Therfore leftest thou theim in the hande of theyr enemyes so that they had the dominion ouer theim So they conuerted and cryed vnto thee and thou herdest th●im from heauen and many tymes haste thou delyuered theim according to thy greate mercy testytiedst vnto theim that they should turne agayne vnto thy lawe Notwithstandyng thei were proude herkened not vnto thy cōmaundementes but synned in thy lawes which a man should doo and liue in theim and turned the shulder a waye and were styfnecked and woulde not heare And many yeres dyddest thou forbeare theim and testifiedst vnto theim through thy spyrite euen by the office of the Prophetes and yet woulde they not heare Therfore gauest thou theim into the hande of the nacyons in the landes But for thy great mercies sake thou hast not vtterly consumed theim neither forsakē theim for thou art a gracyous and a merciful God Now our God thou greate God mightye and terrible thou that kepest couenaunte and mercye regarde not a litle all the trauaile that hath happened vnto vs and our kinges princes preestes prophetes fathers and all thy people sythens the tyme of the Kynges of Assur vnto this daye Thou art ryghteouse in all that thou haste brought vpon vs for thou haste dooen righte And we on our behalfe haue been vngodly our kinges princes preestes and fathers haue not doone after thy lawe nor regarded thy cōmaundemētes and thy earnest exhortacions wherewith thou hacte exhorted theim haue not serued thee in theyr kyngdome and in thy greate goodnes that thou gauest them and in the large and plenteous lāde whiche thou gauest them thei haue not conuerted frō their wicked woorkes Beholde therfore are we in bondage this daie yea euen in the lande that thou gauest vnto our fathers to enioy the fructes
