just_a and_o equal_a know_v that_o you_o also_o have_v a_o master_n in_o heaven_n these_o last_o day_n well-beloved_a brethren_n we_o enter_v into_o the_o particular_a precept_n &_o exhortation_n concern_v particular_a estate_n of_o man_n and_o woman_n and_o first_o we_o speak_v of_o the_o duty_n of_o wife_n to_o their_o husband_n and_o again_o of_o the_o duty_n of_o husband_n to_o their_o wife_n next_o we_o speak_v of_o the_o duty_n of_o child_n to_o their_o parent_n and_o again_o of_o the_o duty_n of_o parent_n to_o their_o child_n now_o the_o last_o estate_n in_o a_o family_n be_v the_o estate_n of_o master_n and_o servant_n therefore_o we_o have_v to_o speak_v of_o the_o duty_n of_o the_o servant_n to_o the_o master_n and_o again_o of_o the_o master_n to_o the_o servant_n because_o there_o be_v a_o mutual_a duty_n require_v and_o they_o be_v so_o bind_v the_o one_o to_o the_o other_o that_o they_o can_v be_v separate_a to_o come_v then_o to_o the_o word_n there_o be_v one_o precept_n give_v to_o servant_n servant_n say_v he_o obey_v your_o master_n then_o after_o he_o insist_o upon_o this_o obedience_n and_o describe_v it_o large_o first_o he_o set_v down_o the_o matter_n of_o it_o in_o what_o thing_n they_o shall_v obey_v second_o he_o come_v to_o the_o form_n of_o obedience_n and_o describe_v it_o three_o he_o go_v to_o the_o fountain_n and_o ground_n of_o all_o duty_n which_o be_v the_o heart_n then_o last_o to_o move_v servant_n to_o this_o obedience_n he_o bring_v in_o two_o argument_n the_o first_o be_v for_o that_o rich_a be_v the_o reward_n in_o heaven_n and_o the_o second_o be_v for_o that_o recompense_n that_o god_n shall_v give_v to_o master_n who_o do_v not_o their_o duty_n to_o their_o servant_n to_o the_o word_n servant_n say_v he_o in_o these_o day_n when_o the_o apostle_n direct_v this_o precept_n proper_o here_o by_o servant_n be_v understand_v such_o as_o be_v in_o a_o hard_a estate_n slave_n buy_v and_o sell_v like_o beast_n over_o who_o the_o master_n have_v power_n time_n servant_n in_o the_o apostle_n time_n permit_v by_o law_n to_o slay_v and_o save_v they_o as_o over_o beast_n so_o their_o estate_n be_v hard_a and_o heavy_a second_o you_o must_v understand_v they_o be_v servant_n convert_v to_o christ_n and_o their_o estate_n in_o that_o case_n be_v bless_v three_o they_o be_v for_o the_o most_o part_n such_o as_o have_v to_o their_o master_n infidel_n not_o yet_o convert_v to_o the_o faith_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o so_o be_v the_o more_o rigorous_a for_o oh_o the_o cruelty_n of_o the_o infidel_n over_o the_o christian_a now_o in_o respect_n of_o their_o estate_n hear_v of_o the_o liberty_n of_o the_o gospel_n they_o mistake_v it_o and_o begin_v to_o think_v that_o christ_n and_o his_o gospel_n come_v to_o destroy_v policy_n and_o law_n that_o bind_v up_o commonweal_n and_o therefore_o many_o of_o they_o begin_v to_o turn_v grace_n into_o wantonness_n and_o begin_v to_o leave_v their_o master_n think_v that_o the_o gospel_n make_v a_o equality_n of_o person_n as_o the_o anabaptist_n teach_v at_o this_o day_n therefore_o the_o apostle_n perceive_v this_o he_o direct_v this_o precept_n to_o they_o recommend_v obedience_n notwithstanding_o of_o the_o gospel_n thou_o be_v a_o brother_n and_o a_o sister_n and_o yet_o a_o servant_n therefore_o obey_v now_o howbeit_o proper_o and_o in_o the_o first_o room_n this_o precept_n be_v direct_v to_o servant_n that_o be_v slave_n buy_v and_o sell_v yet_o it_o be_v extend_v also_o to_o all_o kind_n of_o servant_n it_o pertain_v to_o you_o as_o well_o as_o to_o they_o come_v to_o the_o next_o what_o be_v command_v they_o the_o duty_n be_v obedience_n obey_v say_v he_o he_o that_o be_v a_o servant_n shall_v not_o rule_v but_o be_v bind_v not_o only_o to_o reverence_v he_o in_o word_n but_o also_o to_o obey_v that_o he_o command_v both_o these_o must_v begin_v at_o the_o heart_n otherwise_o thy_o reverence_n and_o obedience_n avail_v not_o now_o the_o apostle_n especial_o insist_o upon_o obedience_n the_o duty_n recommend_v to_o child_n be_v obedience_n and_o the_o like_a be_v recommend_v here_o because_o of_o the_o two_o duty_n obedience_n be_v the_o hard_a it_o be_v a_o easy_a thing_n to_o do_v courtesy_n to_o