authority_n as_o a_o law_n there_o christ_n subdue_v although_o it_o will_v be_v there_o as_o a_o rebel_n reign_v yet_o it_o shall_v set_v up_o no_o law_n in_o the_o soul_n where_o christ_n be_v consider_v of_o it_o you_o that_o be_v never_o trouble_v about_o your_o sin_n but_o all_o thing_n be_v at_o peace_n within_o you_o it_o be_v a_o sad_a sign_n christ_n have_v not_o set_v up_o his_o kingdom_n there_o while_o the_o strong_a man_n the_o devil_n keep_v the_o house_n all_o thing_n be_v at_o peace_n all_o quiet_a and_o so_o the_o poor_a creature_n live_v in_o a_o fool_n paradise_n and_o plcase_n himself_o in_o this_o condition_n but_o believe_v it_o when_o the_o lord_n jesus_n come_v he_o will_v sit_v as_o a_o refiner_n and_o as_o a_o purifier_n he_o will_v purge_v out_o the_o dross_n when_o he_o come_v mal._n 3.3_o but_o who_o may_v abide_v the_o day_n of_o his_o come_n he_o will_v come_v with_o the_o refiner_n fire_n and_o the_o fuller_n soap_n he_o come_v not_o to_o bring_v peace_n that_o be_v with_o lust_n and_o corruption_n but_o the_o lord_n cut_v they_o down_o corruption_n die_v when_o christ_n come_v object_n but_o perhaps_o some_o soul_n may_v object_v i_o find_v indeed_o some_o stir_n within_o i_o some_o to_o evil_a and_o some_o motion_n to_o good_a how_o shall_v i_o know_v that_o this_o flow_v from_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n set_v up_o in_o my_o soul_n or_o from_o some_o other_o principle_n answ_n there_o be_v a_o conflict_n between_o the_o law_n and_o natural_a conscience_n and_o there_o be_v a_o conflict_n between_o the_o spirit_n of_o christ_n his_o work_n in_o the_o spirit_n of_o the_o christian_a and_o the_o flesh_n corrupt_a nature_n and_o satan_n 1_o there_o be_v a_o conflict_n between_o natural_a conscience_n and_o the_o law_n or_o the_o mind_n legal_o enlighten_v and_o the_o law_n and_o this_o may_v be_v in_o a_o natural_a man_n or_o a_o hypocrite_n thus_o it_o be_v with_o judas_n i_o have_v sin_v in_o betray_v the_o innocent_a blood_n he_o see_v his_o sin_n he_o have_v transgress_v the_o law_n and_o now_o he_o be_v trouble_v not_o because_o of_o his_o sin_n as_o it_o be_v a_o sin_n but_o because_o his_o conscience_n now_o dog_v he_o will_v not_o let_v he_o rest_n this_o conflict_n may_v be_v in_o the_o heart_n of_o a_o poor_a creature_n and_o christ_n never_o come_v there_o in_o the_o way_n of_o mercy_n and_o the_o soul_n deceive_v and_o cozen_v itself_o think_v christ_n be_v their_o oppose_a sin_n when_o it_o be_v nothing_o else_o but_o the_o mind_n of_o man_n legal_o enlighten_v apprehend_v wrath_n and_o anger_n from_o the_o breach_n of_o the_o law_n and_o now_o walk_v more_o circumspect_o yield_v more_o perfectobedience_n oppose_v sin_n as_o a_o transgression_n of_o the_o law_n and_o so_o think_v itself_o in_o a_o goodly_a paradise_n in_o a_o fair_a way_n for_o heaven_n and_o thus_o many_o poor_a soul_n deceive_v themselves_o and_o undo_v their_o soul_n everlasting_o but_o perhaps_o some_o may_v say_v how_o shall_v i_o know_v the_o difference_n between_o my_o one_o oppose_a sin_n from_o a_o principal_a of_o legal_a light_n whether_o the_o conflict_n be_v between_o natural_a conscience_n and_o the_o law_n or_o the_o kingdom_n of_o christ_n set_v up_o in_o my_o soul_n and_o sin_n answ_n the_o conflict_n between_o natural_a conscience_n and_o the_o law_n it_o