&_o all_o his_o affliction_n because_o solomon_n make_v use_v of_o some_o verse_n of_o this_o psalm_n to_o wit_n vers_fw-la 8_o 9_o 10._o almost_o word_n for_o word_n in_o his_o prayer_n at_o the_o therefore_o to_o all_o this_o job_n now_o tell_v he_o that_o he_o be_v so_o wear_v out_o with_o the_o misery_n he_o have_v undergo_v that_o he_o can_v not_o hope_v in_o regard_n of_o any_o strength_n in_o he_o that_o his_o life_n shall_v be_v prolong_v for_o the_o recover_n of_o such_o a_o happy_a condition_n this_o be_v the_o drift_n of_o these_o word_n what_o be_v my_o strength_n that_o i_o shall_v hope_v and_o so_o likewise_o do_v many_o expositor_n understand_v the_o next_o clause_n also_o what_o be_v my_o end_n that_o i_o shall_v prolong_v my_o life_n for_o they_o conceive_v that_o by_o his_o end_n here_o be_v mean_v the_o end_n of_o his_o misery_n that_o he_o can_v not_o see_v any_o likelihood_n that_o his_o misery_n shall_v come_v to_o a_o end_n and_o so_o shall_v therefore_o desire_v still_o to_o live_v or_o rather_o that_o it_o be_v mean_v of_o the_o end_n of_o his_o life_n that_o man_n life_n be_v so_o fade_v and_o transitory_a and_o so_o soon_o at_o a_o end_n there_o be_v no_o reason_n why_o he_o shall_v hope_v long_o to_o prolong_v his_o life_n especial_o lie_v under_o the_o pressure_n of_o such_o insupportable_a misery_n and_o therefore_o have_v just_a cause_n rather_o to_o desire_v that_o he_o may_v be_v present_o cut_v off_o but_o there_o be_v another_o exposition_n of_o the_o last_o clause_n which_o other_o and_o that_o upon_o good_a ground_n do_v most_o approve_v what_o be_v my_o end_n that_o i_o shall_v prolong_v my_o life_n as_o if_o he_o have_v say_v i_o know_v no_o such_o evil_a in_o come_v to_o my_o end_n that_o i_o shall_v desire_v to_o prolong_v my_o life_n the_o misery_n of_o die_a can_v be_v so_o great_a thar_z i_o shall_v desire_v to_o avoid_v that_o to_o spin_v out_o my_o life_n in_o that_o grievous_a misery_n i_o now_o undergo_v since_o after_o death_n i_o be_o sure_a to_o be_v in_o a_o bless_a condition_n let_v they_o therefore_o that_o have_v no_o hope_n in_o their_o death_n desire_v the_o prolong_n of_o their_o sustain_v and_o support_v he_o against_o all_o their_o harsh_a censure_n to_o wit_n his_o innocency_n and_o the_o testimony_n of_o a_o good_a conscience_n and_o that_o he_o do_v still_o continue_v in_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n which_o be_v the_o only_a true_a wisdom_n and_o indeed_o this_o exposition_n agree_v well_o with_o that_o of_o the_o apostle_n gal._n 6.4_o but_o let_v every_o man_n they_o be_v add_v in_o reference_n to_o the_o word_n in_o the_o two_o forego_v verse_n and_o that_o to_o prove_v that_o god_n need_v not_o to_o go_v on_o in_o such_o a_o way_n of_o search_v out_o his_o sin_n as_o man_n be_v wont_a to_o do_v to_o wit_n by_o long_o continue_v torture_n and_o that_o 1._o because_o he_o know_v his_o heart_n and_o therefore_o can_v not_o be_v ignorant_a of_o his_o a_o allusion_n to_o a_o careful_a and_o cunning_a workman_n that_o use_v when_o he_o have_v make_v any_o choice_a piece_n to_o turn_v it_o this_o way_n and_o that_o &_o to_o look_v round_o about_o to_o see_v if_o there_o be_v any_o thing_n that_o be_v defective_a or_o that_o may_v be_v make_v more_o curious_a and_o exact_a then_o as_o yet_o it_o be_v now_o for_o the_o connection_n of_o these_o word_n with_o that_o which_o go_v before_o some_o conceive_v that_o job_n here_o prove_v what_o he_o have_v say_v in_o the_o forego_n verse_n to_o

