be_v impossible_a but_o because_o the_o servant_n desire_v favour_n mercy_n and_o pardon_v which_o he_o esteme_v more_o than_o the_o debt_n of_o all_o the_o world_n which_o notwithstanding_o us._n be_v not_o so_o to_o be_v understand_v as_o though_o after_o that_o a_o man_n have_v obtain_v forgevenesse_n he_o shall_v afterward_o in_o no_o point_n show_v himself_o thankful_a for_o so_o great_a liberality_n and_o love_a kyndenesse_n as_o it_o shall_v afterward_o be_v declare_v when_o this_o servant_n show_v no_o gratitude_n no_o thankfulness_n no_o gentylnesse_n no_o kyndenesse_n again_o condytion_n and_o yet_o it_o be_v not_o to_o be_v refer_v unto_o this_o end_n as_o though_o the_o lord_n because_o of_o that_o shall_v remytte_n and_o forgeve_v the_o debt_n the_o forgevenesse_n of_o debt_n and_o of_o sin_n be_v ground_v only_o in_o the_o mercy_n of_o god._n unto_o this_o alone_a must_v we_o have_v our_o resort_n this_o be_v to_o be_v desire_v and_o heartylye_o to_o be_v call_v lord_n say_v he_o have_v pity_n on_o he_o set_v he_o at_o liberty_n and_o forgive_v he_o all_o his_o debt_n sin_n this_o persuasyon_n and_o faith_n must_v we_o undoubted_o have_v of_o god_n when_o affirm_v that_o he_o must_v needs_o be_v a_o true_a and_o natural_a man_n &_o not_o any_o phantasm_n or_o appear_v only_o for_o he_o have_v all_o the_o property_n that_o belong_v to_o this_o life_n and_o this_o be_v the_o joy_n as_o touch_v the_o which_o speak_v the_o angel_n i_o speak_v only_o of_o the_o glory_n &_o not_o of_o the_o fruit_n for_o thereof_o be_v it_o wont_a to_o be_v declare_v in_o the_o history_n of_o the_o passion_n and_o resurrection_n now_o do_v we_o speak_v only_o of_o the_o glory_n that_o god_n be_v so_o nigh_o join_v unto_o we_o that_o he_o be_v of_o my_o flesh_n and_o begin_v to_o hate_n god_n because_o he_o have_v not_o choose_v rather_o to_o become_v a_o angel_n than_o a_o man_n and_o that_o for_o this_o envy_n and_o pride_n he_o be_v cast_v out_o of_o heaven_n whether_o this_o be_v feign_v or_o do_v in_o deed_n yet_o will_v the_o holy_a father_n signify_v hereby_o how_o great_a be_v our_o renown_n in_o that_o that_o god_n become_v man_n and_o take_v the_o very_a same_o man_n nature_n which_o belong_v to_o we_o all_o which_o have_v be_v in_o the_o dyvels_n danger_n and_o captive_a to_o sin_n and_o death_n in_o what_o wretched_a case_n visit_v man_n nature_n and_o take_v it_o on_o he_o and_o make_v it_o lord_n over_o all_o creature_n yet_o do_v not_o rejoice_v o_o how_o wretched_a be_v they_o that_o be_v not_o move_v with_o this_o tiding_n if_o one_o amongst_o many_o brother_n shall_v come_v to_o be_v a_o king_n how_o will_v all_o the_o other_o rejoice_n how_o bold_a will_v they_o wax_v as_o josephs_n brother_n may_v be_v a_o example_n of_o this_o and_o this_o be_v a_o natural_a zeal_n but_o how_o chance_v it_o that_o we_o rejoice_v not_o in_o such_o a_o great_a matter_n that_o we_o be_v not_o move_v neither_o do_v geve_v thanks_n to_o god_n that_o our_o god_n have_v take_v our_o flesh_n and_o blood_n and_o now_o sit_v at_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o god_n lord_n over_o all_o creature_n he_z therefore_o that_o will_v esteem_v this_o as_o it_o be_v in_o deed_n will_v love_v all_o flesh_n and_o blood_n in_o the_o world_n for_o this_o flesh_n and_o blood_n sake_n and_o will_v hate_v no_o man_n the_o only_a gloriouse_a sight_n and_o contemplation_n of_o the_o humanity_n of_o christ_n our_o god_n will_v so_o cheer_n we_o &_o replenishe_v we_o with_o joy_n that_o we_o shall_v never_o be_v angry_a