to_o in_o this_o world_n to_o know_v something_o of_o god_n to_o have_v some_o sight_n of_o the_o divine_a excellency_n and_o perfection_n but_o it_o be_v but_o mediate_o and_o but_o in_o part_n not_o immediate_o and_o clear_o as_o the_o saint_n shall_v do_v in_o heaven_n this_o be_v indeed_o according_a to_o their_o present_a capacity_n and_o according_a to_o their_o present_a necessity_n but_o not_o according_a to_o what_o shall_v be_v it_o be_v according_a to_o their_o present_a capacity_n that_o be_v according_a to_o what_o they_o can_v bear_v for_o shall_v god_n make_v immediate_a discovery_n of_o himself_o unto_o we_o this_o will_v sink_v and_o overwhelm_v our_o being_n and_o we_o shall_v not_o be_v able_a to_o bear_v up_o under_o they_o it_o be_v also_o suitable_a to_o the_o saint_n necessity_n for_o when_o a_o soul_n be_v beget_v again_o by_o the_o word_n of_o truth_n unto_o a_o lively_a hope_n of_o glory_n and_o immortality_n the_o build_n up_o of_o that_o soul_n in_o grace_n and_o holiness_n that_o it_o may_v be_v sit_v for_o the_o vision_n and_o enjoyment_n of_o god_n be_v to_o be_v carry_v on_o gradual_o in_o the_o use_n of_o mean_n and_o ordinance_n institute_v and_o appoint_v by_o god_n for_o that_o end_n and_o purpose_n but_o as_o it_o be_v in_o a_o building_n when_o that_o which_o be_v design_v thereby_o be_v accomplish_v and_o perfect_v the_o scaffold_n and_o other_o instrument_n that_o be_v make_v use_n of_o for_o the_o erect_n thereof_o be_v all_o take_v down_o and_o remove_v out_o of_o the_o way_n so_o be_v it_o here_o while_o believer_n be_v in_o the_o way_n to_o heaven_n that_o be_v in_o a_o state_n of_o preparation_n for_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o god_n means_n and_o ordinance_n be_v necessary_a but_o when_o they_o be_v come_v to_o heaven_n these_o thing_n be_v at_o a_o end_n prophesy_v and_o teach_v shall_v there_o cease_v as_o the_o apostle_n speak_v there_o be_v no_o use_n of_o they_o in_o heaven_n because_o believer_n be_v there_o come_v to_o their_o perfect_a state_n and_o god_n will_v there_o communicate_v himself_o to_o they_o immediate_o and_o clear_o in_o heaven_n god_n unvail_v himself_o to_o the_o saint_n display_v himself_o to_o they_o in_o his_o glory_n according_a to_o their_o ability_n to_o receive_v and_o bear_v it_o and_o that_o which_o add_v much_o to_o their_o happiness_n in_o this_o bless_a vision_n of_o god_n be_v this_o that_o there_o the_o understanding_n of_o the_o saint_n shall_v be_v enlarge_v and_o strengthen_v that_o they_o may_v be_v able_a to_o take_v in_o according_a to_o what_o a_o finite_a capacity_n can_v bear_v of_o the_o fruition_n of_o a_o infinite_a god_n in_o which_o vision_n and_o enjoyment_n of_o god_n they_o shall_v be_v spend_v a_o eternity_n with_o everlasting_a joy_n and_o delight_n second_o the_o saint_n vision_n of_o god_n in_o heaven_n will_v be_v transform_v not_o bare_o speculative_a or_o notional_a but_o influential_a and_o operative_a upon_o the_o mind_n and_o soul_n by_o see_v god_n we_o shall_v become_v like_o he_o it_o be_v not_o so_o with_o we_o here_o if_o a_o deform_a man_n look_v upon_o the_o
