31.18_o isa_n 18._o affliction_n when_o the_o lord_n send_v it_o upon_o any_o of_o his_o child_n this_o be_v all_o their_o fruit_n to_o take_v away_o their_o sin_n but_o yet_o affliction_n will_v of_o themselves_o purge_v no_o man_n conscience_n but_o rather_o defile_v it_o as_o we_o see_v how_o the_o rage_n of_o man_n spirit_n be_v draw_v out_o by_o it_o as_o king_n ahaz_n sin_v yet_o more_o the_o more_o he_o be_v afflict_v and_o revel_v 16.9.10_o they_o do_v gnaw_v their_o tongue_n with_o pain_n and_o do_v blaspheme_v the_o god_n of_o heaven_n but_o repent_v not_o of_o their_o evil_a deed_n bray_v a_o fool_n in_o a_o mortar_n and_o yet_o his_o folly_n will_v not_o depart_v from_o he_o but_o yet_o if_o christ_n blood_n do_v sprinkle_v our_o cross_n they_o shall_v be_v as_o corasives_n himself_o throughout_o and_o it_o be_v a_o mean_n to_o keep_v he_o low_o and_o to_o preserve_v he_o from_o sin_n all_o his_o life_n time_n after_o and_o we_o have_v the_o like_a instance_n in_o peter_n in_o deny_v the_o lord_n and_o curse_v and_o swear_v that_o he_o never_o know_v he_o when_o thou_o be_v convert_v say_v christ_n to_o he_o strengthen_v thy_o brother_n for_o he_o will_v be_v the_o strong_a afterward_o as_o a_o bone_n break_v etc._n etc._n and_o the_o less_o apt_a to_o fall_v into_o sin_n sure_o sin_n of_o themselves_o be_v filthiness_n itself_o can_v purge_v but_o will_v defile_v but_o yet_o sprinkle_v with_o the_o blood_n of_o christ_n they_o shall_v be_v a_o occasion_n of_o purge_v six_o sometime_o the_o lord_n will_v do_v it_o by_o leave_v a_o man_n to_o the_o winnowing_n of_o satan_n in_o some_o furious_a and_o violent_a temptation_n satan_n aim_n be_v thereby_o to_o sift_v out_o all_o grace_n and_o to_o leave_v nothing_o but_o chaff_n in_o the_o soul_n