with_o any_o man_n yea_o and_o he_o that_o behold_v this_o image_n continual_o that_o the_o son_n of_o god_n be_v make_v man_n will_v not_o look_v for_o any_o wrathful_a displeasure_n from_o christ_n but_o hope_v for_o all_o goodness_n at_o his_o hand_n for_o no_o man_n be_v angry_a with_o himself_o or_o hurt_v himself_o now_o be_v christ_n one_o of_o we_o and_o a_o man_n how_o can_v he_o hate_v himself_o that_o be_v to_o say_v we_o which_o be_v his_o flesh_n &_o blood_n and_o if_o this_o sight_n be_v well_o print_v in_o we_o it_o will_v soon_o put_v away_o all_o example_n of_o god_n wrath_n out_o of_o our_o mind_n as_o be_v noes_n flood_n the_o punishment_n of_o sodom_n and_o gomor_n all_o that_o will_v vanish_v away_o at_o such_o a_o contemplation_n if_o i_o will_v muse_v of_o this_o only_a man_n which_o be_v god_n &_o have_v esteem_v man_n nature_n so_o great_o that_o he_o become_v man_n but_o be_v these_o thing_n never_o so_o inestimable_a yet_o some_o man_n be_v so_o mad_a that_o they_o care_v not_o they_o cast_v away_o this_o treasure_n and_o set_v their_o mind_n on_o other_o thing_n to_o heap_v up_o riches_n to_o purchase_v &_o get_v whereto_o man_n mind_n be_v wont_v whole_o to_o be_v stir_v and_o this_o be_v the_o cause_n that_o we_o feel_v no_o joy_n rise_v in_o we_o at_o the_o tiding_n of_o the_o angel_n wherefore_o this_o thing_n may_v well_o make_v we_o joyful_a and_o proud_a that_o we_o be_v prefer_v before_o all_o creature_n in_o this_o renown_n yea_o before_o angel_n and_o may_v boast_n and_o say_v my_o flesh_n my_o blood_n sit_v on_o the_o right_a hand_n of_o god_n and_o have_v the_o rule_n of_o all_o no_o angel_n or_o creature_n have_v such_o renown_n but_o my_o flesh_n and_o my_o blood_n this_o fire_n ought_v to_o melt_v as_o it_o be_v in_o one_o all_o man_n heart_n and_o to_o inflame_v man_n with_o such_o mutual_a love_n that_o we_o shall_v embrace_v one_o a_o other_o with_o all_o our_o heart_n but_o this_o be_v the_o continual_a work_n of_o the_o devil_n to_o make_v we_o forget_v
it_o shall_v serve_v for_o the_o increase_n of_o the_o apostle_n faith_n as_o all_o his_o work_n have_v chief_a regard_n thereunto_o congregation_n and_o this_o be_v it_o that_o christ_n even_o this_o time_n also_o show_v such_o a_o countenance_n of_o himself_o unto_o his_o church_n as_o though_o he_o nothing_o regard_v it_o and_o as_o though_o he_o have_v forget_v we_o as_o he_o do_v here_o in_o the_o ship_n he_o sleep_v and_o regard_v not_o the_o tempest_n the_o disciple_n the_o ship_n but_o yet_o he_o be_v in_o the_o ship_n be_v he_o never_o so_o much_o a_o sleep_v and_o these_o be_v the_o temptaion_n that_o vex_v the_o church_n where_o as_o christ_n sufferethe_v the_o flood_n to_o rise_v against_o the_o ship_n that_o be_v he_o suffer_v the_o devyll_n and_o the_o world_n to_o be_v so_o troublesome_a unto_o his_o christian_n so_o that_o hereof_o rise_v fear_n that_o all_o thing_n shall_v come_v to_o naught_o and_o we_o also_o at_o this_o time_n see_v the_o very_a same_o thing_n come_v to_o pass_v the_o pope_n with_o his_o rabble_n hate_v the_o word_n he_o stir_v the_o high_a power_n continual_o against_o us._n the_o turk_n be_v set_v forward_o by_o the_o devil_n we_o be_v in_o the_o ship_n there_o be_v tempest_n and_o the_o wind_n among_o the_o which_o we_o can_v not_o look_v for_o safeguard_n and_o it_o be_v possible_a that_o the_o lord_n may_v wynke_v at_o these_o thing_n and_o show_v no_o token_n of_o help_n for_o us._n and_o yet_o this_o sleep_v of_o he_o be_v in_o the_o ship_n but_o here_o we_o must_v