refine_a nature_n of_o the_o soul_n yea_o it_o be_v a_o great_a affront_n and_o abuse_v that_o we_o put_v upon_o our_o spiritual_a heavenborn_a soul_n when_o we_o give_v they_o nothing_o to_o feed_v upon_o or_o to_o delight_v in_o but_o what_o the_o dregs_o of_o earthly_a enjoyment_n will_v afford_v they_o alas_o the_o soul_n be_v of_o so_o pure_a and_o refine_a a_o constitution_n that_o it_o can_v live_v in_o much_o less_o be_v delight_v with_o the_o foggy_a thick_a air_n of_o earthly_a and_o sensual_a enjoyment_n it_o be_v a_o debase_v the_o noble_a and_o high-born_a soul_n of_o man_n to_o attempt_v to_o match_v it_o with_o the_o low_a and_o base_a thing_n of_o this_o world_n spiritual_a being_n and_n existence_n must_v have_v spiritual_a object_n to_o be_v please_v and_o delight_v with_o for_o they_o can_v take_v no_o delight_n in_o other_o thing_n because_o they_o be_v unsuitable_a to_o they_o but_o now_o when_o soul_n be_v join_v unto_o god_n spiritual_a thing_n be_v join_v unto_o that_o which_o be_v spiritual_a the_o spiritual_a soul_n unto_o god_n who_o be_v a_o spirit_n and_o the_o god_n of_o spirit_n and_o therefore_o from_o the_o soul_n be_v enjoy_v of_o god_n and_o have_v eternal_a communion_n with_o he_o who_o be_v the_o father_n of_o spirit_n those_o joy_n &_o delight_n that_o hereby_o will_v everlasting_o fill_v the_o soul_n must_v needs_o be_v inexpressible_o great_a and_o glorious_a and_o the_o reason_n be_v this_o because_o here_o be_v a_o suitableness_n between_o the_o soul_n and_o the_o object_n to_o which_o it_o be_v unite_v and_o suitableness_n always_o produce_v love_n and_o where_o there_o be_v love_n there_o will_v be_v joy_n and_o delight_n and_o always_o the_o more_o of_o suitableness_n there_o be_v between_o one_o person_n and_o another_o or_o between_o a_o person_n and_o a_o object_n still_o the_o more_o of_o love_n and_o the_o more_o of_o love_n the_o more_o of_o joy_n and_o delight_n thus_o now_o it_o be_v between_o god_n and_o the_o soul_n no_o object_n so_o suitable_a unto_o the_o soul_n as_o god_n no_o object_n so_o love_v and_o desire_v by_o the_o soul_n as_o god_n and_o consequent_o no_o great_a joy_n and_o delight_n can_v befall_v the_o soul_n than_o in_o the_o eternal_a enjoyment_n of_o god_n and_o this_o shall_v be_v the_o happiness_n of_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n for_o ever_o four_o god_n be_v a_o all-sufficient_a good_a and_o therefore_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o he_o must_v needs_o be_v a_o great_a happiness_n to_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n be_v it_o possible_a for_o a_o man_n to_o live_v in_o this_o world_n free_a from_o all_o pain_n and_o suffer_v in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o all_o outward_a abundance_n even_o to_o the_o utmost_a of_o what_o there_o be_v in_o all_o the_o creature_n to_o make_v a_o man_n happy_a yet_o if_o all_o that_o good_a that_o he_o enjoy_v be_v not_o enough_o if_o it_o do_v not_o answer_v all_o his_o want_n and_o fill_v all_o his_o desire_n to_o the_o full_a so_o that_o he_o can_v crave_v nothing_o more_o this_o man_n notwithstanding_o all_o his_o enjoyment_n have_v not_o attain_v unto_o happiness_n it_o be_v true_a he_o be_v in_o a_o happy_a condition_n than_o most_o man_n be_v in_o regard_n whereof_o possible_o he_o be_v become_v the_o envy_n of_o his_o neighbour_n but_o yet_o be_v he_o not_o complete_o happy_a because_o there_o be_v a_o insufficiency_n in_o all_o thing_n here_o below_o to_o make_v a_o man_n happy_a the_o philosopher_n tell_v we_o that_o happiness_n be_v a_o state_n wherein_o there_o be_v a_o aggregation_n or_o meet_v together_o of_o all_o good_a thing_n whatsoever_o so_o that_o according_a to_o this_o definition_n of_o happiness_n if_o a_o man_n can_v be_v suppose_v to_o enjoy_v all_o good_a thing_n and_o yet_o want_v but_o one_o that_o man_n can_v not_o be_v a_o happy_a man._n but_o god_n be_v a_o all-sufficient_a good_a and_o in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o