storm_a sea_n and_o if_o the_o soul_n have_v sin_v no_o wonder_n if_o it_o be_v in_o a_o tempest_n but_o 3_o ignorance_n of_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n indeed_o it_o be_v by_o grace_n that_o we_o in_o its_o pardon_n and_o to_o every_o grace_n in_o its_o supply_n the_o soul_n be_v apt_a to_o limit_v the_o holy_a one_o of_o israel_n it_o be_v apt_a to_o think_v there_o be_v some_o sin_n unto_o which_o the_o covenant_n do_v not_o extend_v it_o believe_v it_o may_v be_v the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n reach_v to_o the_o pardon_n of_o many_o sin_n but_o question_n whether_o it_o reach_v to_o by_o man_n immediate_n call_v be_v rare_a it_o may_v be_v you_o fear_v your_o call_n be_v not_o by_o the_o spirit_n because_o it_o be_v by_o man_n it_o may_v be_v man_n speech_n and_o the_o spirit_n before_o o_o but_o at_o such_o or_o such_o a_o time_n thou_o do_v find_v thy_o heart_n more_o wrought_v upon_o by_o it_o than_o ever_o i_o beseech_v you_o serious_o say_v have_v it_o not_o be_v thus_o with_o you_o if_o it_o have_v why_o doubt_v you_o that_o your_o call_n be_v not_o by_o the_o spirit_n but_o 3_o call_v to_o mind_n and_o in_o sincerity_n tell_v and_o confess_v what_o it_o be_v that_o by_o the_o letter_n and_o legal_a now_o to_o satisfy_v you_o in_o this_o there_o be_v 3_o question_n which_o i_o will_v put_v unto_o you_o and_o in_o the_o sincerity_n of_o your_o heart_n resolve_v they_o 1_o what_o be_v the_o great_a sin_n of_o which_o you_o be_v and_o be_v convict_v when_o thy_o heart_n be_v convince_v of_o sin_n what_o be_v the_o great_a sin_n which_o then_o thou_o be_v convince_v of_o search_v your_o heart_n and_o consider_v what_o answer_n to_o give_v can_v you_o say_v it_o be_v unbelief_n certain_o if_o you_o be_v convince_v of_o that_o it_o be_v the_o spirit_n which_o wrought_v that_o conviction_n i_o desire_v not_o to_o be_v mistake_v i_o do_v not_o urge_v this_o as_o if_o i_o think_v there_o either_o be_v not_o or_o need_v not_o any_o more_o conviction_n there_o be_v a_o difference_n between_o a_o cause_n and_o a_o case_n the_o one_o be_v the_o bitter_a seed_n the_o other_o the_o sour_a fruit_n of_o dejection_n now_o as_o i_o have_v say_v something_o to_o the_o one_o so_o shall_v i_o likewise_o speak_v a_o little_a to_o the_o other_o to_o begin_v then_o in_o that_o order_n in_o which_o i_o prepare_v they_o the_o first_o cause_n of_o spiritual_a dejection_n be_v the_o remainder_n of_o corruption_n cause_n cause_n this_o indeed_o be_v the_o root_n and_o ground_n of_o all_o dejection_n and_o in_o order_n to_o the_o cure_n of_o a_o soul_n cast_v down_o in_o the_o sight_n and_o sense_n of_o remain_a corruption_n i_o shall_v lay_v down_o these_o consideration_n first_o cure_n cure_n consider_v that_o the_o work_n of_o christ_n upon_o the_o soul_n do_v not_o in_o this_o life_n altogether_o destroy_v 132._o place_v these_o 2_o sheet_n k_o l_o next_o after_o fol._n 132._o sin_n as_o long_o as_o the_o soul_n be_v in_o the_o body_n there_o will_v be_v sin_n in_o the_o soul_n even_o paul_n have_v a_o body_n of_o sin_n and_o death_n in_o he_o and_o till_o death_n destroy_v the_o body_n thou_o