street_n and_o be_v weary_a i_o turn_v my_o back_n to_o a_o wall_n and_o lean_v upon_o my_o staff_n over-against_o i_o be_v four_o gentleman_n discourse_v together_o after_o a_o while_n one_o of_o they_o come_v to_o i_o and_o speak_v to_o i_o in_o a_o language_n that_o i_o understand_v not_o i_o tell_v he_o i_o be_v a_o englishman_n and_o understand_v not_o what_o he_o speak_v he_o answer_v i_o in_o plain_a english_a that_o he_o understand_v i_o and_o be_v himself_o bear_v near_o wisbich_n in_o lincolnshire_n then_o i_o relate_v to_o he_o my_o sad_a condition_n and_o he_o take_v compassion_n on_o i_o take_v i_o with_o he_o provide_v for_o i_o lodging_n and_o diet_n and_o by_o his_o interest_n with_o a_o master_n of_o a_o ship_n bind_v for_o england_n procure_v my_o passage_n and_o bring_v i_o on_o shipboard_n he_o bestow_v wine_n and_o strong_a water_n on_o i_o and_o at_o his_o return_n give_v i_o eight_o stivers_n and_o commend_v i_o to_o the_o care_n of_o the_o master_n of_o the_o ship_n who_o land_v i_o safe_a at_o dover_n from_o whence_o i_o make_v shift_n to_o get_v to_o london_n where_o be_v furnish_v with_o necessary_n i_o come_v into_o the_o country_n thus_o honour_a sir_n i_o have_v give_v you_o a_o true_a account_n of_o my_o great_a suffering_n and_o happy_a deliverance_n by_o the_o mercy_n and_o goodness_n of_o god_n my_o most_o gracious_a father_n in_o jesus_n christ_n my_o saviour_n and_o redeemer_n to_o who_o name_n be_v ascribe_v all_o honour_n praise_n and_o glory_n i_o conclude_v and_o rest_v your_o worship_n be_v in_o all_o dutiful_a respect_n william_n harrison_n sir_n it_o have_v not_o be_v any_o forgetfulness_n in_o i_o you_o have_v no_o soon_o hear_v from_o i_o but_o my_o unhappy_a distemper_n seize_v on_o my_o right_a hand_n soon_o after_o my_o come_n down_o into_o the_o country_n so_o that_o till_o now_o i_o have_v be_v whole_o deprive_v of_o the_o use_n of_o it_o i_o have_v herewith_o send_v you_o a_o short_a narrative_n of_o that_o no_o less_o strange_a than_o unhappy_a business_n which_o some_o year_n since_o happen_v in_o my_o neighbourhood_n the_o truth_n of_o every_o particular_a whereof_o i_o be_o able_a to_o attest_v and_o i_o think_v it_o may_v very_o well_o be_v reckon_v among_o the_o most_o remarkable_a occurrence_n of_o this_o age_n you_o may_v dispose_v of_o it_o as_o you_o please_v and_o in_o whatever_o else_o i_o can_v serve_v you_o you_o may_v free_o command_v i_o as_o sir_n your_o most_o affectionate_a kinsman_n and_o humble_a servant_n burton_n aug._n 23_o 1676._o tho._n overbury_n many_o question_n the_o truth_n of_o this_o account_n mr._n harrison_n give_v of_o himself_o and_o his_o transportation_n believe_v he_o be_v never_o out_o of_o england_n but_o there_o be_v no_o question_n of_o perry_n tell_v a_o formal_a false_a story_n to_o hang_v himself_o his_o mother_n and_o his_o brother_n and_o since_o this_o of_o which_o we_o be_v assure_v be_v no_o less_o incredible_a than_o that_o of_o which_o we_o doubt_v it_o may_v induce_v we_o to_o suspend_v hard_a thought_n of_o mr._n harrison_n till_o time_n the_o great_a discoverer_n of_o truth_n shall_v bring_v to_o light_v this_o dark_a and_o mysterious_a