he_o we_o enjoy_v all_o that_o be_v good_a he_o be_v self-sufficient_a for_o himself_o and_o all-sufficient_a to_o his_o creature_n this_o title_n he_o give_v himself_o gen._n 17.1_o i_o be_o say_v he_o to_o abraham_n god_n all-sufficient_a there_o be_v alone_o for_o whatever_o excellency_n there_o be_v in_o the_o creature_n it_o be_v more_o eminent_o and_o transcendent_o in_o god_n already_o all_o addition_n to_o he_o therefore_o signify_v nothing_o portion_n i_o shall_v not_o want_v for_o have_v he_o who_o be_v all_o to_o be_v we_o we_o have_v all._n and_o this_o now_o be_v the_o happiness_n of_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n that_o there_o god_n shall_v be_v all_o in_o all_o unto_o they_o five_o god_n be_v a_o satisfy_v good_a and_o therefore_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o he_o must_v needs_o be_v a_o great_a happiness_n to_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n pleasure_n and_o delight_n be_v of_o the_o essence_n of_o happiness_n and_o flow_v from_o that_o satisfaction_n that_o our_o desire_n receive_v in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o a_o good_a we_o possess_v and_o whatever_o it_o be_v that_o we_o enjoy_v if_o it_o be_v not_o enough_o to_o fill_v and_o satisfy_v our_o appetite_n from_o crave_v more_o we_o be_v still_o short_a of_o happiness_n let_v our_o enjoyment_n be_v what_o they_o will_n such_o a_o good_a now_o be_v god_n a_o good_a beyond_o who_o there_o be_v nothing_o imaginable_a to_o be_v conceive_v and_o therefore_o it_o be_v impossible_a there_o shall_v or_o can_v be_v any_o thing_n desire_v but_o nothing_o else_o be_v so_o if_o we_o leave_v god_n out_o whatever_o we_o take_v in_o the_o heart_n will_v still_o be_v capable_a of_o desire_v more_o all_o the_o world_n and_o all_o the_o creature_n that_o it_o be_v stock_v withal_o shall_v they_o conspire_v and_o meet_v together_o to_o make_v up_o a_o happiness_n for_o one_o soul_n they_o can_v not_o do_v it_o god_n have_v not_o give_v a_o commission_n to_o any_o thing_n here_o below_o no_o nor_o to_o all_o of_o they_o put_v together_o to_o give_v we_o contentment_n and_o satisfaction_n he_o have_v commidionated_a the_o thing_n of_o the_o world_n to_o feed_v we_o to_o clothe_v we_o to_o strengthen_v we_o and_o to_o refresh_v we_o in_o the_o house_n of_o our_o pilgrimage_n but_o it_o be_v only_o himself_o that_o can_v give_v we_o contentment_n and_o satisfaction_n worldly_n thing_n be_v so_o far_o from_o give_v we_o contentment_n that_o there_o be_v this_o curse_n of_o god_n upon_o they_o all_o that_o whoever_o set_v his_o heart_n and_o affection_n inordinate_o upon_o they_o shall_v never_o be_v satisfy_v with_o they_o for_o as_o the_o wise_a man_n say_v eccles_n 5.10_o he_o that_o love_v silver_n shall_v not_o be_v satisfy_v with_o silver_n nor_o he_o that_o love_v abundance_n with_o increase_n now_o the_o true_a reason_n why_o worldly_a thing_n nay_o throw_v in_o the_o whole_a world_n itself_o yet_o be_v there_o a_o vacuity_n and_o hollowness_n that_o can_v be_v fill_v up_o thereby_o moreover_o the_o soul_n of_o man_n be_v of_o a_o noble_a and_o excellent_a be_v and_o next_o to_o angel_n the_o top_n and_o flower_n of_o the_o creation_n and_o all_o thing_n here_o below_o be_v inferior_a to_o it_o nay_o they_o be_v dregs_o and_o lees_n compare_v to_o it_o now_o that_o which_o
