prince_n peer_n magistrate_n together_o with_o the_o common_a people_n of_o all_o country_n and_o province_n of_o the_o west_n as_o also_o the_o greek_a church_n and_o all_o the_o country_n and_o province_n in_o communion_n with_o it_o all_o these_o learned_a and_o pious_a christian_n i_o say_v that_o flourish_v in_o and_o govern_v this_o part_n of_o the_o world_n when_o martin_n luther_n be_v as_o clear_v and_o evident_a on_o the_o protestant_n side_n as_o that_o twice_o two_o make_v four_o for_o who_o ever_o in_o his_o wit_n deny_v that_o twice_o two_o do_v make_v four_o or_o in_o his_o right_a sense_n ever_o affirm_v that_o white_a be_v black_a or_o black_a white_a or_o that_o any_o of_o our_o sense_n when_o they_o be_v perfect_a do_v not_o give_v irrefragable_a testimony_n of_o their_o proper_a object_n or_o that_o plain_a and_o evident_a text_n of_o scripture_n be_v not_o to_o be_v believe_v these_o monstrous_a absurdity_n the_o dr._n fasten_v upon_o all_o the_o eminent_a and_o learned_a man_n of_o the_o eastern_a and_o western_a church_n which_o flourish_v not_o only_a when_o martin_n luther_n rise_v up_o but_o also_o by_o his_o own_o acknowledgement_n for_o at_o least_o several_a age_n before_o he_o which_o be_v in_o effect_n to_o brand_v they_o all_o with_o the_o ignominious_a character_n of_o fool_n and_o madman_n if_o all_o the_o great_a the_o opposition_n and_o laugh_v at_o or_o rather_o pity_v the_o rest_n of_o the_o world_n etc._n etc._n the_o dr._n know_v very_o well_o and_o so_o do_v all_o the_o learned_a protestant_n in_o the_o world_n that_o the_o latin_a and_o greek_a church_n and_o all_o in_o communion_n with_o they_o have_v not_o only_o declare_v for_o but_o have_v always_o believe_v at_o least_o for_o several_a age_n transubstantiation_n as_o aforesaid_a if_o it_o be_v then_o so_o notorious_o contrary_a both_o to_o the_o sense_n and_o reason_n of_o mankind_n as_o the_o dr._n will_v suggest_v all_o those_o man_n whereof_o a_o great_a number_n have_v at_o least_o the_o reputation_n of_o be_v both_o learned_a and_o virtuous_a must_v necessary_o have_v be_v all_o of_o they_o out_o of_o their_o wit_n or_o bias_v tell_v we_o that_o colour_n contradict_v the_o sense_n of_o hear_v or_o sound_v the_o sense_n of_o see_v have_v we_o say_v that_o there_o be_v a_o trans-accidentation_a in_o that_o mystery_n the_o dr._n will_v then_o indeed_o have_v be_v in_o the_o right_a to_o press_v his_o argument_n accident_n be_v the_o proper_a object_n of_o our_o sense_n but_o sure_o we_o never_o say_v any_o such_o thing_n consequent_o we_o never_o contradict_v our_o sense_n upon_o that_o subject_a we_o see_v with_o our_o eye_n that_o the_o accident_n remain_v the_o same_o as_o before_o we_o therefore_o conclude_v that_o the_o change_n must_v be_v in_o the_o substance_n which_o we_o can_v see_v because_o christ_n tell_v we_o it_o be_v his_o body_n and_o because_o we_o be_v sure_a he_o be_v able_a by_o his_o omnipotent_a power_n to_o make_v it_o his_o body_n but_o say_v the_o doctor_n there_o be_v all_o the_o accident_n of_o the_o bread_n and_o where_o ever_o the_o proper_a accident_n of_o any_o substance_n be_v there_o the_o substance_n must_v necessary_o be_v answ_n 1._o suppose_v this_o be_v true_a there_o be_v still_o no_o contradict_v of_o sense_n in_o the_o case_n since_o we_o own_o the_o accident_n be_v there_o which_o alone_o be_v the_o object_n of_o our_o sense_n 2._o will_v the_o dr._n himself_o say_v that_o this_o be_v and_o always_o be_v necessary_o true_a no_o for_o he_o tell_v we_o vol._n 2._o pag._n 67._o that_o god_n may_v impose_v upon_o our_o sense_n and_o if_o he_o tell_v we_o the_o thing_n be_v otherwise_o than_o it_o appear_v we_o must_v believe_v he_o holy_a ghost_n who_o sure_o have_v neither_o colour_n shape_v nor_o figure_n to_o affect_v our_o sense_n and_o whatever_o shape_n or_o figure_n the_o holy_a ghost_n appear_v in_o st._n john_n be_v still_o in_o right_n of_o maintain_v his_o ground_n and_o of_o affirm_v if_o we_o believe_v the_o