forgiveness_n of_o sin_n in_o the_o scripture_n denote_v such_o a_o full_a and_o plenary_a pardon_n that_o a_o sin_n can_v be_v more_o remit_v than_o it_o be_v but_o because_o we_o commit_v new_a sin_n daily_o and_o so_o need_v pardon_v daily_o therefore_o it_o be_v that_o we_o be_v not_o complete_o pardon_v till_o then_o as_o also_o because_o the_o perfect_a pardon_n we_o have_v here_o shall_v then_o solemn_o and_o public_o be_v declare_v to_o all_o the_o world_n these_o thing_n thus_o premise_v consist_v i_o come_v to_o show_v the_o ground_n or_o particular_n wherein_o our_o pardon_n of_o sin_n be_v thus_o complete_v and_o first_o in_o our_o sense_n and_o feeling_n for_o howsoever_o god_n pardon_v a_o sin_n perfect_o yet_o our_o faith_n which_o receive_v it_o be_v weak_a this_o jewel_n be_v take_v with_o a_o tremble_a and_o shake_v hand_n pardon_n hence_o it_o be_v that_o we_o have_v not_o full_a faith_n and_o confidence_n in_o our_o spirit_n we_o may_v see_v this_o in_o david_n though_o nathan_n tell_v he_o his_o sin_n be_v forgive_v he_o yet_o his_o faith_n be_v not_o so_o vigorous_a and_o powerful_a as_o whole_o to_o apply_v this_o to_o his_o own_o soul_n perfect_v pardon_n because_o all_o the_o effect_n of_o pardon_n will_v then_o be_v accomplish_v and_o not_o so_o much_o as_o any_o scar_n remain_v the_o wound_n will_v be_v so_o full_o heal_v although_o god_n do_v full_o pardon_v sin_n yet_o the_o effect_n of_o this_o be_v delay_v many_o chastisement_n and_o sad_a affliction_n be_v to_o be_v undergo_v howsoever_o death_n itself_o and_o only_a gospel-repentance_n but_o as_o gospel-faith_n be_v not_o that_o reflect_v act_n of_o the_o soul_n in_o a_o man_n whereby_o it_o be_v persuade_v that_o christ_n be_v he_o but_o a_o direct_a act_n of_o take_v and_o receive_v christ_n to_o be_v we_o so_o a_o gospel-repentance_n be_v not_o that_o main_o whereby_o we_o be_v humble_v because_o we_o receive_v god_n love_n to_o we_o in_o pardon_v but_o principal_o in_o that_o loathe_n of_o ourselves_o to_o obtain_v pardon_n it_o be_v therefore_o great_a ignorance_n in_o that_o author_n in_o his_o treatise_n of_o gospel-repentance_n