must_v not_o look_v to_o have_v sin_n he_o if_o it_o do_v not_o burn_v he_o thou_o cry_v out_o o_o deject_a soul_n that_o they_o remain_v corruption_n do_v oft_o disturb_v thou_o but_o why_o shall_v or_o how_o can_v thou_o expect_v the_o contrary_a while_o thou_o dwell_v in_o this_o house_n of_o clay_n that_o dunghill_n will_v annoy_v thou_o but_o three_o remember_v corruption_n groan_v under_o as_o a_o burden_n be_v rather_o a_o ground_n of_o rejoice_v then_o of_o dejection_n for_o first_o it_o argue_v a_o life_n of_o bolinesse_n to_o feel_v a_o weight_n in_o sin_n dead_a man_n feel_v no_o weight_n be_v it_o never_o so_o heavy_a and_o second_o it_o argue_v a_o activity_n of_o life_n to_o groan_n many_o soul_n rather_o glory_v in_o than_o groan_n under_o a_o weight_n of_o sin_n but_o it_o be_v a_o special_a mercy_n thou_o be_v not_o as_o they_o be_v four_o believe_v it_o o_o soul_n jesus_n christ_n do_v sympathize_v with_o thou_o under_o this_o thy_o burden_n while_o thou_o groane_v under_o and_o be_v cast_v down_o at_o the_o sight_n of_o remain_a corruption_n thou_o be_v the_o object_n of_o christ_n compassion_n it_o be_v a_o good_a plaster_n for_o any_o sore_a to_o consider_v the_o pity_n of_o our_o feel_v as_o much_o peradventure_o more_o wrath_n than_o thou_o do_v but_o why_o do_v i_o speak_v of_o particular_n when_o as_o i_o remember_v the_o lord_n have_v not_o mercy_n but_o indignation_n thus_o it_o be_v a_o resolute_a and_o noble_a exercise_n of_o the_o grace_n of_o faith_n in_o which_o the_o soul_n quiet_v itself_o in_o and_o rest_v itself_o upon_o god_n and_o christ_n expect_v and_o look_v for_o a_o accomplishment_n of_o all_o the_o promise_n as_o to_o joy_n or_o holiness_n notwithstanding_o all_o the_o fear_n and_o all_o the_o doubt_n which_o may_v arise_v to_o the_o contrary_n this_o faith_n suppose_v doubt_n and_o fear_n but_o it_o over-comes_a they_o it_o see_v hindrance_n but_o it_o triumph_v over_o they_o it_o feel_v disquieting_n but_o it_o suppress_v they_o and_o whatever_o the_o promise_n be_v whether_o for_o life_n joy_n peace_n comfort_n deliverance_n etc._n etc._n it_o expect_v a_o fulfil_n of_o it_o from_o god_n and_o christ_n but_o second_o to_o see_v this_o clear_a i_o shall_v instance_n in_o the_o particular_n of_o this_o faith_n and_o this_o i_o shall_v do_v 1_o general_o 2_o particular_o and_o 3_o special_o general_o in_o our_o deep_a dejection_n we_o be_v to_o hold_v fast_o cur_n former_a faith_n in_o any_o particular_a we_o must_v believe_v all_o that_o which_o ever_o we_o do_v believe_v and_o know_v concern_v god_n christ_n scripture_n etc._n etc._n some_o be_v apt_a in_o dejection_n to_o bring_v all_o thing_n into_o question_n to_o question_n god_n christ_n and_o all_o but_o now_o remember_v whatever_o thou_o do_v know_v and_o believe_v of_o god_n and_o christ_n or_o his_o way_n out_o of_o the_o scripture_n before_o thou_o must_v believe_v the_o same_o still_o let_v not_o satan_n draw_v thou_o into_o a_o doubt_n much_o less_o a_o denial_n of_o former_a receive_v and_o profess_a truth_n they_o be_v all_o as_o true_a now_o as_o ever_o a_o man_n who_o see_v house_n and_o tree_n in_o the_o day_n time_n
