spirit_n of_o faith_n see_v some_o light_n through_o those_o thick_a cloud_n enough_o to_o keep_v the_o soul_n from_o utter_a despair_n though_o not_o to_o settle_v it_o in_o peace_n in_o this_o dark_a condition_n if_o they_o do_v as_o saint_n paul_n and_o his_o company_n do_v cast_v anchor_n even_o in_o the_o dark_a night_n of_o temptation_n and_o pray_v still_o for_o day_n god_n will_v appear_v and_o all_o shall_v clear_v up_o we_o shall_v see_v light_n without_o and_o light_v within_o the_o daystar_n will_v arise_v in_o their_o heart_n though_o by_o reflect_v upon_o our_o soul_n we_o be_v able_a to_o discern_v a_o spirit_n of_o faith_n god_n may_v hide_v himself_o from_o the_o soul_n in_o regard_n of_o comfort_n nay_o a_o christian_a may_v know_v himself_o to_o be_v in_o the_o state_n of_o grace_n and_o yet_o be_v in_o a_o afflict_a condition_n as_o in_o job_n case_n he_o know_v his_o redeemer_n live_v and_o he_o resolve_v to_o trust_v in_o he_o even_o though_o he_o kill_v he_o he_o know_v he_o be_v no_o hypocrite_n he_o know_v his_o grace_n be_v true_a and_o for_o all_o the_o imputation_n of_o his_o friend_n they_o can_v not_o dispute_v he_o out_o of_o his_o sincerity_n you_o shall_v not_o take_v my_o uprightness_n from_o i_o yet_o for_o the_o present_a he_o see_v no_o light_n from_o heaven_n till_o it_o please_v god_n to_o reveal_v himself_o in_o special_a favour_n to_o he_o there_o be_v always_o peace_n and_o joy_n in_o believe_v yet_o not_o in_o that_o degree_n which_o give_v the_o soul_n content_a until_o by_o honour_v god_n in_o believe_v and_o wait_v still_o his_o good_a time_n he_o honour_v we_o with_o further_a sense_n of_o his_o favour_n and_o pour_v forth_o his_o spirit_n to_o we_o manifest_v his_o special_a love_n towards_o we_o and_o this_o be_v a_o further_a degree_n of_o seal_v of_o we_o confirm_v we_o more_o strong_o than_o before_o the_o reason_n why_o we_o can_v neither_o have_v grace_n to_o believe_v nor_o know_v we_o believe_v nor_o when_o we_o know_v we_o believe_v enjoy_v comfort_n without_o a_o fresh_a new_a act_n of_o the_o spirit_n be_v because_o the_o whole_a carriage_n of_o a_o soul_n to_o heaven_n be_v above_o nature_n where_o the_o spirit_n make_v a_o stand_n we_o stand_v and_o can_v go_v no_o further_o we_o can_v conclude_v from_o right_a ground_n without_o some_o help_n of_o the_o spirit_n some_o doubt_n some_o fear_n will_v hinder_v the_o application_n to_o ourselves_o even_o as_o those_o that_o live_v in_o some_o damnable_a sin_n can_v but_o grant_v that_o those_o that_o live_v in_o such_o a_o sin_n shall_v never_o inherit_v heaven_n and_o their_o conscience_n tell_v they_o they_o live_v in_o such_o a_o sin_n yet_o self-love_n blind_v they_o so_o that_o they_o will_v not_o conclude_v against_o themselves_o that_o they_o shall_v be_v damn_v so_o true_a believer_n can_v conclude_v for_o themselves_o without_o divine_a light_n and_o help_v it_o please_v god_n thus_o to_o keep_v every_o degree_n and_o act_n of_o seal_v in_o his_o own_o hand_n to_o keep_v we_o in_o a_o perpetual_a dependence_n upon_o he_o and_o to_o awe_v we_o that_o we_o shall_v not_o grieve_v the_o spirit_n of_o grace_n and_o cause_v he_o to_o suspend_v either_o act_n of_o grace_n or_o comfort_n joy_n and_o strong_a comfort_n come_v from_o a_o superadded_a seal_n of_o the_o spirit_n the_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n be_v of_o a_o double_a kind_n either_o in_o we_o by_o imprint_v sanctify_a grace_n or_o upon_o we_o by_o shine_v upon_o our_o soul_n in_o sweet_a feeling_n of_o joy_n what_o the_o spirit_n work_v in_o we_o be_v more_o constant_a as_o a_o new_a nature_n which_o be_v always_o like_o itself_o and_o work_v uniform_o but_o comfort_n and_o joy_n be_v of_o the_o nature_n of_o such_o privilege_n as_o god_n vouchsafe_v that_o one_o time_n and_o not_o another_o to_o some_o and_o not_o to_o other_o this_o degree_n of_o seal_v in_o regard_n of_o joy_n have_v its_o degree_n likewise_o sometime_o it_o be_v so_o clear_a and_o strong_a that_o the_o soul_n question_v not_o its_o state_n in_o grace_n ever_o after_o but_o pass_v on_o in_o a_o triumphant_a manner_n to_o that_o glory_n it_o look_v for_o sometime_o after_o this_o seal_n there_o may_v be_v interrupt_v of_o comfortable_a communion_n so_o far_o as_o to_o question_v our_o condition_n yet_o this_o call_n into_o question_n come_v not_o from_o the_o spirit_n which_o where_o it_o once_o witness_v for_o we_o never_o witness_v against_o we_o but_o it_o be_v a_o fruit_n of_o the_o flesh_n not_o full_o subdue_v it_o be_v a_o sin_n itself_o and_o usual_o a_o fruit_n of_o some_o former_a sin_n for_o howsoever_o we_o shall_v not_o doubt_v after_o a_o former_a witness_n of_o the_o spirit_n yet_o there_o will_v be_v so_o much_o weaken_v the_o sense_n of_o our_o assurance_n at_o there_o be_v yield_v to_o any_o lust_n the_o knowledge_n of_o our_o estate_n in_o grace_n and_o comfort_v thereupon_o though_o it_o may_v be_v weaken_v by_o neglect_n of_o our_o watchfulness_n yet_o still_o it_o have_v the_o force_n of_o a_o argument_n to_o assure_v we_o when_o the_o spirit_n please_v to_o direct_v we_o to_o make_v use_n of_o it_o because_o god_n love_n vary_v not_o as_o our_o feel_n do_v and_o a_o fit_a do_v not_o alter_v a_o state_n the_o child_n in_o the_o womb_n stir_v not_o always_o yet_o it_o live_v and_o that_o may_v be_v gather_v from_o the_o former_a stir_n this_o degree_n of_o seal_v by_o way_n of_o witness_n and_o comfort_n be_v appropriate_v to_o the_o holy_a spirit_n every_o person_n
