power_n and_o the_o extreme_n of_o folly_n into_o which_o it_o drive_v they_o he_o begin_v this_o chapter_n with_o a_o correction_n of_o those_o error_n that_o be_v in_o religion_n which_o be_v the_o only_a remedy_n indeed_o the_o only_a comfort_n we_o have_v against_o all_o the_o trouble_n to_o which_o we_o be_v subject_a in_o this_o world_n but_o such_o be_v the_o vanity_n of_o mankind_n they_o spoil_v their_o very_a remedy_n and_o take_v away_o all_o the_o virtue_n of_o that_o which_o shall_v be_v their_o support_n turn_v it_o into_o mere_a ceremony_n whilst_o their_o mind_n remain_v impure_a and_o without_o any_o true_a sense_n of_o god_n for_o they_o do_v not_o consider_v that_o he_o who_o be_v a_o pure_a mind_n himself_o must_v be_v better_o please_v with_o pure_a thought_n and_o affection_n compose_v to_o the_o observance_n of_o his_o will_n and_o acquiescence_n in_o his_o pleasure_n than_o with_o all_o the_o sacrifice_n and_o offering_n in_o the_o world_n which_o the_o wicked_a may_v bring_v he_o as_o well_o as_o the_o good_a to_o prevent_v therefore_o this_o new_a folly_n into_o which_o man_n be_v apt_a to_o run_v when_o they_o intend_v to_o cure_v all_o the_o rest_n solomon_n show_v all_o those_o who_o will_v attain_v true_a tranquillity_n of_o mind_n what_o they_o must_v do_v and_o what_o they_o must_v avoid_v in_o the_o worship_n of_o god_n and_o about_o the_o middle_n of_o the_o chapter_n as_o i_o shall_v observe_v in_o the_o annotation_n proceed_v to_o consider_v the_o last_o of_o those_o four_o thing_n wherein_o man_n place_v their_o happiness_n 1._o keep_v thy_o foot_n when_o thou_o go_v to_o the_o house_n of_o god_n and_o be_v more_o ready_a to_o hear_v than_o to_o give_v the_o sacrifice_n of_o fool_n for_o they_o consider_v not_o that_o they_o do_v evil_a 1._o and_o now_o lest_o any_o man_n add_v to_o the_o affliction_n and_o torment_n of_o his_o spirit_n even_o by_o that_o which_o be_v the_o only_a cure_n for_o it_o let_v every_o one_o who_o will_v be_v a_o true_a worshipper_n of_o god_n in_o who_o alone_o lie_v the_o happiness_n we_o seek_v take_v care_n to_o avoid_v that_o negligence_n which_o be_v observable_a in_o many_o people_n and_o to_o opproach_v with_o all_o reverence_n both_o of_o body_n and_o soul_n into_o his_o bless_a presence_n but_o do_v not_o think_v to_o please_v he_o with_o mere_a posture_n of_o devotion_n no_o nor_o with_o sacrifice_n and_o incense_n without_o the_o oblation_n of_o a_o obedient_a heart_n dispose_v to_o do_v what_o he_o will_v have_v thou_o for_o the_o worst_a man_n in_o the_o world_n may_v be_v able_a to_o offer_v he_o the_o rich_a sacrifice_n but_o be_v very_o impious_a as_o well_o as_o foolish_a if_o they_o think_v he_o delight_v in_o the_o fat_a and_o the_o blood_n of_o beast_n save_o only_a as_o testimony_n of_o love_n to_o he_o and_o act_n of_o obedience_n unto_o his_o will_n for_o in_o that_o very_a thought_n they_o offend_v he_o and_o make_v no_o conscience_n what_o evil_a they_o do_v while_o they_o believe_v their_o sacrifice_n atone_v for_o all_o see_v annot._n asleep_o 2._o be_v not_o rash_a with_o thy_o mouth_n and_o let_v not_o thy_o majesty_n and_o of_o thy_o meanness_n overcome_v thou_o into_o a_o profound_a reverence_n of_o he_o express_v itself_o rather_o in_o ardent_a sigh_n and_o groan_n than_o in_o abundance_n of_o word_n
