thâ—_n son_n of_o god_n be_v once_o make_v man_n for_o he_o let_v he_o be_v teach_v for_o a_o preparative_n to_o believe_v that_o he_o thus_o daily_o take_v the_o form_n of_o a_o piece_n of_o bread_n for_o he_o and_o so_o not_o only_o the_o mean_n shall_v prove_v incomparable_o more_o hard_a to_o brook_v than_o the_o end_n most_o preposterous_o but_o also_o that_o which_o be_v intend_v to_o comfort_n or_o suppose_v to_o exercise_v the_o weak_a faith_n shall_v overwhelm_v and_o break_v the_o back_n of_o the_o strong_a faith_n though_o who_o know_v not_o the_o intent_n of_o this_o sacrament_n be_v to_o refresh_v and_o nourish_v not_o to_o exercise_v the_o faith_n and_o that_o the_o way_n thereunto_o shall_v be_v by_o supply_v new_a strength_n and_o produce_v more_o plain_a evidence_n not_o by_o increase_v the_o burden_n and_o further_o perplex_v the_o sense_n last_o of_o all_o what_o intent_n or_o benefit_n can_v there_o be_v imagine_v for_o the_o behoof_n of_o man_n which_o our_o saviour_n can_v effect_v unto_o we_o without_o his_o bodily_a presence_n yea_o the_o least_o miracle_n that_o ever_o we_o read_v of_o and_o whereunto_o the_o omnipotence_n of_o god_n do_v least_o of_o all_o descend_v be_v it_o but_o the_o soft_a voice_n or_o the_o reach_v forth_o of_o a_o hand_n etc._n etc._n will_v it_o not_o far_o more_o move_v and_o work_v upon_o the_o heart_n of_o man_n be_v miracle_n now_o to_o be_v expect_v then_o this_o all-surpassing_a reall-presence_n and_o most_o stupendous_a concur_v operation_n we_o conclude_v then_o that_o no_o possible_a or_o imaginable_a intent_n of_o this_o our_o saviour_n ordinance_n do_v take_v any_o the_o least_o furtherance_n by_o these_o manner_n of_o suppose_n but_o rather_o be_v utter_o oppress_v and_o confound_v thereby_o for_o whereas_o the_o principal_a intent_n thereof_o be_v to_o put_v we_o in_o mind_n that_o he_o take_v the_o form_n of_o a_o man_n for_o we_o what_o do_v these_o suppose_n but_o teach_v the_o flat_a contrary_n namely_o that_o he_o have_v leave_v the_o form_n of_o a_o man_n and_o have_v betake_v unto_o he_o the_o form_n of_o common_a bread_n yea_o not_o only_o the_o intent_n of_o this_o sacrament_n but_o even_o the_o foundation_n of_o the_o christian_a faith_n be_v distemper_v and_o as_o much_o as_o in_o man_n lie_v overturn_v hereby_o for_o if_o he_o that_o be_v a_o perfect_a man_n seem_v to_o be_v a_o morsel_n of_o bread_n if_o he_o seem_v to_o be_v bodily_a eat_v and_o seem_v to_o be_v chew_v with_o the_o tooth_n when_o indeed_o he_o be_v neither_o so_o eat_v chew_v or_o any_o way_n touch_v shall_v not_o man_n hereby_o learn_v to_o imagine_v that_o likewise_o when_o he_o be_v here_o upon_o earth_n he_o may_v seem_v to_o be_v a_o man_n and_o yet_o be_v not_o seem_v to_o bleed_v suffer_v and_o die_v and_o yet_o indeed_o do_v not_o and_o so_o the_o life_n and_o power_n of_o our_o salvation_n to_o come_v to_o nothing_o if_o then_o neither_o the_o word_n of_o our_o saviour_n nor_o any_o imaginable_a meaning_n of_o they_o do_v enforce_v this_o reall-presence_n where_o be_v the_o scripture_n that_o must_v make_v we_o put_v out_o our_o eye_n and_o renounce_v all_o our_o wit_n for_o gainsaying_n it_o or_o that_o scripture_n which_o tell_v we_o that_o we_o must_v eat_v his_o flesh_n etc._n etc._n do_v it_o of_o necessity_n bind_v we_o to_o believe_v that_o here_o it_o be_v in_o the_o form_n of_o bread_n as_o if_o the_o true_a eat_n of_o this_o flesh_n indeed_o do_v not_o consist_v in_o our_o only_a believe_v on_o he_o and_o that_o before_o ever_o we_o taste_v of_o this_o sacrament_n or_o must_v we_o suppose_v that_o though_o no_o scripture_n express_o affirm_v these_o thing_n yet_o by_o inference_n or_o circumstance_n they_o may_v imply_v as_o much_o yea_o rather_o the_o clean_a contrary_n for_o have_v our_o saviour_n intend_v that_o this_o his_o ordinance_n shall_v be_v accompany_v with_o these_o so_o uncouth_a and_o incredible_a operation_n together_o with_o such_o deformity_n of_o his_o presence_n will_v he_o not_o have_v give_v most_o express_a intelligence_n
