those_o thing_n that_o tend_v to_o salvation_n and_o so_o miserable_a no_o outward_a worldly_a condition_n nor_o riches_n can_v take_v away_o this_o poverty_n though_o one_o abound_v with_o gold_n and_o precious_a stone_n goodly_a house_n great_a revenue_n gorgeous_a apparel_n great_a attendant_n yet_o he_o be_v poor_a in_o soul_n neither_o be_v any_o furnish_v with_o such_o excellency_n of_o humane_a knowledge_n and_o wisdom_n sharpness_n of_o wit_n exactness_n of_o judgement_n but_o for_o all_o these_o he_o remain_v poor_a for_o as_o he_o that_o be_v disease_v in_o body_n and_o all_o ulcerous_a though_o it_o be_v outward_o cover_v yet_o be_v in_o itself_o no_o less_o it_o may_v be_v more_o dangerous_a by_o concealment_n and_o as_o the_o riches_n of_o the_o mind_n do_v not_o help_v the_o outward_a mean_n of_o estate_n so_o much_o less_o do_v the_o outward_a riches_n lessen_v the_o soul_n poverty_n use_v the_o use_n whereof_o be_v to_o take_v down_o the_o crest_n of_o all_o worldly_a glory_n what_o do_v thou_o boast_v of_o thy_o glitter_a garment_n sumptuous_a building_n noble_a parentage_n beauty_n when_o as_o in_o the_o mean_a while_o they_o be_v stain_v with_o the_o loathsome_a leprosy_n of_o sin_n and_o therefore_o as_o one_o will_v choose_v to_o be_v bear_v of_o poor_a parent_n so_o they_o be_v clean_o and_o sound_a simile_n then_o of_o the_o great_a nobility_n disease_v and_o leprous_a so_o much_o less_o can_v any_o true_o boast_v of_o any_o worldly_a thing_n be_v bear_v defile_v and_o attaint_v of_o treason_n before_o god_n what_o will_v thy_o dainty_a meat_n do_v thy_o body_n good_a when_o thy_o soul_n want_v bread_n and_o water_n ☞_o what_o will_v thy_o large_a possession_n help_v thou_o if_o thou_o can_v not_o have_v so_o much_o as_o a_o corner_n their_o misery_n and_o therefore_o be_v not_o such_o as_o to_o who_o christ_n be_v send_v to_o work_v on_o can_v a_o vessel_n full_a of_o water_n receive_v any_o other_o liquor_n simile_n must_v it_o
