neither_o lose_v nor_o hide_v but_o agree_v herein_o to_o the_o estate_n of_o the_o israelite_n in_o the_o wilderness_n be_v call_v the_o church_n in_o the_o wilderness_n and_o enjoy_v many_o precious_a ordinance_n and_o privilege_n of_o the_o church_n of_o god_n and_o yet_o not_o come_v up_o to_o that_o glory_n and_o rest_n which_o be_v before_o they_o second_o god_n appoint_v this_o wilderness_n condition_n this_o middle_a state_n to_o she_o partly_o for_o safety_n that_o in_o that_o condition_n during_o that_o time_n she_o may_v be_v preserve_v from_o the_o face_n of_o the_o serpent_n verse_n 14._o even_o as_o god_n send_v israel_n into_o the_o wilderness_n to_o preserve_v they_o from_o the_o rage_n of_o pharaoh_n that_o red_a dragon_n until_o such_o time_n as_o the_o promise_a land_n be_v to_o be_v give_v to_o they_o so_o god_n appoint_v such_o a_o wilderness_n as_o it_o be_v a_o wander_a unsettle_a wayfaring_a travail_v condition_n to_o the_o church_n for_o such_o a_o time_n that_o she_o may_v be_v preserve_v from_o the_o overwhelm_a power_n of_o the_o red_a dragon_n until_o she_o come_v unto_o that_o glorious_a settle_a peaceful_a condition_n of_o verse_n 6.14_o even_o as_o he_o do_v gracious_o provide_v for_o israel_n in_o the_o wilderness_n four_o during_o her_o wilderness_n condition_n she_o have_v many_o faithful_a child_n child_n of_o themselves_o unto_o superstitious_a and_o erroneous_a practice_n these_o be_v call_v the_o remnant_n of_o her_o seed_n which_o keep_v the_o commandment_n of_o god_n and_o have_v the_o testimony_n of_o jesus_n christ_n vers_fw-la 17._o i_o desire_v that_o this_o may_v be_v well_o note_v that_o during_o her_o wilderness_n condition_n she_o have_v a_o seed_n a_o remnant_n who_o keep_v the_o commandment_n of_o god_n and_o have_v the_o testimony_n of_o jesus_n christ_n and_o who_o can_v warrantable_o say_v that_o these_o commandment_n of_o god_n be_v not_o the_o ordinance_n of_o god_n and_o the_o ordinance_n of_o believer_n baptism_n among_o other_o ordinance_n and_o who_o therefore_o can_v say_v upon_o good_a ground_n that_o during_o her_o wilderness_n condition_n the_o testimony_n of_o christ_n be_v lose_v and_o the_o commandment_n and_o ordinance_n of_o christ_n be_v lose_v see_v this_o remnant_n of_o her_o seed_n do_v keep_v the_o commandment_n of_o god_n and_o have_v the_o testimony_n of_o jesus_n christ_n that_o be_v they_o practise_v his_o commandment_n and_o hold_v forth_o his_o testimony_n and_o thus_o they_o maintain_v the_o truth_n and_o honour_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n against_o such_o as_o join_v themselves_o unto_o superstitious_a practice_n even_o as_o the_o valiant_a one_o of_o israel_n do_v of_o old_a during_o their_o wilderness_n estate_n maintain_v the_o lord_n honour_n against_o those_o who_o make_v they_o a_o god_n of_o their_o own_o earring_n and_o give_v honour_n to_o it_o exod._n 32.26.27.28.29_o five_o during_o her_o wilderness_n condition_n the_o woman_n and_o the_o remnant_n of_o her_o seed_n meet_v with_o much_o warfare_n and_o with_o many_o opposition_n from_o the_o dragon_n for_o keep_v the_o commandment_n of_o god_n and_o the_o testimony_n of_o jesus_n christ_n vers_fw-la 17._o yet_o these_o opposition_n be_v not_o so_o direct_o from_o the_o dragon_n mention_v in_o this_o chapter_n as_o from_o the_o beast_n mention_v in_o the_o next_o who_o have_v the_o dragon_n power_n and_o venom_n in_o he_o but_o yet_o will_v seem_v to_o be_v very_o devout_a even_o as_o israel_n in_o the_o wilderness_n after_o their_o