christ_n stand_v at_o such_o a_o distance_n from_o sin_n that_o he_o seek_v and_o design_n and_o labour_n to_o the_o utmost_a to_o hate_v sin_n and_o to_o pursue_v it_o unto_o death_n it_o be_v not_o the_o pardon_n of_o sin_n that_o will_v satisfy_v a_o true_a believer_n let_v i_o say_v thus_o much_o that_o if_o you_o be_v at_o no_o great_a distance_n from_o sin_n than_o this_o that_o if_o the_o lord_n will_v pardon_v you_o all_o be_v well_o and_o you_o will_v lay_v down_o the_o cudgel_n it_o be_v a_o sign_n your_o heart_n be_v not_o right_a with_o christ_n if_o you_o have_v a_o interest_n in_o christ_n you_o will_v be_v at_o a_o great_a distance_n from_o sin_n than_o so_o the_o pardon_n of_o sin_n will_v not_o satisfy_v you_o if_o sin_n shall_v be_v drive_v into_o the_o secret_a retirement_n of_o your_o soul_n and_o shall_v there_o remain_v among_o the_o stuff_n yet_o this_o will_v not_o satisfy_v you_o the_o soul_n that_o be_v interest_v in_o christ_n be_v set_v upon_o the_o death_n of_o sin_n as_o its_o enemy_n and_o that_o be_v the_o meaning_n of_o those_o scripture_n wherein_o we_o be_v call_v upon_o to_o mortify_v sin_n and_o to_o crucify_v sin_n that_o be_v to_o destroy_v sin_n to_o be_v the_o death_n of_o it_o ephes_n 5.14_o and_o they_o that_o be_v christ_n have_v crucify_v the_o flesh_n with_o the_o affection_n and_o lust_n they_o be_v do_v of_o it_o sin_n be_v die_v and_o mortify_v and_o crucify_a and_o it_o shall_v be_v crucify_v and_o mortify_v and_o slay_v and_o appear_v to_o be_v whole_o dead_a ere_o long_o this_o be_v that_o that_o the_o soul_n stand_v in_o unto_o sin_n in_o these_o nine_o particular_n be_v the_o distance_n such_o as_o that_o you_o have_v proclaim_v &_o engage_v in_o a_o holy_a war_n against_o it_o or_o do_v you_o only_o speak_v slight_o of_o sin_n before_o man_n and_o hide_v it_o in_o your_o heart_n again_o consider_v be_v the_o conflict_n that_o you_o profess_v to_o be_v engage_v in_o against_o sin_n general_n or_o be_v your_o opposition_n against_o sin_n only_o in_o your_o conscience_n very_o a_o natural_a man_n will_v oppose_v sin_n thus_o a_o hypocrite_n conscience_n may_v check_v he_o for_o sin_n a_o at_o and_o be_v willing_a to_o part_v with_o they_o but_o there_o be_v some_o other_o that_o you_o be_v ready_a to_o say_v of_o they_o o_o they_o be_v but_o little_a one_o good_a lord_n spare_v they_o be_v the_o distance_n thy_o heart_n stand_v in_o to_o sin_n to_o all_o sin_n to_o heart-sin_n as_o well_o as_o to_o life-sin_n to_o little_a sin_n as_o well_o as_o to_o great_a sin_n to_o those_o sin_n that_o be_v most_o connatural_a and_o that_o thy_o heart_n and_o thy_o disposition_n do_v most_o close_o with_o and_o then_o again_o be_v thy_o distance_n to_o sin_n as_o sin_n as_o it_o have_v a_o contrary_a nature_n in_o it_o to_o the_o lord_n jesus_n christ_n and_o to_o his_o bless_a interest_n in_o thy_o heart_n then_o the_o conflict_n will_v be_v abide_v as_o long_o as_o there_o be_v sin_n remain_v in_o thy_o soul_n again_o how_o stand_v thy_o heart_n unto_o sin_n in_o the_o temptation_n this_o very_o be_v a_o discriminate_a character_n of_o a_o saint_n those_o who_o heart_n be_v not_o right_o engage_v they_o may_v oppose_v sin_n and_o speak_v high_o against_o it_o when_o it_o be_v commit_v and_o when_o they_o have_v see_v the_o ill_a consequent_n and_o effect_n of_o it_o but_o do_v you_o oppose_v sin_n in_o the_o temptation_n when_o it_o be_v a_o great_a way_n off_o and_o do_v you_o shun_v and_o avoid_v and_o flee_v from_o the_o occasion_n of_o sin_n that_o which_o christ_n another_o man_n may_v choose_v to_o avoid_v sin_n when_o he_o receive_v a_o prejudice_n by_o it_o or_o when_o he_o can_v apprehend_v a_o advantage_n to_o the_o lust_n and_o desire_n of_o his_o own_o heart_n ay_o but_o the_o gracious_a soul_n that_o be_v interest_v in_o christ_n it_o stand_v afar_o off_o from_o sin_n so_o as_o it_o say_v lord_n any_o condition_n rather_o than_o sin_n any_o burden_n rather_o than_o the_o burden_n of_o sin_n any_o affliction_n any_o grief_n rather_o than_o sin_n and_o then_o do_v you_o consider_v what_o reluctancy_n be_v in_o your_o spirit_n in_o against_o he_o at_o last_o that_o after-reckoning_n may_v undo_v all_o no_o say_v god_n when_o i_o forgive_v sin_n i_o do_v it_o with_o this_o resolve_n of_o grace_n never_o to_o remember_v it_o