business_n that_o mr._n harrison_n be_v absent_a from_o his_o habitation_n employment_n and_o relation_n near_o two_o year_n be_v certain_a and_o if_o not_o carry_v away_o as_o he_o affirm_v no_o probable_a reason_n can_v be_v give_v for_o his_o absence_n he_o live_v plentiful_o and_o happy_o in_o the_o service_n of_o that_o honourable_a family_n to_o which_o he_o have_v be_v then_o relate_v above_o fifty_o year_n with_o the_o reputation_n of_o a_o just_a and_o faithful_a servant_n and_o have_v all_o his_o day_n be_v a_o man_n of_o sober_a life_n and_o conversation_n can_v now_o reasonable_o be_v think_v in_o his_o old-age_n so_o far_o to_o have_v misbehave_v himself_o as_o in_o such_o a_o manner_n voluntary_o to_o have_v forsake_v his_o wife_n his_o child_n and_o his_o stewardship_n and_o to_o leave_v behind_o he_o as_o he_o then_o do_v a_o considerable_a sum_n of_o his_o lady_n money_n in_o his_o house_n we_o can_v therefore_o in_o reason_n and_o charity_n but_o believe_v that_o mr._n harrison_n be_v forcible_o carry_v away_o but_o by_o who_o or_o by_o who_o procurement_n be_v the_o question_n those_o who_o he_o affirm_v do_v it_o he_o withal_o affirm_v never_o before_o to_o have_v see_v and_o that_o he_o see_v not_o his_o servant_n perry_n nor_o his_o mother_n nor_o his_o brother_n the_o evening_n he_o be_v carry_v away_o that_o he_o be_v spirit_v as_o some_o be_v say_v to_o have_v be_v be_v no_o way_n probable_a in_o respect_n he_o be_v a_o old_a and_o infirm_a man_n and_o take_v from_o the_o most_o inland_n part_v of_o the_o nation_n and_o if_o sell_v as_o himself_o apprehend_v he_o be_v for_o seven_o pound_n that_o will_v not_o recompense_v the_o trouble_n and_o charge_n of_o his_o conveyance_n to_o the_o sea_n side_n some_o therefore_o have_v have_v hard_a thought_n of_o his_o elder_a son_n not_o know_v who_o else_o to_o suspect_v and_o believe_v the_o hope_n of_o the_o stewardship_n which_o he_o afterward_o by_o the_o lord_n campden_n favour_n enjoy_v may_v induce_v he_o to_o contrive_v his_o father_n removal_n and_o this_o they_o be_v the_o more_o confirm_v in_o from_o his_o misbehaviour_n in_o it_o but_o on_o the_o other_o side_n it_o be_v hard_a to_o think_v the_o son_n shall_v be_v know_v of_o his_o father_n be_v transportation_n and_o consequent_o of_o these_o unhappy_a person_n '_o innocency_n as_o to_o the_o murder_n of_o he_o and_o yet_o prosecute_v they_o to_o death_n as_o he_o do_v and_o when_o condemn_v shall_v be_v the_o occasion_n of_o their_o be_v convey_v above_o twenty_o mile_n to_o suffer_v near_o campden_n and_o to_o procure_v john_n perry_n to_o be_v there_o hang_v in_o chain_n where_o he_o may_v daily_o see_v he_o and_o himself_o to_o stand_v at_o the_o foot_n of_o the_o ladder_n when_o they_o be_v all_o execute_v as_o likewise_o he_o do_v these_o consideration_n as_o they_o make_v it_o improbable_a the_o son_n shall_v be_v privy_a to_o his_o father_n be_v transportation_n so_o they_o render_v the_o whole_a matter_n the_o more_o dark_a and_o mysterious_a which_o we_o must_v therefore_o leave_v unto_o he_o who_o alone_o know_v all_o thing_n in_o his_o due_a time_n to_o reveal_v and_o bring_v to_o light_n finis_fw-la
