shall_v not_o however_o bring_v to_o its_o memory_n its_o past_a state_n and_o action_n by_o which_o it_o offend_v against_o he_o partly_o to_o make_v it_o sensible_a of_o its_o former_a guilt_n and_o god_n choose_v to_o punish_v it_o by_o thrust_v it_o into_o a_o body_n and_o partly_o to_o make_v it_o so_o much_o the_o more_o careful_a to_o break_v off_o from_o those_o sin_n by_o which_o it_o pravity_n of_o the_o will_n which_o be_v not_o more_o or_o less_o for_o the_o mere_a absence_n or_o presence_n of_o god_n restrain_v grace_n so_o the_o great_a actual_a sinner_n can_v become_v obnoxious_a to_o punishment_n upon_o the_o score_n of_o any_o other_o corruption_n than_o that_o of_o nature_n that_o as_o it_o make_v all_o his_o actual_a sin_n to_o be_v necessary_a and_o therefore_o in_o reason_n to_o bear_v the_o whole_a blame_n and_o punishment_n so_o receive_v no_o new_a aggravation_n from_o the_o want_n of_o that_o restrain_v grace_n which_o may_v have_v withhold_v the_o party_n from_o they_o in_o as_o much_o as_o that_o want_n if_o it_o be_v a_o fault_n be_v no_o less_o the_o result_n of_o his_o natural_a corruption_n than_o his_o actual_a offence_n punishment_n the_o work_n of_o man_n in_o propriety_n of_o speech_n can_v have_v no_o concernment_n in_o it_o and_o much_o less_o as_o the_o scripture_n declare_v be_v the_o principal_a object_n of_o judgement_n and_o therefore_o of_o that_o punishment_n which_o it_o shall_v award_v the_o utmost_a in_o my_o opinion_n that_o can_v be_v say_v in_o this_o particular_a be_v that_o as_o man_n by_o the_o corruption_n of_o their_o nature_n be_v averse_a from_o every_o thing_n that_o be_v good_a so_o that_o averseness_n will_v indispose_v those_o in_o who_o that_o corruption_n abide_v to_o all_o good_a action_n whatsoever_o and_o infallible_o take_v they_o off_o from_o they_o where_o either_o some_o work_n of_o god_n upon_o their_o mind_n do_v not_o thrust_v they_o on_o to_o they_o or_o the_o case_n of_o surprise_n or_o where_o they_o have_v not_o be_v habituate_v to_o the_o practice_n of_o virtue_n or_o to_o the_o consideration_n of_o the_o comeliness_n or_o profitableness_n thereof_o but_o as_o where_o there_o be_v place_n for_o serious_a thought_n there_o may_v be_v place_n also_o for_o the_o former_a motive_n to_o impel_v man_n to_o the_o practice_n of_o that_o from_o which_o they_o be_v otherwise_o sufficient_o averse_a so_o it_o be_v not_o unlikely_a that_o the_o mind_n of_o those_o who_o have_v be_v before_o habituate_v to_o the_o practice_n or_o contemplation_n of_o virtue_n may_v be_v thrust_v on_o by_o the_o former_a motive_n to_o pursue_v many_o thing_n that_o be_v good_a yea_o acquit_v themselves_o singular_o in_o they_o of_o which_o yet_o if_o any_o doubt_n be_v make_v we_o have_v the_o laudable_a example_n of_o several_a heathen_n to_o convince_v we_o thereof_o and_o who_o because_o heathen_a can_v be_v suppose_v to_o be_v free_a from_o the_o power_n of_o natural_a corruption_n or_o to_o be_v thrust_v on_o by_o other_o motive_n than_o the_o former_a to_o the_o do_v of_o such_o action_n from_o which_o they_o be_v natural_o so_o averse_a in_o like_a manner_n as_o man_n by_o the_o corruption_n of_o their_o nature_n be_v incline_v to_o every_o thing_n that_o be_v evil_a as_o well_o as_o averse_v from_o every_o thing_n that_o be_v good_a so_o that_o inclination_n will_v dispose_v those_o in_o who_o it_o be_v to_o a_o allowance_n of_o all_o evil_a action_n and_o infallible_o betray_v they_o into_o they_o where_o god_n restrain_v grace_n do_v not_o withhold_v they_o or_o the_o indecency_n or_o dangerous_a consequence_n of_o the_o other_o do_v not_o