with_o some_o of_o the_o justice_n they_o agree_v to_o indict_v he_o and_o so_o they_o do_v of_o several_a felonious_a action_n to_o all_o which_o he_o hearty_o confess_v guilty_a and_o so_o be_v hang_v with_o his_o wife_n at_o the_o same_o time_n atten._n this_o be_v a_o remarkable_a story_n indeed_o and_o you_o think_v it_o be_v a_o true_a one_o wise._n it_o be_v not_o only_o remarkable_a give_v themselves_o up_o even_o as_o wicked_a man_n do_v to_o act_v this_o kind_n of_o wickedness_n with_o greediness_n but_o joseph_n you_o see_v be_v of_o another_o mind_n for_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n be_v in_o he_o i_o will_v before_o i_o leave_v this_o tell_v you_o here_o two_o notable_a story_n and_o i_o wish_v mr._n badmans_n companion_n may_v hear_v of_o they_o they_o be_v find_v in_o clark_n looking-glass_n for_o sinner_n and_o be_v these_o mr._n cleaver_n say_v mr._n clark_n report_v of_o one_o who_o he_o know_v 12._o that_o have_v commit_v the_o act_n of_o uncleanness_n wise._n they_o like_v one_o another_o even_o as_o another_o fire_n and_o water_n do_v young_a badmans_n way_n be_v odious_a to_o his_o master_n and_o his_o master_n way_n be_v such_o as_o young_a badman_n can_v not_o endure_v thus_o in_o these_o two_o be_v fulfil_v that_o say_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n 27._o a_o unjust_a man_n be_v a_o abomination_n to_o the_o just_a and_o he_o that_o be_v upright_o in_o the_o way_n be_v abomination_n to_o the_o wicked_a the_o good_a man_n way_n mr._n badman_n can_v not_o abide_v nor_o can_v the_o good_a man_n abide_v the_o bad_a way_n of_o his_o base_a apprentice_n yet_o will_v his_o master_n if_o he_o can_v have_v keep_v he_o and_o also_o have_v learn_v he_o his_o trade_n atten._n if_o he_o can_v why_o he_o may_v if_o he_o will_v may_v he_o not_o wise._n alas_o mâ—â—ter_o badman_n run_v away_o from_o he_o once_o and_o twice_o and_o will_v not_o at_o all_o be_v rule_v so_o the_o next_o time_n he_o do_v run_v away_o from_o he_o he_o do_v let_v he_o go_v indeed_o for_o he_o give_v he_o no_o occasion_n to_o run_v away_o except_o it_o be_v by_o hold_v of_o he_o as_o much_o as_o he_o can_v and_o that_o he_o can_v do_v but_o little_a to_o good_a and_o also_o like_o himself_o thus_o the_o wicked_a join_a hand_n in_o hand_n and_o there_o he_o serve_v out_o his_o time_n atten._n then_o sure_a he_o have_v his_o heart_n desire_v when_o he_o be_v with_o one_o so_o like_o himself_o wise._n yes_o so_o he_o have_v but_o god_n give_v it_o he_o in_o his_o anger_n atten._n how_o do_v you_o mean_v wise._n i_o mean_v as_o before_o badman_n that_o for_o a_o wicked_a man_n to_o be_v by_o the_o providence_n of_o god_n turn_v out_o of_o a_o good_a man_n door_n into_o a_o wicked_a man_n house_n to_o dwell_v be_v a_o sign_n of_o the_o anger_n of_o god_n for_o god_n by_o this_o and_o such_o judgement_n say_v thus_o to_o such_o a_o one_o thou_o wicked_a one_o thou_o love_v not_o i_o my_o way_n nor_o my_o people_n thou_o cast_v my_o law_n and_o out_o out_o of_o the_o way_n and_o from_o under_o the_o mean_n which_o ordinary_o be_v make_v use_n of_o to_o do_v good_a to_o the_o soul._n 19_o for_o a_o family_n where_o godliness_n be_v profess_v and_o practise_v be_v god_n ordinance_n the_o place_n which_o he_o have_v appoint_v to_o teach_v young_a one_o the_o way_n and_o fear_n of_o god_n now_o to_o be_v put_v out_o of_o such_o a_o family_n into_o a_o bad_a a_o wicked_a one_o as_o mr._n badman_n