worldly_a riches_n be_v comprehend_v to_o wit_n when_o they_o be_v well_o get_v &_o so_o continue_v with_o man_n &_o be_v enjoy_v with_o contentment_n which_o last_o they_o take_v to_o be_v employ_v in_o those_o last_o word_n &_o i_o will_v fill_v their_o treasure_n but_o
wicked_a man_n in_o a_o formal_a way_n attend_v upon_o the_o mean_n of_o grace_n especial_o in_o the_o time_n of_o any_o great_a calamity_n or_o at_o the_o hour_n of_o death_n then_o they_o will_v conversation_n aright_o &_o 2._o to_o weigh_v well_o every_o particular_a action_n of_o he_o not_o to_o undertake_v any_o thing_n rash_o but_o to_o understand_v aright_o how_o he_o ought_v to_o and_o destroy_v their_o own_o soul_n for_o this_o be_v hint_v in_o the_o follow_a clause_n but_o the_o folly_n of_o fool_n be_v deceit_n that_o be_v that_o which_o the_o world_n count_v a_o high_a pitch_n of_o wisdom_n but_o be_v indeed_o the_o folly_n of_o fool_n be_v that_o they_o be_v so_o cunning_a &_o crafty_a to_o deceive_v those_o they_o have_v any_o deal_n with_o and_o understand_v all_o the_o mystery_n &_o depth_n of_o satan_n herein_o not_o consider_v what_o the_o issue_n of_o these_o course_n will_v be_v or_o thus_o the_o folly_n of_o fool_n be_v deceit_n that_o be_v the_o wickedness_n of_o wicked_a man_n that_o never_o mind_v their_o way_n but_o give_v up_o themselves_o to_o live_v after_o their_o own_o heart_n lust_n proceed_v mere_o from_o their_o folly_n &_o ignorance_n however_o wise_a they_o may_v think_v themselves_o and_o tend_v to_o the_o deceive_a of_o themselves_o be_v guil_v they_o both_o in_o the_o opinion_n of_o what_o they_o be_v and_o in_o give_v of_o this_o proverb_n by_o several_a interpreter_n 1._o that_o wicked_a man_n make_v a_o sport_n of_o wrong_v and_o abuse_v their_o neighbour_n but_o the_o righteous_a be_v so_o far_o from_o this_o that_o they_o bear_v unfeigned_a good_a will_n one_o towards_o another_o &_o be_v still_o ready_a to_o show_v any_o favour_n they_o be_v able_a to_o those_o with_o who_o they_o converse_v or_o 2._o that_o wicked_a man_n make_v a_o mock_n of_o sin_n as_o if_o there_o be_v no_o danger_n in_o it_o &_o so_o never_o seek_v to_o appease_v god_n displeasure_n &_o to_o procure_v his_o favour_n &_o that_o by_o this_o mean_v they_o usual_o draw_v god_n wrath_n upon_o themselves_o whereas_o the_o righteous_a be_v afraid_a of_o sin_n &_o if_o they_o sin_v be_v very_o careful_a to_o seek_v derision_n and_o flout_v at_o they_o &_o by_o this_o mean_n provoke_v man_n to_o hate_v they_o and_o to_o be_v angry_a with_o they_o but_o the_o righteous_a quite_o contrary_a do_v compassionate_a their_o brethren_n when_o they_o sin_n and_o be_v favourable_a and_o gentle_a towards_o they_o seek_v to_o hide_v and_o excuse_v they_o as_o far_o as_o lawful_o they_o may_v and_o by_o this_o mean_v they_o themselves_o find_v favour_n also_o both_o with_o god_n and_o man_n and_o indeed_o there_o be_v not_o any_o one_o of_o these_o exposition_n but_o have_v much_o probability_n in_o it_o verse_n the_o righteous_a prosper_v and_o increase_v when_o that_o of_o the_o wicked_a shall_v be_v utter_o ruin_v see_v the_o note_n chap._n 12.7_o verse_n 12._o there_o be_v a_o way_n which_o seem_v right_a unto_o a_o man_n etc._n etc._n some_o understand_v this_o thus_o that_o many_o man_n think_v that_o to_o live_v in_o plenty_n and_o to_o enjoy_v all_o variety_n of_o pleasure_n and_o delight_n be_v the_o only_a happy_a &_o desirable_a