alike_o keep_v they_o back_o the_o former_a whereof_o will_v make_v their_o abstain_v even_o from_o those_o evil_a action_n which_o they_o avoid_v to_o be_v but_o a_o imperfect_a abstinence_n from_o they_o and_o indeed_o a_o abstinence_n from_o they_o rather_o as_o inexpedient_a than_o evil_a the_o latter_a cause_n they_o to_o fall_v into_o all_o such_o from_o which_o they_o be_v not_o restrain_v by_o god_n or_o by_o a_o present_a and_z intense_a consideration_n of_o the_o indecency_n or_o of_o they_o which_o will_v occasion_v such_o person_n for_o the_o most_o part_n to_o fall_v into_o all_o evil_a action_n where_o there_o be_v not_o room_n for_o serious_a thought_n as_o in_o case_n of_o surprise_n or_o where_o they_o have_v not_o be_v habituate_v to_o the_o avoid_n of_o vice_n or_o the_o consideration_n of_o the_o indecency_n or_o dangerousness_n thereof_o but_o as_o where_o there_o be_v room_n for_o serious_a thought_n there_o may_v also_o be_v place_n for_o the_o former_a reason_n to_o take_v they_o off_o from_o the_o practice_n of_o that_o to_o which_o they_o be_v otherwise_o sufficient_o incline_v so_o it_o be_v not_o unlikely_a that_o the_o mind_n of_o those_o who_o have_v be_v before_o habituate_v to_o the_o avoid_n of_o vice_n or_o the_o consideration_n of_o the_o indecency_n or_o dangerousness_n thereof_o may_v be_v take_v off_o by_o the_o former_a reason_n from_o the_o pursuit_n of_o evil_a thing_n yea_o acquit_v themselves_o singular_o in_o it_o they_o be_v so_o strong_o incline_v but_o because_o what_o we_o have_v hitherto_o say_v concern_v the_o corruption_n of_o our_o nature_n do_v rather_o tend_v to_o show_v what_o effect_n it_o have_v upon_o we_o than_o what_o that_o corruption_n be_v and_o because_o that_o word_n whereby_o we_o have_v choose_v to_o express_v it_o be_v but_o a_o metaphorical_a one_o and_o will_v therefore_o serve_v yet_o less_o clear_o to_o declare_v the_o thing_n intend_v by_o it_o therefore_o it_o may_v seem_v but_o reasonable_a to_o inquire_v yet_o far_o what_o it_o be_v and_o wherein_o it_o do_v consist_v as_o without_o which_o we_o shall_v discourse_v but_o imperfect_o concern_v it_o now_o as_o that_o question_n can_v otherwise_o be_v solve_v than_o by_o the_o knowledge_n of_o that_o estate_n of_o speak_v in_o the_o 26_o verse_n of_o the_o deceitfulness_n of_o that_o sex_n and_o of_o the_o influence_n that_o deceitfulness_n of_o they_o will_v have_v upon_o sinful_a man_n affirm_v afterward_o because_o represent_v the_o event_n of_o his_o search_n as_o contrary_a to_o the_o desire_n of_o his_o soul_n that_o though_o he_o can_v find_v one_o man_n among_o a_o thousand_o of_o a_o better_a temper_n yet_o he_o can_v not_o find_v one_o such_o woman_n among_o they_o all_o he_o must_v consequent_o when_o he_o come_v to_o say_v that_o he_o find_v only_o that_o god_n make_v man_n upright_o be_v think_v to_o mean_v such_o a_o uprightness_n as_o be_v opposite_a to_o that_o general_a depravation_n whereof_o he_o before_o complain_v there_o be_v therefore_o no_o doubt_n to_o be_v make_v that_o god_n create_v our_o nature_n in_o a_o state_n of_o uprightness_n even_o in_o such_o a_o one_o as_o fit_v man_n for_o the_o obedience_n of_o all_o those_o law_n which_o he_o be_v oblige_v to_o can_v not_o have_v come_v to_o the_o knowledge_n of_o god_n but_o by_o the_o knowledge_n of_o create_a being_n and_o the_o excellency_n thereof_o and_o what_o that_o knowledge_n will_v have_v produce_v a_o love_n and_o affection_n for_o they_o which_o will_v not_o only_o have_v make_v god_n to_o be_v love_v after_o his_o creature_n who_o as_o be_v the_o first_o and_o chief_a good_a aught_o