doctor_n that_o what_o he_o see_v be_v not_o the_o holy_a ghost_n but_o a_o dove_n or_o something_o else_o for_o he_o may_v have_v say_v with_o the_o doctor_n the_o evidence_n of_o sense_n be_v infallible_a whatever_o my_o eye_n represent_v to_o i_o i_o must_v believe_v it_o take_v away_o the_o evidence_n of_o sense_n and_o you_o destroy_v all_o knowledge_n what_o appear_v to_o my_o eye_n be_v a_o dove_n therefore_o i_o can_v nor_o must_v not_o believe_v it_o be_v the_o holy_a ghost_n or_o our_o sense_n only_o where_o the_o word_n and_o omnipotent_a power_n of_o god_n it_o please_v to_o interpose_v nor_o do_v it_o in_o the_o least_o shake_v the_o external_n mean_v of_o confirm_v the_o truth_n of_o christianity_n as_o the_o doctor_n will_v bear_v the_o world_n in_o hand_n it_o do_v for_o when_o our_o saviour_n bid_v the_o apostle_n have_v recourse_n to_o their_o sense_n to_o convince_v they_o of_o the_o truth_n of_o his_o resurrection_n he_o do_v not_o tell_v they_o that_o they_o must_v not_o believe_v their_o sense_n in_o that_o particular_a since_o we_o be_v then_o in_o all_o thing_n which_o be_v not_o repugnant_a to_o god_n word_n not_o only_o allow_v to_o follow_v the_o evidence_n of_o our_o sense_n for_o that_o we_o always_o uncontrollable_o do_v but_o also_o may_v safe_o believe_v that_o the_o substance_n which_o such_o accident_n or_o object_n of_o our_o sense_n usual_o represent_v be_v infallible_o there_o how_o can_v that_o doctrine_n which_o be_v warrant_v by_o the_o same_o divine_a word_n in_o that_o wherein_o it_o seem_v to_o be_v repugnant_a to_o sense_n destroy_v the_o external_a mean_n of_o confirm_v the_o truth_n of_o christianity_n it_o be_v evident_a that_o wherever_o christ_n appeal_v to_o the_o evidence_n of_o sense_n for_o the_o proof_n of_o any_o of_o his_o miracle_n he_o never_o disclaim_v that_o evidence_n nor_o say_v nor_o act_v any_o thing_n that_o may_v seem_v to_o invalidate_v it_o but_o sure_o this_o can_v be_v say_v of_o the_o eucharist_n nor_o of_o st._n john_n dove_n nor_o yet_o of_o lot_n young_a man_n for_o it_o be_v say_v of_o the_o first_o that_o it_o be_v the_o body_n of_o christ_n though_o it_o have_v the_o appearance_n of_o bread_n of_o the_o second_o that_o it_o be_v the_o holy_a ghost_n though_o under_o the_o appearance_n of_o a_o dove_n and_o of_o the_o three_o that_o they_o be_v angel_n though_o under_o the_o appearance_n of_o men._n now_o how_o can_v the_o belief_n of_o transubstantiation_n destroy_v the_o external_a mean_n of_o confirm_v the_o truth_n of_o christianity_n any_o more_o than_o the_o belief_n of_o the_o holy_a ghost_n under_o the_o form_n of_o a_o dove_n or_o of_o the_o angel_n under_o the_o form_n of_o man_n here_o be_v a_o dove_n and_o two_o man_n in_o appearance_n and_o as_o far_o as_o corporeal_a sense_n can_v discover_v yet_o they_o be_v believe_v to_o be_v the_o holy_a ghost_n and_o two_o angel_n there_o be_v bread_n in_o appearance_n yet_o it_o be_v believe_v to_o be_v the_o body_n of_o christ_n be_v not_o the_o evidence_n of_o our_o sense_n equal_o disclaim_v in_o both_o do_v not_o we_o believe_v contrary_a to_o what_o we_o see_v in_o the_o one_o as_o well_o as_o in_o the_o other_o notwithstanding_o no_o man_n ever_o yet_o
very_o hard_o if_o not_o impossible_a to_o receive_v such_o a_o injury_n or_o provocation_n from_o the_o governor_n of_o the_o church_n as_o may_v make_v a_o separation_n excusable_a impossible_a according_a to_o st._n austin_n that_o there_o shall_v be_v any_o just_a cause_n for_o any_o to_o separate_v from_o the_o church_n true_o catholic_n thus_o far_o the_o dr._n and_o indeed_o very_o flesh_n and_o blood_n 3._o it_o be_v very_o material_a to_o our_o present_a dispute_n to_o know_v whence_o those_o passage_n object_v by_o the_o doctor_n be_v take_v and_o this_o he_o himself_o be_v careful_a to_o tell_v we_o namely_o that_o they_o be_v take_v out_o of_o those_o father_n dispute_n with_o heretic_n in_o which_o sort_n of_o write_v it_o be_v natural_a for_o any_o man_n to_o take_v
