answer_n to_o this_o 1._o that_o many_o mistake_v the_o nature_n of_o true_a faith_n and_o sincerity_n and_o think_v if_o they_o have_v not_o assurance_n of_o the_o love_n of_o god_n that_o therefore_o they_o have_v no_o true_a faith_n they_o make_v save_v justify_n faith_n to_o consist_v in_o believe_v the_o special_a love_n of_o christ_n to_o their_o soul_n in_o believe_v that_o latter_a shall_v one_o day_n be_v ashamed_a of_o their_o fear_n as_o the_o former_a of_o their_o hope_n the_o lord_n know_v who_o be_v his_o when_o many_o that_o be_v his_o do_v not_o know_v it_o themselves_o and_o if_o a_o minister_n of_o christ_n will_v ask_v a_o few_o home_n close_a question_n of_o such_o doubt_v tremble_a christian_n by_o which_o their_o hearty_a consent_n to_o the_o covenant_n may_v be_v judge_v of_o their_o answer_n plain_o show_v that_o they_o believe_v in_o christ_n and_o love_v he_o above_o all_o the_o world_n and_o regard_v no_o iniquity_n in_o their_o heart_n and_o yet_o will_v continue_v to_o doubt_v of_o their_o integrity_n though_o the_o bend_v of_o their_o heart_n and_o the_o endeavour_n of_o their_o life_n do_v abundant_o prove_v that_o they_o be_v sincere_a 2_o however_o it_o may_v ordinary_o be_v know_v whether_o your_o faith_n be_v of_o the_o right_a kind_n or_o no_o and_o whether_o you_o be_v upright_o towards_o god_n or_o no._n we_o be_v bid_v to_o examine_v and_o search_v and_o try_v and_o prove_v ourselves_o in_o order_n to_o it_o that_o we_o may_v find_v the_o mark_n and_o impress_n of_o god_n upon_o our_o soul_n the_o fruit_n of_o the_o sanctify_a spirit_n there_o and_o so_o have_v rejoice_v in_o ourselves_o and_o not_o in_o another_o it_o be_v so_o far_o from_o be_v unlawful_a to_o collect_v comfort_n from_o the_o mark_n and_o sign_n of_o our_o sanctification_n and_o to_o prove_v our_o union_n to_o christ_n and_o justification_n that_o way_n that_o it_o be_v the_o very_a method_n of_o the_o gospel_n to_o direct_v we_o proper_a method_n for_o a_o cure_n there_o be_v a_o great_a deal_n of_o reason_n why_o you_o shall_v expect_v and_o hope_v for_o the_o resolution_n of_o your_o doubt_n in_o such_o case_n by_o consult_v some_o minister_n of_o christ_n especial_o he_o under_o who_o ministry_n you_o have_v choose_v to_o place_n yourselves_o as_o the_o helper_n of_o your_o faith_n and_o joy_n 3._o the_o penitent_a christian_a though_o he_o want_v assurance_n be_v accept_v of_o god_n and_o have_v right_o to_o this_o ordinance_n whether_o he_o believe_v it_o or_o no._n if_o you_o unfeigned_o consent_v to_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n and_o with_o a_o humble_a penitent_a sense_n of_o your_o past_a sin_n be_v willing_a and_o desirous_a to_o close_v with_o christ_n on_o the_o term_n of_o the_o deprive_v you_o of_o your_o right_n to_o the_o ordinance_n nor_o disoblige_v you_o from_o the_o duty_n of_o come_v to_o it_o for_o all_o such_o who_o unfeigned_o consent_v to_o the_o covenant_n they_o may_v and_o aught_o to_o come_v to_o signify_v their_o consent_n and_o to_o receive_v the_o seal_n of_o the_o covenant_n 4._o every_o christian_n ought_v to_o endeavour_v to_o know_v his_o state_n lest_o they_o be_v distract_v between_o the_o hope_n of_o god_n acceptance_n of_o they_o on_o the_o one_o hand_n and_o the_o fear_n of_o come_v unworthy_o on_o the_o other_o because_o they_o doubt_v of_o their_o worhtiness_n they_o fear_v to_o come_v and_o because_o they_o have_v some_o good_a hope_n they_o dare_v not_o stay_v away_o lest_o they_o neglect_v their_o duty_n the_o proper_a remedy_n and_o declaration_n of_o his_o faith_n in_o christ_n not_o only_o of_o his_o be_v rise_v but_o of_o his_o be_v the_o eternal_a son_n of_o god_n and_o of_o his_o happy_a interest_n in_o he_o and_o