deliverance_n from_o the_o rage_n of_o the_o red_a dragon_n do_v meet_v with_o many_o opposition_n and_o many_o trouble_n and_o not_o only_o from_o such_o as_o be_v more_o manifest_a enemy_n but_o from_o such_o also_o as_o will_v seem_v to_o be_v very_o zealous_a numb_a 16.1.2.3.4_o 5._o six_o the_o holy_a spirit_n make_v no_o mention_n in_o this_o scripture_n of_o the_o not_o appear_v of_o the_o church_n nor_o the_o loss_n of_o her_o ordinance_n neither_o will_v it_o agree_v to_o the_o condition_n of_o the_o church_n of_o israel_n in_o the_o wilderness_n from_o whence_o as_o i_o say_v i_o conceive_v the_o allusion_n to_o be_v chief_o take_v wherefore_o i_o see_v no_o reason_n why_o such_o a_o conclusion_n shall_v be_v receive_v to_o wit_n that_o the_o church_n be_v lose_v and_o her_o ordinance_n be_v lose_v and_o therefore_o that_o we_o can_v neither_o know_v nor_o do_v any_o thing_n until_o the_o consummation_n of_o that_o time_n of_o the_o church_n be_v in_o the_o wilderness_n sure_o such_o a_o opinion_n do_v arise_v and_o be_v maintain_v from_o the_o policy_n of_o satan_n and_o not_o from_o the_o teach_n of_o the_o holy_a spirit_n other_o thing_n may_v have_v be_v speak_v by_o way_n of_o answer_n to_o that_o objection_n but_o what_o i_o have_v say_v i_o conceive_v may_v suffice_v thus_o much_o concern_v the_o explication_n and_o clear_v the_o last_o general_a head_n what_o i_o have_v say_v concern_v this_o head_n be_v useful_a thus_o far_o to_o wit_n as_o well_o to_o confirm_v and_o establish_v the_o heart_n of_o the_o saint_n who_o be_v under_o the_o practice_n of_o this_o truth_n that_o they_o through_o the_o lord_n help_v may_v stand_v steadfast_a herein_o against_o all_o the_o wile_n of_o satan_n unto_o the_o praise_n of_o god_n as_o also_o to_o give_v satisfaction_n if_o the_o lord_n please_v to_o such_o who_o seem_v to_o make_v scruple_n at_o such_o like_a thing_n as_o these_o to_o hold_v they_o off_o from_o the_o practice_n of_o this_o baptism_n which_o they_o be_v convince_v to_o be_v a_o truth_n of_o christ_n but_o let_v such_o take_v heed_n of_o dally_v with_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o lord_n jesus_n and_o thus_o as_o the_o lord_n have_v help_v i_o i_o have_v clear_v up_o those_o six_o general_a head_n which_o i_o propound_v in_o my_o entrance_n into_o this_o matter_n as_o also_o have_v lay_v down_o in_o brief_a what_o useful_a instrustion_n be_v to_o be_v learn_v from_o each_o of_o they_o to_o conclude_v it_o be_v not_o my_o purpose_n to_o answer_v all_o argument_n particular_o which_o be_v allege_v by_o many_o for_o the_o mantainance_n of_o infant_n baptism_n see_v that_o be_v profitable_o and_o sweet_o do_v by_o other_o of_o the_o lord_n witness_n but_o what_o i_o intend_v and_o propound_v i_o have_v through_o the_o lord_n help_v in_o some_o comfortable_a measure_n perform_v be_v fally_o persuade_v that_o what_o i_o have_v write_v be_v the_o mind_n of_o christ_n and_o may_v serve_v to_o convince_v all_o gainsaying_n and_o overthrow_v all_o argument_n whatsoever_o which_o be_v allege_v for_o infant_n baptism_n and_o to_o satisfy_v all_o such_o who_o have_v not_o a_o prejudice_n against_o the_o truth_n and_o prefer_v other_o thing_n above_o the_o truth_n i_o do_v therefore_o exhort_v all_o such_o who_o profess_v to_o love_v the_o truth_n and_o say_v they_o desire_v to_o know_v and_o obey_v the_o truth_n that_o they_o lie_v aside_o all_o prejudice_n worldly_a respect_n self-end_n carnal_a reason_n and_o question_n about_o word_n which_o be_v not_o to_o edification_n