be_v our_o happiness_n must_v not_o be_v something_o below_o but_o something_o better_a than_o ourselves_o because_o it_o must_v perfect_v we_o but_o all_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n be_v worse_o than_o ourselves_o and_o the_o soul_n in_o cleave_v to_o they_o be_v secret_o conscious_a to_o itself_o that_o it_o do_v both_o debase_v and_o disparage_v be_v own_o excellency_n in_o adhere_v to_o they_o and_o therefore_o it_o meet_v with_o no_o satisfaction_n in_o they_o for_o so_o long_o as_o all_o thing_n here_o below_o be_v both_o less_o than_o the_o soul_n and_o worse_o than_o the_o soul_n complacential_a manner_n to_o conspire_v together_o how_o to_o give_v up_o themselves_o whole_o and_o entire_o to_o himself_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o no_o good_a short_a of_o the_o high_a and_o the_o chief_a good_a can_v satisfy_v the_o soul_n of_o man_n now_o this_o good_a be_v only_a god_n himself_o and_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o he_o in_o heaven_n be_v that_o which_o only_o give_v full_a contentment_n to_o the_o soul_n in_o all_o its_o capacity_n and_o desire_n the_o happiness_n of_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n shall_v be_v the_o same_o which_o god_n himself_o enjoy_v now_o the_o infinite_a blessedness_n of_o god_n consist_v in_o the_o fruition_n and_o enjoyment_n of_o himself_o for_o himself_o be_v his_o own_o happiness_n now_o this_o also_o be_v to_o be_v the_o happiness_n of_o the_o saint_n in_o heaven_n even_o a_o intimate_a and_o immediate_a enjoyment_n of_o god_n and_o sure_o this_o must_v needs_o be_v infinite_o satisfactory_a to_o they_o enlarge_v therefore_o o_o holy_a soul_n make_v room_n for_o thy_o own_o glory_n and_o happiness_n spread_v forth_o thyself_o wide_a yea_o stretch_v out_o thy_o desire_n as_o large_a as_o heaven_n itself_o for_o the_o god_n of_o heaven_n will_v fill_v and_o satisfy_v they_o six_o and_o last_o god_n be_v a_o permanent_a and_o everlasting_a good_a and_o therefore_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o he_o must_v nèeds_o be_v a_o in_o he_o be_v god_n as_o he_o be_v a_o pure_a and_o unmixed_a good_a and_o in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o he_o be_v there_o no_o mixture_n of_o any_o thing_n that_o be_v evil_a as_o there_o be_v not_o be_v god_n the_o most_o suitable_a good_a unto_o all_o our_o desire_n as_o he_o be_v be_v he_o also_o a_o all-sufficient_a good_a able_a to_o relieve_v and_o supply_v all_o our_o want_n and_o necessity_n as_o he_o be_v be_v god_n also_o a_o satify_v good_a that_o can_v give_v full_a contentment_n to_o the_o soul_n as_o he_o can_v yet_o if_o he_o be_v not_o a_o permanent_a and_o a_o abide_n good_a the_o soul_n can_v not_o be_v happy_a in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o he_o for_o the_o thought_n of_o lose_v so_o great_a a_o good_a though_o it_o be_v after_o million_o of_o year_n enjoyment_n thereof_o be_v that_o which_o will_v fill_v the_o soul_n with_o bitterness_n and_o sorrow_n while_o it_o do_v enjoy_v it_o o_o how_o will_v the_o soul_n sigh_n and_o say_v it_o be_v true_a in_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o god_n i_o now_o partake_v of_o a_o great_a happiness_n yea_o the_o great_a that_o i_o can_v possible_o enjoy_v but_o alas_o there_o be_v a_o time_n a_o come_n when_o i_o must_v part_v with_o this_o my_o happiness_n o_o my_o soul_n thou_o shall_v not_o be_v always_o thus_o happy_a thy_o blessedness_n be_v every_o moment_n wear_v away_o thy_o happiness_n grow_v less_o and_o less_o daily_a because_o the_o time_n of_o enjoy_v it_o grow_v short_a and_o short_a and_o must_v not_o yea_o can_v it_o be_v otherwise_o but_o that_o the_o thought_n of_o lose_v so_o great_a a_o