from_o their_o godly_a and_o faithful_a friend_n and_o have_v bring_v they_o again_o into_o carnal_a company_n among_o carnal_a friend_n and_o also_o into_o carnal_a delight_n where_o and_o with_o who_o they_o have_v in_o conclusion_n both_o sinful_o abode_n and_o miserable_o perish_v and_o this_o be_v one_o reason_n why_o god_n have_v forbid_v this_o kind_n of_o unequal_a marriage_n for_o they_o say_v he_o mean_v the_o ungodly_a will_v turn_v away_o thy_o son_n from_o follow_v i_o 7._o that_o they_o may_v serve_v other_o god_n so_o will_v the_o anger_n of_o the_o lord_n be_v kindle_v against_o you_o and_o destroy_v you_o sudden_o now_o mark_v there_o be_v some_o in_o israel_n that_o will_v notwithstanding_o this_o prohibition_n venture_v to_o marry_v to_o the_o heathen_n and_o unbeliever_n but_o what_o follow_v they_o serve_v their_o idol_n they_o sacrifice_v their_o son_n and_o their_o daughter_n unto_o devil_n thus_o be_v they_o defile_v with_o their_o own_o work_n and_o go_v a_o whore_v with_o their_o own_o invention_n therefore_o be_v the_o wrath_n of_o the_o lord_n kindle_v against_o his_o people_n 40._o insomuch_o that_o he_o abhor_v his_o own_o inheritance_n weight_n of_o its_o father_n finger_n three_o of_o his_o child_n do_v direct_o follow_v his_o step_n and_o begin_v to_o be_v as_o vile_a as_o in_o his_o youth_n he_o be_v himself_o the_o other_o that_o remain_v become_v a_o kind_n of_o mongrel_n professor_n not_o so_o bad_a as_o their_o father_n nor_o so_o good_a as_o their_o mother_n but_o be_v betwixt_o they_o both_o they_o have_v their_o mother_n notion_n and_o their_o father_n action_n and_o be_v much_o like_o those_o that_o you_o read_v of_o in_o the_o book_n of_o nehemiah_n 24._o these_o child_n speak_v half_a in_o the_o speech_n of_o ashdod_n and_o can_v not_o speak_v in_o the_o jew_n language_n but_o according_a to_o the_o language_n of_o each_o people_n atten._n what_o you_o say_v in_o this_o matter_n be_v observable_a reason_n with_o respect_n to_o their_o parent_n be_v this_o where_o the_o one_o of_o the_o parent_n be_v godly_a and_o the_o other_o ungodly_a and_o vile_a though_o they_o can_v agree_v in_o beget_v of_o child_n yet_o they_o strive_v for_o their_o child_n when_o they_o be_v bear_v the_o godly_a parent_n strive_v for_o the_o child_n and_o by_o prayer_n counsel_n and_o good_a example_n labour_n to_o make_v it_o holy_a in_o body_n and_o soul_n and_o so_o fit_a for_o the_o kingdom_n of_o heaven_n but_o the_o '_o ungodly_a will_v have_v it_o like_o himself_o wicked_a and_o base_a and_o sinful_a and_o so_o they_o both_o give_v instruction_n according_o instruction_n do_v i_o say_v yea_o and_o example_n too_o according_a to_o their_o mind_n thus_o the_o godly_a as_o hannah_n be_v present_v she_o samuel_n unto_o the_o lord_n but_o the_o ungodly_a like_v they_o that_o go_v before_o they_o be_v for_o offer_v their_o child_n to_o moloch_n to_o a_o idol_n to_o sin_n to_o the_o devil_n and_o to_o hell_n thus_o one_o harken_v to_o the_o law_n of_o their_o mother_n and_o be_v preserve_v from_o destruction_n but_o as_o for_o the_o other_o as_o their_o father_n do_v so_o do_v they_o thus_o trust_v they_o because_o they_o be_v bad_a the_o bad_a will_v not_o trust_v they_o because_o they_o be_v good_a viz._n the_o good_a will_v not_o trust_v they_o because_o they_o be_v bad_a in_o their_o life_n and_o the_o bad_a will_v not_o trust_v they_o because_o they_o be_v good_a in_o their_o word_n so_o they_o be_v force_v with_o esau_n to_o join_v in_o affinity_n with_o ishmad_a to_o wit_n to_o look_v out_o a_o people_n that_o be_v hypocrite_n like_o themselves_o and_o with_o they_o they_o match_v and_o live_v and_o die_v atten._n poor_a woman_n she_o can_v not_o but_o have_v much_o perplexity_n wise._n yea_o and_o poor_a child_n that_o ever_o they_o be_v send_v into_o the_o world_n as_o the_o fruit_n of_o the_o loin_n and_o under_o the_o government_n of_o such_o a_o father_n as_o mr._n badman_n atten._n you_o say_v right_a for_o such_o child_n lie_v almost_o under_o all_o manner_n of_o disadvantage_n but_o we_o must_v say_v nothing_o because_o this_o also_o be_v the_o sovereign_a will_n of_o god_n wise._n we_o may_v not_o by_o any_o mean_v object_n against_o god_n yet_o we_o may_v talk_v of_o the_o advantage_n and_o disadvantage_n that_o child_n have_v by_o have_v for_o their_o parent_n such_o as_o be_v either_o godly_a or_o the_o contrary_n atten._n you_o say_v right_a we_o may_v so_o and_o pray_v now_o since_o we_o be_v about_o it_o speak_v something_o in_o brief_a unto_o it_o that_o be_v unto_o this_o what_o advantage_n those_o child_n have_v above_o other_o that_o have_v for_o their_o