albeit_o they_o worship_v that_o which_o be_v no_o god_n yet_o none_o of_o they_o have_v so_o behave_v themselves_o towards_o a_o suppose_a deity_n as_o he_o have_v do_v towards_o the_o true_a god_n calling_n and_o place_n where_o it_o be_v not_o lawful_a to_o haunt_v every_o particular_a country_n and_o people_n have_v their_o own_o tentation_n to_o particular_a sin_n from_o which_o sin_n of_o of_o trouble_n set_v they_o to_o trace_v they_o back_o and_o make_v enquiry_n for_o these_o mariner_n mind_v their_o own_o gain_n put_v none_o of_o these_o question_n to_o jonah_n when_o they_o take_v he_o aboard_o till_o the_o storm_n lead_v they_o to_o see_v their_o folly_n and_o rashness_n 5._o the_o lord_n in_o pursue_v for_o sin_n know_v how_o to_o order_v challenge_n so_o as_o may_v make_v sin_n most_o bitter_a to_o the_o guilty_a therefore_o do_v he_o order_v the_o mariner_n move_v of_o these_o question_n what_o be_v thy_o occupation_n etc._n etc._n every_o one_o of_o which_o may_v be_v a_o sting_n to_o jonah_n conscience_n that_o he_o a_o prophet_n shall_v be_v flee_v from_o god_n come_v from_o the_o holy_a land_n and_o the_o church_n shall_v be_v rebellious_a and_o pursue_v direct_v he_o to_o god_n and_o when_o he_o be_v as_o far_o to_o his_o own_o sense_n from_o god_n and_o his_o favour_n as_o hell_n be_v from_o heaven_n he_o look_v on_o that_o but_o as_o a_o argument_n to_o move_v he_o to_o cry_v the_o loud_o 3._o as_o god_n can_v help_v in_o great_a distress_n so_o the_o prayer_n of_o the_o child_n of_o god_n in_o their_o deep_a affliction_n flow_v from_o real_a indigence_n and_o need_n will_v get_v a_o good_a answer_n for_o jonah_n faith_n strengthen_v of_o god_n see_v the_o one_o when_o in_o affliction_n and_o out_o of_o the_o belly_n of_o hell_n he_o cry_v and_o in_o his_o experience_n he_o find_v the_o other_o that_o he_o pray_v not_o in_o vain_a he_o hear_v i_o prayer_n speed_v best_a when_o feel_v necessity_n instruct_v the_o sincerity_n of_o it_o and_o when_o it_o be_v speak_v out_o of_o the_o dust_n than_o faith_n will_v by_o prayer_n bring_v help_v from_o heaven_n to_o one_o little_a better_a then_o in_o hell_n 4._o the_o lord_n seasonable_a the_o greatness_n of_o his_o trial_n in_o that_o he_o have_v to_o do_v with_o a_o angry_a god_n pursue_v he_o in_o anger_n who_o have_v take_v and_o cast_v he_o into_o the_o sea_n and_o into_o the_o depth_n and_o midst_n of_o it_o where_o wave_n of_o sea_n without_o and_o of_o tentation_n within_o overwhelm_v he_o hence_o learn_v 1._o serious_n thought_n and_o apprehension_n of_o trouble_n be_v needful_a not_o only_a when_o we_o be_v in_o it_o for_o stir_v we_o up_o to_o prayer_n but_o when_o deliver_v also_o to_o set_v forth_o the_o greatness_n of_o mercy_n for_o all_o this_o variety_n of_o be_v most_o instrumental_a and_o active_a in_o it_o therefore_o there_o be_v no_o word_n of_o the_o mariner_n but_z thou_o have_v cast_v i_o into_o the_o deep_a 3._o unto_o the_o child_n of_o god_n affliction_n be_v nothing_o to_o bear_v in_o comparison_n of_o god_n displeasure_n who_o afflict_v and_o of_o the_o tentation_n which_o look_v on_o he_o as_o a_o party_n do_v raise_v for_o his_o displeasure_n for_o the_o scope_n of_o all_o this_o account_n of_o his_o trial_n and_o tentation_n tend_v