be_v only_o from_o the_o apprehension_n of_o the_o condemnation_n of_o the_o law_n the_o law_n say_v thou_o shall_v not_o sin_n if_o thou_o do_v it_o thou_o must_v suffer_v thou_o must_v be_v condemn_v conscience_n enlighten_v see_v this_o be_v cast_v down_o and_o perhaps_o be_v much_o perplex_v for_o sin_n set_v against_o sin_n oppose_v it_o with_o might_n and_o main_a and_o resolve_v to_o sin_n no_o more_o and_o anon_o sin_n present_v itself_o and_o the_o law_n present_v itself_o and_o then_o out_o of_o door_n sin_n must_v but_o why_o because_o of_o the_o law_n not_o because_o of_o christ_n the_o law_n will_v give_v it_o no_o rest_n no_o peace_n there_o now_o to_o illustrate_v this_o by_o a_o comparison_n in_o these_o day_n of_o war_n i_o do_v not_o question_v but_o there_o be_v many_o in_o this_o country_n that_o be_v turn_v paliamenteer_n for_o fear_n lest_o the_o law_n seize_v upon_o their_o good_n and_o person_n and_o so_o they_o lose_v all_o their_o mind_n be_v so_o far_o enlighten_v that_o they_o see_v it_o be_v good_a to_o sleep_v in_o a_o whole_a skin_n as_o they_o say_v and_o hence_o they_o can_v perhaps_o talk_v sometime_o and_o do_v for_o the_o parliament_n when_o indeed_o their_o mind_n be_v contrary_a well_o there_o come_v one_o who_o mind_n be_v not_o so_o far_o enlighten_v as_o to_o seek_v their_o own_o external_a good_a while_o he_o be_v here_o one_o who_o this_o man_n love_v and_o can_v glad_o entertain_v he_o but_o for_o fear_v of_o the_o law_n he_o shall_v be_v count_v and_o take_v for_o a_o enemy_n to_o the_o state_n out_o of_o door_n this_o man_n go_v none_o dare_v entertain_v he_o but_o why_o not_o for_o want_v of_o love_n but_o for_o fear_n belove_v i_o have_v know_v the_o truth_n of_o this_o on_o the_o otherside_n enough_o and_o thus_o it_o be_v with_o this_o man_n perhaps_o the_o poor_a creature_n can_v be_v content_a to_o entertain_v sin_n in_o his_o bosom_n lust_n anger_n pride_n etc._n etc._n but_o no_o soon_o do_v sin_n appear_v but_o the_o law_n that_o appear_v conscience_n that_o be_v trouble_v out_o must_v the_o sin_n else_o conscience_n can_v be_v quire_n and_o so_o belove_v for_o the_o quietness_n of_o conscience_n who_o fear_v eternal_a flame_n esay_n 33.14_o out_o sin_n must_v and_o a_o external_a conformity_n follow_v and_o so_o the_o man_n be_v become_v a_o christian_n it_o be_v as_o a_o man_n that_o have_v a_o love_a friend_n he_o bring_v he_o to_o his_o houfe_v but_o the_o wife_n will_v not_o be_v satisfy_v she_o scold_v out_o must_v the_o man_n else_o there_o will_v be_v no_o peace_n so_o sin_n will_v find_v welcome_a perhaps_o and_o kind_a entertainment_n with_o the_o man_n but_o natural_a conscience_n from_o the_o apprehension_n of_o the_o law_n scold_n and_o threaten_v and_o out_o must_v the_o belove_a lust_n else_o there_o will_v be_v no_o peace_n i_o fear_v i_o many_o a_o poor_a soul_n split_v themselves_o upon_o this_o rock_n but_o when_o christ_n come_v and_o set_v up_o his_o kingdom_n in_o the_o soul_n he_o present_o write_v his_o law_n in_o the_o heart_n make_v they_o partaker_n of_o the_o divine_a nature_n make_v they_o awilling_a people_n and_o now_o the_o conflict_n be_v not_o between_o the_o mind_n and_o the_o law_n but_o between_o the_o spirit_n and_o sin_n be_v there_o no_o law_n that_o matter_n not_o with_o the_o gracious_a soul_n it_o see_v such_o
