professor_n keep_v up_o a_o green_a and_o flourish_a profession_n that_o know_v not_o what_o mortification_n mean_v and_o it_o may_v be_v be_v clean_a in_o their_o own_o eye_n yet_o be_v not_o purge_v from_o their_o sin_n and_o i_o doubt_v not_o also_o but_o that_o for_o some_o time_n there_o may_v be_v some_o increase_n of_o true_a fruit_n where_o there_o be_v no_o growth_n downward_o no_o advance_v in_o mortification_n indeed_o it_o will_v be_v hard_a for_o any_o long_a time_n to_o keep_v up_o a_o green_a profession_n when_o the_o root_n be_v wither_v or_o when_o a_o man_n be_v go_v back_o in_o the_o secret_a part_n of_o religion_n if_o the_o root_n of_o sin_n be_v lively_a and_o strong_a it_o will_v be_v hard_a to_o keep_v it_o underground_o now_o in_o short_a there_o be_v these_o thing_n which_o speak_v out_o the_o strength_n and_o liveliness_n of_o sin_n in_o a_o man_n 1._o when_o a_o man_n make_v a_o mock_n of_o sin_n and_o thus_o bid_v a_o defiance_n to_o the_o under_o it_o mortify_v not_o sin_n but_o the_o conviction_n of_o conscience_n and_o the_o common_a motion_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o herein_o they_o be_v often_o successful_a whereas_o a_o believer_n accuse_v himself_o and_o join_v active_o with_o the_o spirit_n to_o convince_v of_o sin_n and_o to_o mortify_v it_o psalm_n 51.1_o 21._o dan._n 9.5_o 6._o conviction_n come_v on_o they_o and_o they_o many_o poor_a soul_n complain_v of_o and_o 1._o what_o ought_v we_o to_o judge_n of_o it_o how_o may_v a_o poor_a soul_n be_v help_v out_o of_o it_o will_v appear_v in_o what_o we_o shall_v speak_v to_o this_o case_n for_o the_o first_o of_o these_o i_o answer_v that_o in_o some_o case_n a_o poor_a creature_n may_v make_v use_n of_o paul_n encouragement_n even_o when_o the_o body_n of_o death_n