thy_o master_n to_o put_v off_o thy_o cap_n and_o beck_n but_o here_o be_v all_o the_o gravity_n and_o weight_n of_o the_o matter_n to_o obey_v this_o the_o apostle_n consider_v he_o stick_v most_o on_o it_o howbeit_o under_o it_o all_o point_n of_o duty_n be_v comprehend_v this_o for_o the_o duty_n now_o follow_v the_o person_n to_o who_o it_o appertain_v obey_v who_o not_o every_o one_o but_o your_o lord_n and_o master_n those_o that_o god_n have_v set_v over_o you_o it_o please_v he_o mark_v narrow_o you_o may_v see_v that_o as_o there_o be_v one_o thing_n command_v so_o there_o be_v another_o thing_n forbid_v they_o obey_v they_o in_o thy_o body_n though_o it_o be_v to_o suffer_v hebrews_n you_o shall_v find_v this_o that_o the_o high_a priest_n of_o old_a dare_v never_o enter_v into_o the_o sanctuary_n except_o first_o he_o have_v be_v sprinkle_v with_o blood_n and_o this_o be_v the_o blood_n of_o bullock_n the_o figure_n of_o jesus_n christ_n so_o except_o thou_o appear_v die_v over_o with_o the_o blood_n of_o jesus_n no_o stand_n for_o thou_o before_o god_n his_o tribunal_n if_o you_o will_v then_o have_v a_o garment_n seek_v this_o garment_n never_o rest_v till_o thou_o get_v it_o and_o if_o thou_o appear_v in_o this_o garment_n thou_o have_v this_o advantage_n howbeit_o thou_o be_v full_a of_o spot_n the_o lord_n have_v no_o eye_n to_o thy_o sin_n but_o accept_v of_o thou_o in_o that_o bloody_a raiment_n and_o forget_v all_o thy_o sin_n and_o thy_o action_n be_v accept_v in_o that_o blood_n of_o jesus_n but_o alas_o the_o want_n of_o the_o knowledge_n of_o sin_n this_o dead_a conscience_n that_o let_v we_o not_o feel_v the_o weight_n and_o burden_n conscience_n a_o dead_a conscience_n of_o sin_n be_v the_o cause_n why_o we_o account_v not_o of_o this_o blood_n of_o jesus_n now_o brethren_n there_o be_v a_o place_n in_o the_o sixth_o chapter_n to_o the_o ephesian_n i_o will_v compare_v with_o this_o place_n recommend_v the_o duty_n of_o master_n in_o the_o nine_o verse_n he_o use_v the_o same_o argument_n that_o be_v here_o he_o use_v it_o there_o as_o a_o terrible_a argument_n to_o the_o oppressor_n but_o here_o he_o bring_v it_o in_o as_o a_o comfort_n to_o the_o oppress_a then_o shall_v a_o argument_n both_o be_v comfortable_a and_o terrible_a yes_o then_o mark_v the_o lesson_n that_o that_o be_v in_o god_n terrible_a to_o the_o proud_a and_o oppressor_n in_o the_o world_n the_o same_o thing_n to_o the_o poor_a oppress_v once_o that_o be_v god_n it_o be_v so_o sweet_a and_o comfortable_a as_o no_o tongue_n can_v tell_v the_o fiery_a wrath_n of_o god_n that_o will_v terrify_v the_o king_n of_o the_o world_n and_o which_o they_o be_v not_o able_a to_o look_v on_o will_v be_v so_o comfortable_a as_o no_o tongue_n can_v tell_v to_o the_o poor_a silly_a body_n that_o he_o will_v creep_v in_o under_o it_o and_o lurk_v there_o yea_o he_o will_v seek_v to_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n to_o save_v he_o from_o the_o wrath_n of_o the_o tyrant_n of_o the_o world_n so_o there_o be_v nothing_o in_o god_n but_o be_v comfortable_a to_o his_o child_n as_o by_o the_o contrary_a there_o be_v nothing_o in_o he_o but_o the_o wicked_a abhor_v it_o yea_o even_o his_o mercy_n yea_o they_o will_v run_v if_o it_o be_v forth_o of_o the_o world_n to_o be_v out_o of_o his_o sight_n but_o they_o shall_v not_o escape_v 22_o job._n 21._o 22_o his_o curse_n so_o then_o acquaint_v you_o with_o god_n and_o clothe_v you_o with_o that_o garment_n that_o he_o may_v be_v comfortable_a every_o way_n to_o you_o this_o much_o for_o the_o duty_n of_o servant_n now_o we_o come_v to_o the_o duty_n of_o master_n which_o be_v set_v down_o in_o 1._o here_o begin_v the_o four_o chapter_n vers_fw-la 1._o the_o begin_n of_o the_o four_o chapter_n you_o master_n say_v he_o do_v unto_o your_o servant_n that_o which_o be_v before_o be_v vain_a and_o superficial_a be_v make_v a_o solid_a body_n so_o there_o be_v not_o a_o solid_a heart_n but_o it_o that_o have_v jesus_n close_v in_o it_o i_o tell_v thou_o thy_o heart_n be_v but_o as_o a_o empty_a bag_n if_o thou_o get_v not_o jesus_n into_o it_o therefore_o cry_v ever_o jesus_n fill_v my_o empty_a heart_n nevertheless_o fool_n set_v not_o great_o by_o this_o but_o