also_o to_o set_v forth_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n that_o have_v enable_v he_o to_o cry_v to_o he_o in_o all_o this_o extremity_n it_o be_v the_o admirable_a power_n of_o faith_n support_v by_o grace_n that_o he_o dare_v call_v on_o a_o angry_a god_n dare_v follow_v after_o he_o when_o he_o do_v jonahs_n experience_n teach_v i_o say_v i_o be_o cast_v out_o yet_o will_v i_o look_v again_o 3._o in_o a_o time_n of_o tentation_n unbeliefe_n word_n be_v ordinary_o first_fw-mi out_o till_o faith_n come_v and_o correct_v it_o ordinary_o what_o be_v say_v in_o haste_n be_v unbeliefe_n language_n and_o to_o be_v un-said_a again_o for_o this_o come_v first_o out_o i_o be_o cast_v out_o of_o thy_o sight_n 4._o a_o child_n of_o god_n may_v not_o only_o be_v assault_v with_o fit_n of_o despair_n but_o for_o a_o time_n be_v overcome_v with_o it_o and_o yield_v to_o it_o and_o yet_o for_o who_o live_v by_o god_n favour_n and_o be_v make_v up_o in_o all_o his_o affliction_n when_o he_o find_v that_o god_n think_v on_o he_o and_o that_o his_o trouble_n endear_v he_o to_o god_n care_n for_o this_o be_v jonahs_n apprehension_n and_o sad_a complaint_n i_o be_o cast_v out_o of_o thy_o sight_n 6._o it_o be_v no_o new_a thing_n to_o see_v a_o child_n of_o god_n and_o vessel_n of_o mercy_n apprehend_v reprobation_n and_o rejection_n from_o god_n in_o his_o sad_a and_o dark_a hour_n for_o this_o also_o be_v jonahs_n temptation_n 7._o nor_o be_v it_o strange_a to_o see_v the_o child_n of_o god_n exercise_v and_o sad_o afflict_v with_o that_o which_o have_v never_o be_v nor_o will_v be_v save_v in_o their_o own_o fearful_a apprehension_n for_o so_o be_v jonah_n with_o cast_v off_o when_o we_o reckon_v by_o our_o own_o deserve_n and_o by_o probabilyty_n in_o a_o strait_a and_o not_o by_o god_n love_n and_o all-sufficiency_n we_o can_v but_o draw_v sad_a conclusion_n and_o our_o own_o spirit_n will_v make_v we_o work_v enough_o 8._o tentation_n even_o when_o they_o have_v overcome_v for_o a_o season_n be_v not_o to_o be_v lie_v under_o and_o give_v way_n to_o by_o the_o child_n of_o god_n but_o aught_o to_o be_v resist_v and_o set_v against_o though_o they_o shall_v if_o it_o be_v possible_a perish_v in_o the_o attempt_n this_o be_v the_o way_n to_o honour_n god_n and_o get_v deliverance_n for_o vanquish_a jonah_n will_v not_o quit_v it_o so_o yet_o will_v i_o look_v again_o 9_o that_o whereby_o the_o child_n of_o the_o lord_n must_v oppose_v all_o trouble_n doubt_n or_o to_o seek_v any_o foot_n for_o faith_n but_o in_o god_n covenant_n and_o free_a grace_n in_o christ_n be_v the_o height_n of_o folly_n 10._o the_o weak_a act_n of_o faith_n may_v do_v much_o good_a in_o a_o day_n of_o great_a need_n for_o in_o all_o this_o extremity_n jonah_n have_v no_o more_o but_o a_o look_v again_o as_o a_o poor_a banish_a man_n 11._o faith_n in_o a_o time_n of_o need_n will_v find_v a_o way_n through_o many_o a_o dark_a impediment_n to_o meet_v with_o god_n therefore_o jonah_n enclose_v in_o the_o sea_n and_o not_o know_v where_o the_o temple_n towards_o do_v miserable_o disappoint_v 3._o albeit_o thing_n stand_v thus_o yet_o man_n be_v so_o delude_v and_o dote_v that_o they_o will_v place_v their_o confidence_n and_o look_v for_o happiness_n in_o
