the_o scripture-testimony_n that_o may_v be_v bring_v concern_v the_o thing_n you_o be_v to_o meditate_v upon_o now_o there_o be_v nine_o common-place-head_n and_o these_o i_o fear_v be_v very_o difficult_a but_o that_o i_o may_v help_v you_o a_o little_a i_o will_v give_v you_o a_o example_n i_o will_v go_v over_o these_o logical_a head_n only_o i_o will_v preface_n thus_o much_o that_o it_o be_v not_o the_o intent_n of_o these_o learned_a man_n that_o we_o shall_v be_v overcurious_a in_o prosecute_a all_o these_o logical_a head_n for_o the_o end_n of_o meditation_n be_v not_o to_o practice_v logic_n but_o to_o kindle_v devotion_n and_o there_o be_v many_o subject_n that_o will_v not_o admit_v of_o all_o these_o nine_o when_o i_o meditate_v of_o god_n i_o can_v show_v any_o cause_n of_o god_n and_o i_o can_v make_v any_o comparison_n to_o compare_v god_n to_o but_o the_o meaning_n of_o those_o learned_a man_n be_v this_o that_o we_o shall_v not_o rack_v and_o torture_v our_o understanding_n to_o pursue_v all_o these_o head_n of_o reason_n but_o we_o shall_v pick_v out_o so_o many_o of_o they_o as_o be_v most_o suitable_a to_o the_o subject_n we_o be_v meditate_v upon_o as_o for_o example_n suppose_v i_o will_v go_v into_o my_o closet_n and_o meditate_v of_o the_o sinfulness_n of_o sin_n than_o i_o will_v go_v over_o all_o these_o nine_o head_n and_o by_o go_v over_o they_o you_o will_v understand_v the_o use_n of_o they_o i_o will_v meditate_v of_o the_o sinfulness_n of_o sin_n that_o so_o i_o may_v get_v my_o heart_n to_o hate_v it_o more_o that_o so_o i_o may_v study_v to_o be_v more_o mortify_v to_o it_o to_o mourn_v for_o it_o now_o for_o this_o purpose_n that_o i_o may_v enlarge_v my_o intellectual_a part_n of_o consideration_n 1._o i_o will_v begin_v with_o the_o description_n of_o sin_n and_o i_o will_v say_v thus_o to_o my_o soul_n when_o i_o be_o alone_o oh_o my_o soul_n why_o shall_v not_o thou_o hate_v and_o abhor_v sin_n be_v not_o sin_v the_o breach_n of_o the_o holy_a law_n of_o god_n and_o do_v it_o not_o therefore_o deserve_v eternal_a damnation_n be_v not_o sin_v a_o walk_a contrary_n unto_o god_n and_o certain_o that_o man_n that_o walk_v contrary_a to_o god_n walk_v contrary_a to_o heaven_n and_o contrary_a to_o his_o own_o happiness_n be_v not_o sin_n most_o opposite_a to_o the_o great_a good_a and_o therefore_o must_v needs_o be_v the_o great_a evil_n and_o why_o then_o shall_v not_o sin_n have_v the_o great_a sorrow_n why_o shall_v not_o i_o hate_v sin_n above_o all_o thing_n if_o it_o be_v the_o great_a evil_n 2._o i_o will_v proceed_v to_o the_o distribution_n of_o sin_n and_o thus_o i_o will_v say_v to_o my_o soul_n oh_o my_o soul_n how_o be_v thou_o be-lepered_a with_o sin_n how_o be_v thou_o all_o over_o bespread_v with_o iniquity_n thou_o be_v guilty_a of_o the_o first_o sin_n that_o ever_o be_v commit_v in_o the_o world_n of_o adam_n eat_v the_o forbid_a fruit_n that_o sin_n be_v jusdy_o thou_o by_o imputation_n for_o in_o he_o say_v the_o apostle_n we_o all_o sin_v rom._n 5._o 12._o and_o thou_o will_v never_o be_v free_a from_o the_o guilt_n of_o the_o imputation_n of_o adam_n sin_n till_o thou_o be_v by_o faith_n make_v partaker_n of_o the_o imputation_n of_o christ_n righteousness_n thou_o be_v guilty_a oh_o my_o soul_n not_o only_o of_o adam_n sin_n by_o