happiness_n divine_a assistance_n they_o will_v be_v enable_v not_o only_o to_o stand_v up_o against_o all_o the_o enemy_n of_o their_o peace_n but_o with_o a_o holy_a joy_n and_o triumph_n to_o vanquish_v and_o saint_n holiness_n be_v there_o come_v to_o its_o full_a growth_n and_o high_a perfection_n for_o there_o be_v holiness_n and_o nothing_o but_o holiness_n now_o grace_n and_o holiness_n in_o a_o saint_n here_o be_v the_o same_o with_o that_o glory_n that_o be_v the_o expect_a consummation_n of_o a_o saint_n happiness_n hereafter_o it_o show_v the_o great_a necessity_n that_o there_o be_v great_a unsuitableness_n between_o heaven_n and_o a_o unholy_a soul_n first_o there_o be_v a_o agreeableness_n yea_o a_o sameness_n between_o holiness_n and_o heaven_n the_o glory_n of_o heaven_n lie_v not_o in_o this_o that_o a_o saint_n shall_v there_o outshine_v the_o brightness_n of_o the_o sun_n that_o there_o he_o shall_v not_o be_v expose_v to_o heat_n to_o cold_a to_o nakedness_n or_o want_n that_o there_o he_o shall_v be_v free_a from_o disease_n sickness_n and_o death_n itself_o that_o he_o shall_v not_o stand_v in_o need_n of_o meat_n drink_v and_o clothing_n no_o nor_o that_o he_o shall_v always_o be_v in_o the_o hear_n of_o melodious_a song_n and_o hallilujah_n of_o saint_n and_o angel_n these_o thing_n indeed_o be_v in_o heaven_n
what_o it_o be_v to_o have_v this_o god_n to_o be_v our_o god_n and_o true_o no_o more_o be_v we_o able_a to_o tell_v what_o it_o be_v to_o have_v the_o heaven_n of_o god_n to_o be_v we_o and_o as_o god_n himself_o so_o the_o heaven_n in_o which_o god_n dwell_v both_o which_o shall_v be_v the_o reward_n of_o the_o saint_n hereafter_o by_o reason_n of_o their_o infinite_a greatness_n and_o glory_n be_v better_o know_v to_o we_o by_o what_o they_o be_v not_o than_o by_o what_o they_o be_v and_o we_o may_v best_o conceive_v of_o that_o recompense_n of_o reward_n that_o the_o saint_n shall_v thy_o soul_n why_o in_o heaven_n all_o those_o cloud_n shall_v vanish_v away_o and_o thou_o shall_v have_v such_o clear_a and_o full_a discovery_n of_o god_n love_n and_o favour_n and_o the_o light_n in_o all_o age_n of_o who_o we_o have_v either_o read_v in_o scripture_n or_o hear_v of_o in_o history_n who_o have_v be_v eminent_a in_o grace_n and_o holiness_n some_o for_o their_o humility_n some_o for_o their_o meekness_n some_o for_o faith_n some_o for_o patience_n some_o for_o self-denial_n some_o for_o zeal_n some_o for_o contempt_n of_o the_o world_n and_o the_o like_a be_v all_o these_o bless_a saint_n of_o god_n live_v together_o at_o one_o time_n and_o in_o one_o place_n here_o on_o earth_n as_o they_o now_o be_v in_o heaven_n will_v not_o every_o godly_a man_n be_v great_o desirous_a if_o it_o be_v possible_a to_o see_v they_o and_o to_o live_v with_o they_o especial_o if_o there_o be_v none_o but_o such_o among_o they_o that_o they_o may_v be_v particular_o and_o distinct_o acquaint_v with_o they_o and_o will_v not_o this_o knowledge_n tend_v much_o to_o their_o delight_n and_o satisfaction_n sure_o it_o will_v and_o be_v it_o irrational_a to_o suppose_v that_o when_o all_o the_o saint_n that_o have_v live_v from_o the_o begin_n of_o the_o world_n unto_o the_o end_n of_o it_o shall_v all_o meet_v together_o in_o heaven_n that_o they_o may_v be_v desirous_a of_o a_o particular_a knowledge_n of_o one_o another_o then_o or_o be_v it_o so_o delightful_a and_o therefore_o so_o desirable_a a_o thing_n to_o be_v acquaint_v with_o the_o saint_n of_o god_n particular_o when_o they_o live_v here_o on_o earth_n when_o