what_o we_o must_v do_v to_o make_v meditation_n easy_a to_o we_o it_o be_v only_o the_o body_n which_o make_v the_o soul_n dull_a and_o heavy_a this_o be_v the_o ground_n of_o our_o stupidity_n now_o all_o sensible_a object_n work_v upon_o we_o only_o by_o mean_n of_o the_o body_n therefore_o it_o be_v evident_a that_o to_o hearken_v without_o pain_n to_o the_o answer_n which_o truth_n pronounce_v within_o we_o we_o have_v nothing_o to_o do_v but_o to_o silence_v our_o sense_n imagination_n and_o passion_n or_o in_o a_o word_n to_o still_o that_o confuse_a noise_n which_o the_o body_n make_v in_o we_o now_o every_o man_n know_v by_o his_o own_o experience_n that_o the_o body_n be_v quiet_a enough_o when_o nothing_o stir_v it_o from_o without_o or_o have_v not_o too_o much_o stir_v it_o before_o for_o since_o it_o retain_v a_o long_a time_n those_o impression_n and_o motion_n which_o it_o have_v receive_v from_o sensible_a object_n i_o confess_v that_o the_o imagination_n remain_v pollute_v and_o hurt_v when_o we_o have_v be_v so_o indiscreet_a as_o to_o be_v too_o familiar_a with_o pleasure_n notwithstanding_o the_o wound_n will_v close_v up_o of_o itself_o and_o the_o brain_n will_v return_v to_o its_o former_a state_n if_o we_o careful_o avoid_v the_o action_n of_o all_o object_n that_o strike_v our_o sense_n which_o we_o be_v always_o able_a to_o do_v at_o least_o in_o some_o measure_n with_o those_o necessary_a help_n which_o i_o all_o along_o suppose_v let_v we_o do_v what_o we_o can_v on_o our_o part_n and_o we_o shall_v be_v so_o far_o from_o be_v out_o of_o love_n with_o meditation_n that_o we_o shall_v find_v ourselves_o so_o well_o reward_v that_o we_o shall_v not_o repent_v of_o our_o pain_n provide_v nevertheless_o that_o we_o observe_v the_o follow_a rule_n without_o which_o notwithstanding_o all_o our_o meditation_n we_o shall_v never_o be_v reward_v with_o a_o clear_a view_n of_o truth_n my_o design_n here_o be_v not_o to_o teach_v the_o art_n of_o think_v nor_o to_o deliver_v all_o the_o rule_n by_o which_o the_o mind_n ought_v to_o regulate_v every_o step_n in_o take_v in_o the_o search_n of_o truth_n the_o subject_a of_o
