from_o thence_o to_o those_o body_n to_o which_o they_o be_v unite_v that_o though_o the_o traduction_n of_o soul_n be_v not_o without_o its_o difficulty_n and_o such_o as_o i_o shall_v not_o be_v so_o vain_a as_o to_o attempt_v the_o solution_n of_o yet_o it_o be_v in_o that_o particular_a but_o of_o the_o same_o condition_n with_o the_o immediate_a creation_n of_o they_o that_o i_o say_v not_o also_o less_o exceptionable_a as_o to_o the_o business_n of_o original_a sin_n in_o fine_a that_o as_o it_o have_v nothing_o from_o scripture_n to_o prejudice_v the_o belief_n of_o it_o as_o succession_n by_o those_o productive_a principle_n which_o he_o have_v plant_v in_o they_o for_o if_o so_o what_o shall_v hinder_v we_o from_o believe_v but_o that_o man_n produce_v their_o like_a after_o the_o same_o manner_n that_o other_o creature_n do_v and_o by_o the_o same_o divine_a benediction_n and_o concurrence_n sure_o i_o be_o as_o they_o will_v otherwise_o fall_v short_a of_o the_o power_n of_o inferior_a being_n as_o well_o as_o be_v a_o anomaly_n in_o the_o creation_n so_o they_o will_v be_v but_o very_o imperfect_o in_o the_o condition_n of_o parent_n because_o contribute_v it_o be_v either_o nothing_o at_o all_o to_o the_o purpose_n or_o very_o much_o against_o the_o purpose_n of_o those_o that_o allege_v it_o partly_o because_o by_o the_o sin_n there_o speak_v of_o can_v be_v mean_v no_o other_o than_o actual_a sin_n and_o nothing_o therefore_o to_o be_v conclude_v from_o thence_o but_o that_o all_o actual_a sin_n be_v the_o product_n of_o man_n lust_n and_o latter_a from_o such_o a_o inward_a principle_n as_o be_v derive_v to_o they_o from_o their_o birth_n that_o i_o make_v man_n being_n so_o universal_o under_o sin_n a_o argument_n of_o their_o be_v so_o from_o some_o inward_a principle_n be_v because_o as_o so_o general_a a_o effect_n must_v be_v suppose_v to_o have_v some_o general_a cause_n so_o no_o external_a cause_n how_o general_a soever_o from_o whence_o it_o can_v be_v suppose_v to_o proceed_v and_o within_o the_o consideration_n whereof_o therefore_o this_o enquiry_n of_o we_o will_v necessary_o be_v bound_v some_o evil_a daemon_n with_o malignity_n or_o impotency_n with_o malignity_n if_o willing_o suffer_v any_o evil_a spirit_n to_o mix_v itself_o in_o his_o production_n with_o impotency_n if_o not_o able_a to_o hinder_v it_o our_o endeavour_n against_o they_o useless_a but_o cast_v a_o blemish_n upon_o those_o divine_a law_n which_o pretend_v to_o forbid_v they_o and_o upon_o those_o divine_a judgement_n which_o pretend_v to_o punish_v they_o for_o neither_o can_v god_n without_o great_a unreasonableness_n forbid_v what_o be_v not_o to_o be_v avoid_v nor_o punish_v it_o without_o the_o imputation_n of_o injustice_n but_o it_o may_v be_v though_o original_a sin_n have_v not_o its_o beginning_n either_o from_o some_o evil_a spirit_n or_o the_o pravity_n of_o the_o matter_n which_o be_v the_o two_o first_o opinion_n which_o pretend_v to_o give_v a_o account_n of_o it_o yet_o it_o may_v as_o be_v suggest_v in_o the_o three_o arise_v from_o such_o evil_a habit_n as_o man_n soul_n contract_v before_o their_o descent_n into_o this_o world_n and_o into_o those_o body_n wherewith_o they_o be_v invest_v that_o indeed_o may_v yet_o more_o reasonable_o be_v believe_v that_o i_o say_v not_o also_o abstract_v from_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o scripture_n much_o more_o reasonable_o than_o the_o account_n that_o be_v give_v of_o it_o from_o adam_n if_o there_o be_v but_o equal_a reason_n to_o solid_a ground_n either_o in_o reason_n or_o scripture_n and_o the_o supposition_n of_o it_o therefore_o the_o mere_a issue_n of_o fancy_n and_o conjecture_v so_o it_o be_v sufficient_o confute_v by_o the_o ignorance_n man_n soul_n be_v under_o of_o any_o such_o previous_a estate_n for_o why_o if_o man_n soul_n have_v any_o such_o previous_a existence_n shall_v they_o not_o be_v conscious_a of_o it_o and_o of_o the_o thing_n that_o be_v perform_v by_o they_o in_o it_o nay_o why_o shall_v not_o god_n take_v care_n to_o fix_v such_o a_o remembrance_n in_o they_o that_o