take_v a_o good_a heart_n wake_v and_o think_v that_o we_o must_v not_o utter_o despair_v because_o the_o lord_n be_v with_o we_o in_o the_o ship_n and_o although_o he_o feign_v that_o he_o regard_v we_o not_o yet_o this_o ought_v we_o to_o declare_v that_o we_o do_v not_o let_v he_o go_v out_o of_o our_o sight_n but_o that_o we_o thynk_v constant_o of_o he_o that_o he_o may_v make_v the_o sea_n calm_a although_o it_o be_v now_o never_o so_o much_o oppress_v with_o wave_n &_o tempest_n so_o must_v we_o do_v also_o in_o our_o private_a temptation_n when_o the_o devyl_n lay_v thy_o sin_n to_o thy_o charge_n and_o fear_v thou_o with_o the_o wrath_n of_o god_n yea_o &_o threaten_v everlasting_a damnation_n also_o and_o herein_o must_v thou_o not_o think_v but_o that_o christ_n be_v at_o hand_n and_o yet_o a_o sleep_v and_o that_o thou_o must_v not_o set_v it_o light_v and_o be_v negligent_a to_o go_v unto_o he_o and_o wake_v he_o by_o prayer_n when_o he_o be_v find_v as_o the_o disciple_n do_v in_o this_o place_n they_o think_v it_o better_a to_o save_v themselves_o then_o to_o suffer_v christ_n to_o sleep_v they_o think_v this_o â–ª_o now_o have_v we_o need_v to_o have_v christ_n wake_v or_o else_o we_o be_v undoone_v wherefore_o they_o cease_v not_o from_o call_v until_o they_o have_v he_o wake_v follow_v thou_o this_o example_n also_o for_o both_o must_v needs_o be_v do_v if_o thou_o enter_v with_o christ_n into_o the_o ship_n always_o the_o tempest_n will_v not_o be_v lack_v christ_n lay_v he_o down_o to_o sleep_v that_o we_o may_v feel_v temptation_n in_o deed_n for_o if_o he_o shall_v not_o sleep_v and_o afterward_o repress_v the_o tempest_n we_o shall_v never_o well_o perceive_v what_o be_v true_a christianity_n yea_o and_o we_o may_v soon_o be_v bring_v in_o belefe_v that_o we_o be_v save_v by_o our_o own_o power_n but_o here_o be_v faith_n strengthen_v through_o temptation_n that_o this_o confession_n may_v be_v make_v a_o thing_n necessary_a no_o power_n of_o man_n can_v here_o have_v prevayl_v this_o deliverance_n come_v only_o by_o god_n and_o his_o word_n beside_o this_o doctrine_n christ_n be_v describe_v and_o set_v forth_o unto_o we_o as_o a_o very_a man_n man_n and_o accord_v to_o man_n nature_n which_o consist_v of_o body_n and_o soul_n and_o therefore_o have_v need_n of_o the_o natural_a action_n of_o eat_v drink_n sleap_a and_o such_o other_o thing_n that_o be_v without_o sin_n even_o as_o we_o have_v that_o we_o may_v be_v defence_v against_o the_o dotage_n of_o the_o manichee_n which_o judge_v christ_n to_o have_v but_o a_o counterfeit_a body_n and_o not_o a_o very_a body_n and_o as_o he_o declare_v himself_o to_o be_v very_a man_n by_o this_o that_o he_o slepe_v as_o a_o other_o natural_a man_n do_v so_o do_v he_o declare_v his_o godhead_n and_o almyghtinesse_n in_o this_o that_o he_o make_v the_o sea_n calm_v again_o by_o the_o word_n for_o this_o be_v no_o work_n or_o deed_n belong_a to_o man_n power_n herein_o be_v god_n power_n requisite_a that_o the_o violence_n of_o such_o a_o great_a creature_n of_o god_n may_v be_v restrain_v by_o his_o word_n that_o for_o that_o cause_n we_o may_v the_o more_o eastern_a this_o miracle_n forasmuch_o as_o here_o it_o be_v open_a how_o god_n and_o man_n be_v one_o person_n in_o christ._n for_o the_o which_o cause_n he_o both_o can_v and_o will_v help_v in_o all_o combrance_n and_o affliction_n all_o such_o as_o call_v upon_o he_o person_n and_o if_o this_o can_v not_o be_v do_v without_o the_o feeling_n of_o fear_n and_o peryll_n as_o well_o he_o