and_o convince_v gainsayer_n etc._n etc._n the_o second_o be_v that_o these_o ministerial_a ability_n do_v qualify_v man_n for_o the_o work_n of_o the_o ministry_n as_o they_o make_v they_o suitable_a and_o competent_a thereunto_o and_o fit_v they_o to_o perform_v their_o office_n and_o the_o several_a act_n thereof_o by_o gift_n as_o to_o pray_v by_o a_o gift_n of_o prayer_n to_o preach_v by_o a_o gift_n of_o preach_v and_o to_o dispute_v by_o a_o gift_n or_o faculty_n of_o disputation_n and_o not_o to_o preach_v other_o man_n sermon_n or_o say_v other_o man_n prayer_n only_o hence_o a_o man_n endow_v with_o good_a part_n natural_a and_o acquire_v by_o diligent_a read_n study_n discourse_n and_o prayer_n to_o god_n for_o illumination_n direction_n assistance_n etc._n etc._n 1._o may_v attain_v to_o a_o large_a clear_a distinct_a knowledge_n of_o religion_n and_o the_o several_a principle_n and_o point_n of_o it_o 2._o may_v be_v able_a to_o teach_v the_o same_o plain_o sound_o and_o profitable_o to_o other_o to_o instruct_v convince_v reprove_v confirm_v and_o comfort_v other_o 3._o may_v be_v through_o god_n blessing_n instrumental_a for_o the_o good_a of_o other_o for_o edify_v the_o body_n of_o christ_n for_o build_v up_o in_o knowledge_n faith_n holiness_n and_o obedience_n for_o carry_v on_o the_o work_n of_o the_o lord_n promote_a reformation_n and_o further_a the_o salvation_n of_o other_o and_o for_o information_n of_o some_o who_o have_v grace_n real_o of_o some_o thing_n they_o know_v not_o before_o and_o for_o resolution_n of_o some_o doubt_n and_o scruple_n 4._o may_v be_v useful_a in_o the_o church_n of_o god_n to_o defend_v and_o maintain_v the_o christian_a religion_n and_o all_o the_o point_n of_o it_o especial_o controversal_a against_o for_o there_o be_v many_o real_a christian_n who_o have_v good_a experience_n of_o the_o practical_a part_n of_o religion_n yet_o want_v ability_n for_o the_o controversal_a part_n or_o defence_n of_o the_o truth_n against_o the_o oppugner_n of_o it_o hence_o also_o i_o infer_v that_o datur_fw-la medium_fw-la or_o there_o be_v a_o mean_a between_o a_o minister_n preach_v from_o experience_n of_o the_o new_a birth_n or_o work_v of_o grace_n etc._n etc._n in_o his_o own_o soul_n which_o be_v indeed_o the_o most_o comfortable_a and_o effectual_a and_o a_o minister_n take_v a_o sermon_n out_o of_o a_o book_n which_o he_o never_o make_v and_o get_v it_o by_o heart_n and_o say_v or_o preach_v it_o the_o mean_a between_o they_o be_v a_o minister_n make_v of_o a_o sermon_n by_o a_o gift_n god_n have_v give_v he_o and_o by_o study_n and_o preach_v it_o afterward_o though_o he_o have_v not_o the_o experience_n of_o it_o in_o himself_o as_o there_o be_v a_o mean_a between_o pray_v by_o the_o spirit_n or_o the_o spirit_n of_o prayer_n and_o read_v of_o a_o prayer_n out_o of_o a_o book_n or_o use_v a_o bare_a form_n of_o prayer_n and_o that_o mean_a be_v pray_v by_o
