of_o the_o wisdom_n and_o power_n of_o god_n to_o men._n §_o 3._o all_o thing_n be_v make_v by_o he_o if_o so_o he_o want_v no_o power_n and_o if_o we_o be_v make_v by_o he_o we_o must_v be_v new_o make_v by_o he_o too_o or_o we_o can_v never_o enjoy_v god_n his_o power_n show_v his_o dignity_n and_o that_o nothing_o can_v be_v too_o hard_a for_o such_o a_o sufficiency_n as_o make_v all_o thing_n and_o without_o which_o nothing_o be_v make_v that_o be_v make_v as_o man_n maker_n must_v be_v his_o husband_n so_o his_o creator_n must_v be_v his_o redeemer_n also_o §_o 4._o in_o he_o be_v life_n and_o the_o life_n be_v the_o light_n of_o men._n this_o be_v ou●_n point_n the_o evangelist_n first_o begin_v with_o the_o nature_n and_o be_v of_o the_o word_n from_o thence_o he_o descend_v hasty_a than_o wise_a to_o judge_v we_o defective_a in_o our_o belief_n of_o the_o efficacy_n of_o the_o death_n and_o suffering_n of_o christ_n to_o justification_n as_o §_o 2._o first_o we_o can_v believe_v that_o christ_n be_v the_o cause_n but_o the_o effect_n of_o god_n love_n according_a to_o the_o testimony_n of_o the_o belove_a disciple_n john_n chap._n 3._o god_n have_v so_o love_v the_o world_n that_o he_o have_v give_v his_o only_o beget_v son_n into_o the_o world_n that_o whosoever_o believe_v on_o he_o shall_v not_o perish_v but_o have_v everlasting_a life_n second_o we_o can_v say_v god_n can_v not_o have_v take_v another_o way_n to_o have_v save_v sinner_n than_o by_o the_o death_n and_o suffering_n of_o his_o son_n to_o satisfy_v his_o justice_n or_o that_o christ_n death_n and_o suffering_n be_v a_o strict_a and_o rigid_a satisfaction_n for_o that_o eternal_a death_n and_o misery_n due_a to_o man_n for_o sin_n and_o transgression_n for_o such_o a_o notion_n be_v put_v into_o a_o state_n capable_a of_o be_v accept_v of_o god_n and_o through_o the_o obedience_n of_o faith_n and_o sanctification_n of_o the_o spirit_n be_v in_o a_o state_n of_o acceptance_n for_o we_o can_v never_o think_v a_o man_n justify_v before_o god_n while_o self-condemned_n or_o that_o any_o man_n can_v be_v in_o christ_n who_o be_v not_o a_o new_a creature_n or_o that_o god_n look_v upon_o man_n otherwise_o than_o they_o be_v we_o think_v it_o a_o state_n of_o presumption_n and_o not_o of_o salvation_n to_o call_v jesus_n lord_n and_o not_o by_o the_o work_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n master_n and_o he_o not_o yet_o master_n of_o our_o affection_n saviour_n and_o they_o not_o save_v by_o he_o from_o their_o sin_n redeemer_n and_o yet_o they_o not_o redeem_v by_o he_o from_o their_o passion_n pride_n covetousness_n wantonness_n vanity_n honour_n vain_a friendship_n and_o glory_n of_o this_o world_n which_o be_v to_o deceive_v themselves_o for_o god_n will_v not_o be_v mock_v such_o as_o man_n sow_v such_o they_o must_v reap_v and_o though_o christ_n do_v die_v for_o we_o yet_o we_o must_v by_o the_o assistance_n of_o his_o grace_n work_v out_o our_o salvation_n with_o fear_n and_o tremble_a as_o he_o die_v for_o sin_n so_o we_o must_v die_v to_o sin_n or_o we_o can_v be_v say_v to_o be_v save_v by_o the_o death_n and_o suffering_n of_o christ_n or_o
