all_o the_o want_v man_n be_v subject_a unto_o many_o physician_n and_o surgeon_n have_v dive_v into_o the_o several_a and_o various_a kind_n of_o disease_n incident_a unto_o the_o body_n of_o man_n answ_n for_o answer_v to_o that_o let_v i_o tell_v you_o that_o there_o be_v nothing_o in_o god_n wherein_o he_o may_v be_v useful_a for_o the_o good_a of_o a_o person_n but_o the_o lord_n do_v proportionable_a recompense_n be_v make_v before_o the_o sin_n have_v be_v discharge_v from_o off_o the_o person_n commit_v the_o same_o therefore_o the_o psalmist_n speak_v admirable_o when_o he_o what_o the_o issue_n of_o this_o advocateship_n of_o christ_n be_v propose_v in_o the_o last_o word_n of_o the_o text_n he_o be_v the_o propitiation_n for_o our_o sin_n concern_v the_o first_o what_o he_o must_v hold_v his_o tongue_n belove_a be_v christ_n our_o advocate_n a_o novice_n and_o not_o graduate_v if_o he_o be_v not_o call_v to_o the_o bar_n though_o he_o can_v plead_v never_o so_o excellent_o with_o god_n he_o can_v not_o be_v hear_v god_n will_v give_v a_o call_n before_o he_o hear_v so_o christ_n be_v call_v yet_o again_o when_o man_n be_v call_v to_o be_v counsellor_n yet_o they_o can_v plead_v at_o every_o bar._n at_o the_o common-plea_n none_o plead_v but_o a_o sergeant_n at_o law_n though_o many_o counsellor_n be_v able_a lawyer_n &_o better_o gift_v then_o some_o sergeant_n yet_o this_o will_v not_o suffice_v he_o be_v not_o call_v to_o that_o bar_n in_o special_a and_o therefore_o they_o must_v not_o come_v till_o they_o have_v the_o call_v as_o the_o sergeant_n have_v the_o lord_n do_v not_o bid_v we_o to_o seek_v his_o face_n without_o a_o mediator_n but_o he_o that_o be_v the_o advocate_n at_o the_o court_n of_o heaven_n be_v the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n that_o be_v one_o man_n the_o man_n christ_n he_o that_o have_v the_o best_a rhetoric_n in_o the_o world_n to_o plead_v his_o cause_n must_v have_v he_o as_o a_o sergeant_n to_o plead_v for_o he_o he_o can_v be_v admit_v into_o this_o court_n to_o plead_v for_o himself_o the_o minister_n of_o god_n be_v in_o some_o sort_n the_o pleader_n of_o our_o cause_n yet_o they_o themselves_o must_v have_v this_o sergeant_n to_o plead_v for_o they_o when_o they_o come_v to_o this_o tribunal_n of_o god_n and_o he_o alone_o be_v admit_v to_o it_o and_o it_o be_v a_o great_a matter_n to_o know_v what_o kind_n of_o christ_n he_o be_v that_o be_v single_v out_o and_o than_o you_o must_v know_v that_o if_o all_o the_o world_n offer_v this_o service_n unto_o you_o to_o plead_v your_o cause_n before_o god_n it_o will_v not_o avail_v if_o this_o man_n christ_n be_v not_o free_o assign_v and_o call_v to_o plead_v your_o cause_n you_o be_v go_v for_o ever_o nothing_o every_o farthing_n and_o that_o he_o be_v satisfy_v and_o that_o upon_o that_o satisfaction_n his_o people_n shall_v be_v discharge_v now_o this_o plea_n be_v ground_v upon_o justice_n itself_o observe_v but_o how_o full_o and_o clear_o the_o apostle_n speak_v the_o same_o thing_n in_o the_o 1._o of_o john_n 1.7_o the_o apostle_n tell_v we_o express_o that_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n his_o confession_n of_o sin_n and_o forgiveness_n of_o sin_n that_o confession_n can_v balance_v forgiveness_n and_o so_o consequent_o make_v it_o a_o act_n of_o justice_n no_o the_o apostle_n do_v ground_n the_o force_n of_o justice_n upon_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n that_o be_v shed_v therefore_o if_o you_o do_v observe_v it_o well_o you_o shall_v find_v that_o the_o apostle_n speak_v of_o confession_n by_o way_n of_o anticipation_n or_o prevention_n of_o fear_n you_o know_v the_o common_a proverb_n in_o the_o world_n concern_v a_o malefactor_n apprehend_v be_v let_v he_o confess_v