they_o be_v man_n of_o like_a passion_n and_o infirmity_n as_o we_o now_o be_v and_o will_v it_o not_o be_v a_o much_o more_o desire_n of_o thy_o soul_n after_o it_o can_v thou_o in_o the_o whole_a universe_n find_v out_o better_a society_n in_o converse_v with_o who_o thou_o can_v enjoy_v such_o soul-satisfying_a pleasure_n yea_o such_o ravish_a joy_n and_o delight_n as_o be_v there_o to_o be_v find_v there_o be_v holy_a angel_n that_o never_o sin_v who_o nature_n as_o well_o as_o who_o happiness_n in_o this_o state_n of_o mortality_n be_v beyond_o the_o reach_n of_o thy_o understanding_n to_o fathom_n there_o be_v glorify_v saint_n advance_v to_o that_o perfection_n of_o grace_n and_o holiness_n that_o they_o shall_v never_o sin_v more_o there_o be_v the_o bless_a and_o never_o to_o be_v sufficient_o admire_v saviour_n and_o redeemer_n of_o sinner_n the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n who_o as_o he_o once_o in_o our_o nature_n shed_v his_o blood_n here_o on_o earth_n to_o purchase_v heaven_n for_o believer_n so_o be_v he_o now_o reside_v in_o the_o same_o nature_n there_o prepare_v place_n for_o they_o ready_a to_o receive_v they_o into_o the_o embrace_n of_o his_o love_n and_o favour_n yea_o in_o that_o glorious_a place_n there_o be_v that_o which_o shall_v much_o more_o excite_v the_o desire_n of_o believer_n after_o it_o for_o there_o be_v the_o infinite_o great_a and_o glorious_a god_n who_o excellency_n and_o perfection_n be_v such_o that_o as_o none_o can_v understand_v none_o can_v make_v know_v so_o none_o can_v bear_v the_o discovery_n of_o they_o such_o dazzle_a excellency_n of_o glory_n and_o beauty_n be_v there_o in_o the_o face_n of_o god_n that_o angel_n themselves_o be_v not_o able_a to_o behold_v they_o and_o yet_o so_o lovely_a and_o desirable_a a_o object_n be_v he_o that_o angel_n can_v refrain_v from_o look_v on_o he_o and_o certain_o if_o the_o great_a and_o holy_a god_n shall_v display_v but_o a_o little_a of_o himself_o in_o his_o glory_n and_o beauty_n unto_o the_o soul_n of_o a_o believer_n shall_v he_o open_v though_o but_o a_o little_a of_o the_o infinite_a treasure_n of_o his_o goodness_n unto_o the_o view_n of_o the_o soul_n o_o with_o what_o ravishment_n of_o joy_n will_v that_o soul_n press_v into_o the_o presence_n of_o god_n and_o with_o what_o a_o holy_a kind_n of_o impatience_n will_v it_o throw_v itself_o into_o his_o arm_n what_o need_n will_v there_o be_v of_o set_v bound_n to_o the_o mount_n to_o keep_v such_o a_o soul_n from_o break_v through_o unto_o the_o lord_n the_o happiness_n of_o heaven_n be_v so_o great_a that_o have_v not_o god_n merciful_o conceal_v from_o we_o the_o infinite_a excellency_n and_o glory_n thereof_o in_o a_o great_a measure_n our_o desire_n will_v be_v so_o vehement_o bend_v upon_o it_o that_o we_o shall_v be_v under_o such_o a_o impatiency_n of_o spirit_n after_o the_o enjoyment_n of_o it_o as_o will_v render_v we_o unfit_a for_o any_o employment_n that_o god_n call_v we_o to_o in_o this_o world_n some_o therefore_o upon_o this_o account_n have_v take_v notice_n of_o the_o infinite_a wisdom_n of_o god_n in_o engage_v the_o soul_n in_o so_o near_o and_o dear_a a_o union_n with_o the_o body_n that_o it_o may_v have_v such_o a_o care_n for_o and_o love_n towards_o it_o as_o may_v tend_v to_o its_o preservation_n and_o not_o be_v desirous_a of_o quit_v its_o habitation_n with_o it_o yea_o some_o of_o the_o heathen_n themselves_o have_v observe_v the_o wisdom_n of_o god_n in_o conceal_v the_o happiness_n of_o separate_a soul_n that_o man_n may_v