so_o what_o be_v want_v in_o their_o former_a estate_n may_v be_v supply_v by_o they_o in_o their_o follow_v one_o for_o as_o it_o be_v not_o easy_a to_o suppose_v that_o the_o corruptible_a body_n shall_v so_o far_o stupefie_v the_o soul_n as_o to_o hinder_v it_o from_o emerge_v in_o time_n out_o of_o sleep_n in_o which_o it_o may_v seem_v to_o have_v be_v cast_v and_o according_o from_o calling_n to_o mind_n what_o have_v be_v before_o transact_v within_o it_o because_o though_o the_o body_n may_v be_v some_o hindrance_n to_o the_o faculty_n of_o the_o soul_n yet_o it_o do_v not_o hinder_v they_o from_o come_v in_o time_n to_o exert_v their_o proper_a operation_n so_o it_o be_v much_o less_o easy_a to_o suppose_v that_o god_n shall_v not_o however_o bring_v to_o its_o memory_n its_o past_a state_n and_o action_n by_o which_o it_o offend_v against_o he_o partly_o to_o make_v it_o sensible_a of_o its_o former_a guilt_n and_o god_n choose_v to_o punish_v it_o by_o thrust_v it_o into_o a_o body_n and_o partly_o to_o make_v it_o so_o much_o the_o more_o careful_a to_o break_v off_o from_o those_o sin_n by_o which_o it_o have_v before_o offend_v he_o these_o as_o they_o be_v the_o only_a imaginable_a end_n why_o god_n shall_v thrust_v a_o offend_a soul_n into_o such_o a_o body_n so_o be_v perfect_o lose_v to_o that_o soul_n in_o which_o there_o be_v no_o consciousness_n of_o its_o former_a state_n and_o of_o those_o enormity_n which_o be_v contract_v in_o it_o i_o conclude_v therefore_o that_o whatever_o may_v be_v say_v as_o to_o this_o particular_a concern_v original_a sin_n yet_o it_o do_v not_o take_v its_o rise_n from_o the_o evil_a act_n or_o habit_n of_o the_o soul_n in_o any_o praexistent_a estate_n and_o nothing_o therefore_o leave_v to_o we_o to_o resolve_v it_o into_o but_o the_o depravedness_n of_o those_o from_o who_o we_o all_o descend_v and_o from_o who_o it_o be_v transmit_v to_o particular_a soul_n and_o person_n i_o deny_v not_o indeed_o that_o even_o this_o account_n be_v not_o without_o its_o difficulty_n and_o such_o as_o it_o will_v be_v hard_a if_o not_o impossible_a perfect_o to_o assoil_v i_o deny_v not_o far_o that_o those_o difficulty_n be_v much_o enhance_v by_o the_o ignorance_n we_o be_v under_o concern_v the_o original_a of_o humane_a soul_n and_o which_o whilst_o we_o continue_v under_o it_o will_v not_o be_v easy_a for_o we_o to_o show_v how_o that_o depravedness_n of_o nature_n shall_v pass_v from_o they_o to_o we_o but_o as_o those_o difficulty_n be_v no_o way_n comparable_a to_o the_o difficulty_n of_o two_o of_o the_o former_a even_o those_o which_o resolve_v original_a sin_n into_o the_o malignity_n of_o some_o evil_a spirit_n or_o the_o pravity_n of_o matter_n so_o they_o can_v much_o less_o be_v think_v to_o be_v of_o force_n against_o the_o testimony_n of_o the_o scripture_n if_o that_o as_o i_o shall_v afterward_o show_v favour_v its_o arise_v from_o the_o pravity_n of_o our_o first_o parent_n partly_o because_o the_o thing_n in_o question_n be_v a_o matter_n of_o fact_n and_o therefore_o to_o be_v determine_v rather_o by_o testimony_n than_o the_o force_n of_o natural_a incapacity_n to_o call_v to_o mind_v its_o pristin_a state_n and_o action_n and_o yet_o if_o they_o prove_v what_o they_o intend_v they_o will_v hardly_o make_v it_o credible_a that_o it_o that_o adam_n be_v no_o way_n incompetent_a for_o that_o purpose_n because_o appoint_v by_o god_n as_o the_o representative_a of_o all_o mankind_n but_o say_v enough_o though_o not_o to_o answer_v yet_o to_o silence_v what_o be_v object_v against_o it_o from_o the_o suppose_a want_n of_o our_o consent_n to_o his_o transgression_n which_o will_v leave_v nothing_o more_o for_o we_o to_o do_v from_o those_o fleshly_a and_o unclean_a person_n from_o who_o we_o be_v descend_v that_o as_o it_o be_v enough_o to_o show_v that_o it_o be_v convey_v to_o we_o by_o the_o same_o general_a mean_n
