from_o or_o be_v declarative_a of_o such_o a_o cause_n whereas_o the_o baptism_n of_o repentant_a person_n do_v both_o flow_n from_o and_o be_v expressive_a of_o such_o a_o cause_n 2._o if_o it_o be_v call_v the_o baptism_n of_o repentance_n because_o man_n by_o take_v up_o that_o ordinance_n do_v engage_v themselves_o to_o the_o practice_n of_o repentance_n and_o mortification_n as_o the_o covenant_n or_o promise_n of_o god_n make_v to_o man_n touch_v the_o remission_n of_o their_o sin_n upon_o their_o repentance_n yet_o this_o end_n and_o use_v also_o be_v attain_v upon_o far_o better_a term_n in_o the_o administration_n of_o baptism_n to_o believer_n and_o to_o man_n of_o understanding_n than_o it_o be_v or_o can_v be_v when_o administer_v to_o infant_n who_o have_v neither_o for_o if_o this_o end_n and_o use_n shall_v be_v the_o reason_n of_o this_o denomination_n of_o baptism_n yet_o this_o must_v be_v suppose_v that_o the_o intent_n of_o god_n in_o make_v baptism_n a_o seal_n of_o his_o covenant_n and_o promise_n be_v not_o to_o make_v his_o covenant_n more_o sure_a in_o itself_o but_o to_o give_v it_o thereby_o a_o more_o sure_a stable_n and_o unquestionable_a be_v in_o the_o mind_n and_o apprehension_n of_o man_n and_o if_o so_o this_o end_n can_v be_v attain_v in_o infant_n by_o their_o baptism_n because_o they_o want_v the_o use_n and_o question_n i_o conceive_v i_o may_v affirm_v that_o none_o may_v safe_o and_o without_o danger_n of_o sin_n rest_v satisfy_v with_o that_o baptism_n which_o they_o receive_v in_o their_o infancy_n they_o come_v once_o to_o understand_v the_o irregularity_n and_o sinfulness_n of_o infant_n baptism_n and_o i_o do_v assert_v it_o upon_o these_o ground_n 1._o because_o the_o apostle_n paul_n as_o at_o ephesus_n and_o of_o who_o he_o demand_v whether_o they_o have_v receive_v the_o holy_a ghost_n since_o they_o have_v believe_v unto_o who_o they_o reply_v that_o they_o have_v not_o so_o much_o as_o hear_v whether_o there_o be_v any_o holy_a ghost_n unto_o what_o then_o say_v paul_n be_v you_o baptize_v and_o they_o say_v unto_o john_n baptism_n then_o say_v paul_n john_n very_o baptize_v with_o the_o baptism_n of_o repentance_n say_v unto_o the_o people_n that_o they_o shall_v believe_v on_o he_o that_o be_v to_o come_v after_o he_o that_o be_v on_o christ_n jesus_n when_o they_o know_v they_o to_o be_v in_o the_o love_n and_o favour_n of_o god_n in_o that_o particular_a respect_n and_o determinate_a consideration_n which_o render_v man_n immediate_o capable_a of_o baptism_n in_o this_o respect_n such_o a_o profession_n of_o faith_n be_v necessary_a because_o without_o it_o the_o love_n of_o god_n to_o they_o upon_o such_o term_n be_v not_o knowable_a and_o consequent_o
