power_n add_v hereunto_o that_o the_o holy_a ghost_n beget_v faith_n in_o we_o and_o sanctifi_v we_o that_o so_o we_o may_v
for_o otherwise_o the_o very_a name_n of_o god_n be_v contemptuous_o use_v but_o as_o a_o oath_n respect_v thing_n to_o come_v there_o be_v five_o thing_n to_o be_v observe_v 1_o first_o that_o the_o that_o by_o it_o controversy_n which_o hurt_v christian_a charity_n be_v end_v as_o the_o apostle_n speak_v 16._o heb._n 6._o 16._o swear_v against_o anabaptiste_n that_o whole_o condemn_v swear_v sufficient_o express_v in_o such_o oath_n and_o that_o therefore_o therein_o sin_n be_v commit_v against_o this_o commandment_n therefore_o his_o purpose_n be_v not_o to_o forbid_v the_o lawful_a use_n of_o a_o oath_n but_o the_o abuse_n as_o when_o a_o man_n swear_v vain_o by_o what_o name_n or_o in_o what_o manner_n soever_o it_o be_v do_v theoph._n it_o follow_v therefore_o that_o it_o be_v lawful_a to_o swear_v by_o creature_n so_o as_o it_o be_v not_o vain_o forasmuch_o as_o the_o name_n of_o god_n be_v secret_o understand_v in_o they_o matth._n yea_o very_o yet_o with_o this_o condition_n that_o those_o creature_n be_v avoid_v in_o swear_v which_o have_v be_v common_o abuse_v to_o idolatry_n matter_n thus_o this_o learned_a man_n and_o some_o other_o have_v think_v of_o this_o matter_n for_o then_o the_o name_n of_o god_n be_v not_o understand_v under_o they_o but_o it_o be_v even_o suppress_v that_o they_o may_v have_v his_o room_n the_o honour_n be_v give_v unto_o they_o which_o belong_v to_o the_o majesty_n of_o god_n alone_o but_o this_o do_v they_o which_o swear_v by_o the_o name_n of_o saint_n depart_v in_o which_o respect_n the_o lord_n be_v bitter_o angry_a with_o they_o that_o swear_v by_o other_o god_n and_o take_v that_o kind_n of_o swear_v to_o be_v a_o argument_n of_o manifest_a fall_v away_o from_o he_o whereupon_o he_o complain_v of_o the_o israelite_n in_o jeremie_n in_o these_o word_n 7._o jerem._n 5._o 7._o thy_o child_n have_v forsake_v i_o &_o swear_v by_o those_o which_o be_v not_o go_n and_o that_o indeed_o very_o just_o