declare_v before_o we_o must_v be_v content_a therewith_o for_o not_o so_o much_o as_o the_o wicked_a can_v be_v without_o affliction_n and_o therefore_o they_o be_v never_o free_a from_o a_o evyll_n conscience_n and_o final_o they_o go_v to_o damnation_n with_o all_o that_o they_o have_v the_o third_o part_n be_v as_o touching_n the_o fruit_n tempest_n which_o rise_v of_o such_o a_o faith_n that_o be_v that_o other_o consyder_v this_o miracle_n fall_v to_o repentance_n and_o say_v with_o great_a admiration_n what_o man_n be_v this_o that_o the_o wind_n and_o the_o sea_n be_v obediente_a unto_o he_o it_o be_v like_a that_o these_o hitherto_o take_v he_o but_o for_o a_o carpenter_n neither_o think_v they_o that_o aid_n against_o the_o perylle_n of_o death_n ought_v to_o be_v ask_v and_o desire_v of_o he_o now_o they_o atteyne_v to_o so_o far_a knowledge_n of_o he_o that_o he_o have_v great_a and_o sure_a may_v to_o help_v where_o as_o in_o man_n there_o be_v no_o help_n and_o this_o be_v the_o continual_a nature_n of_o these_o thing_n by_o how_o much_o the_o temptation_n be_v the_o more_o grevous_a so_o much_o the_o fruit_n be_v great_a in_o the_o end_n now_o be_v the_o rage_n of_o the_o world_n very_o great_a against_o we_o so_o that_o almost_o we_o can_v hope_v for_o none_o other_o thing_n then_o very_a destruction_n and_o that_o the_o tempest_n and_o the_o sea_n shall_v have_v the_o victory_n to_o our_o destruction_n but_o so_o that_o we_o have_v this_o grace_n to_o stick_v sure_a to_o the_o word_n and_o faith_n we_o shall_v see_v a_o more_o joyful_a end_n than_o we_o can_v think_v in_o heart_n the_o hate_n of_o the_o pope_n &_o turk_n be_v great_a than_o a_o man_n will_v believe_v wherewith_o they_o persecute_v the_o congregation_n for_o the_o which_o cause_n we_o groan_v &_o mourn_v as_o a_o woman_n in_o her_o travail_n which_o hate_v nevertheless_o shall_v bring_v with_o it_o some_o comfortable_a thing_n that_o we_o never_o hope_v for_o so_o ought_v every_o man_n to_o thynk_v sure_o in_o his_o own_o behalf_n also_o that_o when_o he_o be_v enuiron_v and_o belayd_v round_o about_o with_o temptation_n that_o in_o the_o end_n the_o fruit_n shall_v be_v most_o certain_a sweet_a and_o pleasant_a wherefore_o how_o great_a the_o doctrine_n of_o this_o gospel_n be_v and_o how_o much_o necessary_a aid_n it_o have_v for_o to_o further_a true_a godliness_n that_o may_v be_v know_v by_o these_o thing_n which_o be_v setforth_o and_o entreat_v of_o as_o touch_v the_o whole_a course_n of_o virtue_n and_o godliness_n and_o if_o we_o be_v sure_a to_o be_v in_o the_o congregation_n among_o the_o godly_a let_v we_o take_v ship_n with_o christ_n and_o there_o let_v we_o not_o refuse_v to_o abide_v the_o tempeste_n and_o this_o most_o grevous_a and_o troublous_a estate_n in_o the_o sea_n of_o this_o world_n and_o when_o this_o grevous_a trouble_n come_v forth_o let_v we_o keep_v ourselves_o diligent_o within_o our_o hold_n and_o defence_n of_o faith_n and_o of_o the_o word_n of_o god_n and_o let_v we_o think_v true_o that_o the_o tempest_n and_o temptation_n shall_v not_o only_o have_v a_o end_n but_o that_o the_o conclusion_n shall_v save_v thereby_o &_o not_o by_o good_a work_n but_o compare_v our_o doctrine_n with_o the_o doctrine_n of_o christ_n and_o you_o shall_v find_v no_o diversity_n in_o the_o four_o book_n of_o moses_n short_a no_o sect_n maker_n no_o monk_n no_o priest_n can_v see_v this_o that_o remission_n of_o sin_n be_v a_o power_n give_v to_o man_n as_o it_o be_v here_o in_o the_o gospel_n wherefore_o learn_v
