love_n in_o thou_o either_o towards_o thy_o saviour_n or_o thyself_o this_o solemn_a commemoration_n of_o his_o passion_n can_v but_o affect_v thou_o with_o horror_n and_o indignation_n against_o thy_o sin_n but_o then_o as_o in_o this_o great_a solemnity_n we_o do_v commemorate_v our_o saviour_n passion_n so_o we_o do_v also_o renew_v the_o vow_n of_o our_o obedience_n to_o he_o which_o as_o i_o have_v show_v you_o be_v very_o instrumental_a in_o itself_o to_o the_o subdue_a of_o our_o sin_n but_o much_o more_o when_o it_o be_v do_v in_o so_o sacred_a a_o manner_n for_o as_o feast_v upon_o sacrifice_n be_v always_o use_v as_o a_o federal_a rite_n both_o among_o the_o jew_n and_o heathen_n whereby_o god_n and_o man_n by_o eat_v together_o do_v mutual_o oblige_v themselves_o to_o one_o another_o so_o the_o lord_n supper_n be_v a_o feast_n upon_o the_o sacrifice_n of_o christ_n body_n and_o blood_n when_o we_o come_v thither_o we_o eat_v and_o drink_v of_o his_o sacrifice_n and_o do_v thereby_o devote_v ourselves_o in_o the_o most_o solemn_a manner_n to_o his_o service_n we_o swear_v allegiance_n to_o he_o upon_o his_o own_o body_n and_o blood_n and_o take_v the_o neighbour_n when_o it_o be_v but_o the_o other_o day_n that_o i_o vow_v to_o be_v honest_a and_o take_v the_o sacrament_n upon_o it_o with_o what_o conscience_n can_v i_o now_o hate_v or_o design_n revenge_n against_o my_o brother_n when_o i_o so_o late_o swear_v unto_o god_n upon_o the_o body_n and_o blood_n of_o my_o saviour_n that_o i_o will_v love_v and_o forgive_v all_o the_o world_n sure_o if_o man_n have_v any_o sense_n of_o god_n any_o dram_n of_o religion_n in_o they_o they_o will_v not_o be_v able_a after_o such_o engagement_n to_o look_v upon_o any_o temptation_n to_o sin_n without_o tremble_v and_o whatsoever_o pretence_n of_o unworthiness_n man_n may_v make_v to_o keep_v themselves_o from_o this_o ordinance_n i_o doubt_v not_o but_o the_o great_a reason_n of_o their_o neglect_n be_v this_o that_o they_o love_v their_o lust_n and_o be_v resolve_v whatsoever_o come_v of_o it_o they_o will_v not_o part_v with_o they_o and_o so_o they_o will_v not_o come_v to_o the_o sacrament_n because_o they_o must_v be_v oblige_v to_o renounce_v their_o lust_n there_o which_o they_o be_v extreme_o unwilling_a to_o do_v and_o if_o this_o be_v their_o reason_n as_o i_o fear_v it_o be_v they_o be_v unworthy_a indeed_o the_o more_o shame_n for_o they_o but_o it_o be_v such_o a_o unworthiness_n as_o be_v so_o far_o from_o excuse_v their_o neglect_n that_o it_o be_v a_o foul_a aggravation_n of_o it_o for_o he_o that_o will_v not_o receive_v the_o sacrament_n because_o he_o will_v not_o renounce_v his_o lust_n make_v one_o sin_n the_o reason_n of_o another_o and_o so_o plead_v that_o for_o his_o excuse_n which_o will_v be_v the_o cause_n of_o his_o condemnation_n but_o if_o we_o be_v honest_o resolve_v to_o part_v with_o all_o our_o sin_n and_o can_v but_o willing_o devote_v they_o as_o sacrifice_n to_o the_o altar_n we_o be_v sufficient_o prepare_v for_o this_o great_a solemnity_n and_o shall_v be_v welcome_a guest_n to_o the_o table_n of_o our_o lord_n if_o we_o can_v sincere_o pay_v our_o vow_n at_o his_o altar_n we_o may_v confident_o take_v the_o cup_n of_o salvation_n and_o call_v upon_o the_o name_n of_o the_o lord_n and_o have_v thus_o chain_v up_o our_o lust_n by_o the_o vow_n of_o obedience_n we_o have_v pay_v there_o it_o will_v be_v hard_a for_o they_o to_o shake_v off_o such_o mighty_a fetter_n or_o ever_o to_o get_v loose_a again_o from_o so_o strict_a a_o confinement_n especial_o if_o we_o take_v care_n to_o repeat_v this_o our_o sacramental_a vow_n as_o often_o as_o convenient_o we_o can_v for_o as_o i_o have_v already_o show_v you_o
