upon_o the_o cross_n what_o say_v he_o god_n be_v merciful_a and_o if_o but_o at_o the_o last_o thou_o can_v say_v god_n be_v merciful_a to_o i_o lord_n have_v mercy_n upon_o i_o why_o then_o all_o be_v well_o there_o be_v no_o doubt_n of_o mercy_n and_o because_o man_n be_v better_o verse_v in_o the_o service-book_n than_o in_o the_o scripture_n perhaps_o he_o will_v cite_v a_o text_n out_o there_o at_o what_o time_n soever_o a_o sinner_n etc._n etc._n this_o be_v the_o first_o stratagem_n to_o keep_v presumptuous_a sinner_n from_o be_v humble_v and_o if_o he_o prevail_v not_o then_o but_o that_o notwithstanding_o all_o these_o good_a word_n a_o soul_n be_v convince_v of_o sin_n and_o humble_v for_o it_o then_o he_o have_v a_o second_o 2._o a_o second_o stratagem_n and_o that_o be_v to_o keep_v humble_v sinner_n from_o believe_v and_o that_o he_o do_v these_o way_n 1._o he_o labour_v to_o have_v they_o despair_v of_o a_o pardon_n and_o that_o upon_o one_o of_o these_o two_o ground_n 1._o he_o will_v now_o tell_v you_o either_o that_o your_o sin_n be_v great_a than_o can_v be_v pardon_v as_o cain_n gen._n 4.13_o so_o it_o be_v in_o the_o original_a my_o sin_n be_v great_a now_o sigh_n groan_n tear_n daily_a break_n under_o the_o burden_n of_o sin_n be_v all_o nothing_o all_o be_v too_o little_a indeed_o he_o fain_o will_v have_v thou_o to_o lie_v in_o hell_n and_o be_v the_o first_o 2._o the_o second_o ground_n why_o man_n be_v so_o slow_a to_o believe_v and_o that_o be_v take_v from_o themselves_o 1._o it_o do_v arise_v from_o their_o ignorance_n they_o know_v