parent_n such_o as_o indeed_o be_v godly_a wise._n so_o i_o will_v godly_a only_o i_o must_v first_o premise_v these_o two_o or_o three_o thing_n 1._o they_o have_v not_o the_o advantage_n of_o election_n for_o their_o father_n sake_n 2._o they_o be_v bear_v as_o other_o the_o child_n of_o wrath_n though_o they_o come_v of_o godly_a parent_n 3._o grace_n come_v not_o unto_o they_o as_o a_o inheritance_n because_o they_o have_v godly_a parent_n these_o thing_n premise_v i_o shall_v now_o proceed_v 1._o the_o child_n of_o godly_a parent_n be_v the_o child_n of_o many_o prayer_n they_o be_v pray_v for_o before_o and_o pray_v for_o after_o they_o be_v bear_v and_o the_o prayer_n of_o a_o godly_a father_n and_o godly_a mother_n do_v much_o 2._o they_o have_v the_o advantage_n of_o what_o restraint_n be_v possible_a from_o what_o evil_n their_o parent_n see_v they_o inclinable_a to_o and_o that_o be_v a_o second_o mercy_n 3._o they_o have_v the_o advantage_n of_o godly_a instruction_n and_o of_o be_v tell_v which_o be_v and_o which_o be_v not_o the_o right_a way_n of_o the_o lord_n 4._o they_o have_v also_o those_o way_n commend_v unto_o they_o and_o speak_v well_o of_o in_o their_o hear_n that_o be_v good_a 5._o such_o be_v also_o what_o may_v be_v keep_v out_o of_o evil_a company_n from_o evil_a book_n and_o from_o be_v teach_v the_o way_n of_o swear_v lie_v and_o the_o like_a as_o sabbath-breaking_a and_o mock_v at_o good_a man_n and_o good_a thing_n and_o this_o be_v a_o very_a great_a mercy_n 6._o they_o have_v also_o the_o benefit_n of_o a_o godly_a life_n set_v before_o they_o doctrinal_o by_o their_o parent_n and_o that_o doctrine_n back_v with_o a_o godly_a and_o holy_a example_n and_o all_o these_o be_v very_o great_a advantage_n now_o all_o these_o advantage_n have_v the_o child_n of_o ungodly_a parent_n want_v and_o so_o be_v more_o in_o danger_n of_o be_v carry_v away_o with_o the_o error_n of_o the_o wicked_a for_o ungodly_a parent_n neither_o pray_v for_o their_o child_n nor_o do_v nor_o can_v they_o hearty_o instruct_v they_o they_o do_v not_o after_o a_o godly_a manner_n restrain_v they_o from_o evil_a nor_o do_v they_o keep_v they_o from_o evil_a company_n they_o be_v not_o grieve_v at_o nor_o yet_o do_v they_o forewarn_v
say_v with_o good_a conscience_n i_o go_v not_o out_o of_o my_o place_n and_o state_n in_o which_o god_n by_o his_o providence_n have_v put_v i_o but_o have_v abode_n with_o god_n in_o the_o call_n wherein_o i_o be_v call_v and_o have_v wrought_v hard_o and_o fare_v mean_o be_v civil_o apparel_v and_o have_v not_o direct_o nor_o indirect_o make_v away_o with_o my_o creditor_n good_n then_o must_v he_o do_v now_o question_n i_o answer_v his_o sure_a way_n be_v still_o to_o think_v that_o this_o be_v the_o fruit_n of_o some_o sin_n though_o possible_o not_o sin_n in_o the_o management_n of_o his_o call_n yet_o of_o some_o other_o sin_n god_n cast_v away_o the_o substance_n of_o the_o wicked_a 3._o therefore_o let_v he_o still_o humble_a himself_o before_o his_o god_n 6._o because_o his_o hand_n be_v upon_o he_o and_o say_v what_o sin_n be_v this_o for_o which_o this_o hand_n of_o god_n be_v upon_o i_o and_o let_v he_o be_v diligent_a to_o find_v it_o out_o for_o some_o sin_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o this_o judgement_n 33._o for_o god_n do_v not_o willing_o afflict_v nor_o grieve_v the_o child_n of_o man_n either_o the_o heart_n be_v too_o much_o set_v upon_o the_o world_n or_o religion_n be_v too_o much_o neglect_v in_o thy_o family_n or_o some_o thing_n there_o be_v a_o snake_n in_o the_o grass_n a_o worm_n in_o the_o gourd_n some_o sin_n in_o thy_o bosom_n for_o the_o sake_n of_o which_o god_n do_v thus_o deal_v with_o thou_o three_o again_o this_o thus_o do_v let_v that_o man_n again_o consider_v thus_o with_o himself_o perhaps_o god_n be_v now_o change_v of_o my_o condition_n and_o state_n in_o the_o world_n he_o have_v let_v i_o live_v in_o fashion_n in_o â—ulness_n and_o abundance_n of_o worldly_a glory_n and_o i_o do_v not_o to_o his_o glory_n