be_v content_v to_o live_v out_o that_o time_n god_n have_v allot_v to_o they_o in_o this_o world_n alas_o the_o most_o and_o the_o best_a of_o we_o see_v and_o know_v but_o little_a of_o these_o thing_n and_o what_o we_o do_v see_v be_v but_o through_o a_o glass_n dark_o and_o that_o be_v the_o reason_n our_o affection_n go_v not_o out_o more_o earnest_o after_o they_o do_v we_o know_v and_o understand_v more_o of_o heaven_n and_o the_o glory_n and_o happiness_n thereof_o we_o shall_v with_o a_o holy_a impatiency_n of_o desire_n long_o after_o it_o for_o be_v it_o not_o in_o heaven_n that_o we_o shall_v never_o sin_v more_o never_o offend_v god_n more_o never_o wound_v our_o conscience_n more_o never_o do_v any_o thing_n that_o shall_v either_o break_v our_o peace_n disturb_v our_o joy_n or_o endanger_v
and_o every_o month_n as_o a_o year_n yea_o as_o a_o age_n until_o that_o bless_a time_n do_v come_v but_o o_o how_o little_a of_o this_o holy_a long_v of_o soul_n after_o christ_n and_o heaven_n be_v there_o to_o be_v find_v among_o christian_n now_o most_o of_o those_o that_o call_v themselves_o by_o that_o name_n rest_v upon_o hope_n and_o probability_n of_o their_o interest_n in_o that_o state_n of_o blessedness_n never_o seek_v to_o attain_v unto_o the_o riches_n of_o the_o full_a assurance_n of_o hope_n accompany_v with_o joy_n unspeakable_a and_o full_a of_o glory_n but_o sure_o i_o be_o such_o a_o frame_n of_o spirit_n have_v not_o always_o be_v enough_o to_o satisfy_v some_o christian_n in_o their_o pursuit_n after_o heaven_n oh_o with_o what_o ravishment_n of_o joy_n and_o delight_n have_v i_o both_o hear_v and_o read_v some_o holy_a soul_n express_v their_o long_a desire_n after_o christ_n and_o heaven_n there_o be_v a_o certain_a noble_a person_n who_o i_o well_o know_v from_o under_o who_o own_o hand_n write_v i_o copy_v out_o this_o follow_a relation_n concern_v herself_o be_v employ_v in_o holy_a meditation_n which_o be_v both_o her_o daily_a practice_n as_o also_o her_o daily_a delight_n and_o solace_n and_o contemplate_v of_o the_o joy_n of_o heaven_n and_o how_o to_o secure_v her_o interest_n in_o that_o state_n of_o blessedness_n she_o do_v with_o great_a desire_n of_o soul_n as_o her_o own_o word_n be_v strive_v to_o take_v the_o kingdom_n above_o with_o a_o holy_a violence_n and_o to_o storm_n heaven_n by_o importunate_a prayer_n and_o god_n be_v please_v as_o she_o add_v bless_v his_o name_n to_o carry_v she_o up_o as_o it_o be_v unto_o mount_n nebo_n and_o from_o thence_o to_o give_v she_o a_o prospect_n of_o the_o heavenly_a canaan_n by_o the_o sight_n whereof_o as_o one_o in_o a_o ecstasy_n of_o joy_n she_o cry_v out_o lord_z i_o will_v not_o live_v here_o always_o for_o i_o be_o now_o convince_v it_o be_v better_a for_o soul_n after_o god_n and_o heaven_n be_v the_o state_v frame_n which_o be_v common_o attain_v by_o all_o christian_n much_o less_o do_v i_o not_o think_v that_o none_o be_v true_o godly_a but_o such_o as_o attain_v to_o this_o frame_n of_o spirit_n for_o i_o believe_v there_o be_v a_o great_a number_n of_o holy_a soul_n that_o daily_o go_v to_o heaven_n without_o they_o but_o yet_o be_v it_o a_o state_n that_o have_v be_v attain_v by_o some_o and_o may_v be_v attain_v still_o by_o other_o and_o true_o such_o a_o heaven_n upon_o earth_n as_o be_v hereby_o enjoy_v by_o such_o holy_a soul_n shall_v be_v motive_n sufficient_a to_o excite_v and_o provoke_v christian_n to_o a_o diligent_a pursuit_n hereof_o the_o effect_n whereof_o be_v joy_n unspeakable_a and_o glorious_a to_o conclude_v
