of_o live_v and_o die_v their_o conversation_n the_o care_n and_o pain_n they_o take_v in_o order_n to_o salvation_n and_o then_o let_v they_o speak_v free_o upon_o their_o own_o knowledge_n whether_o the_o papist_n be_v general_o the_o worst_a of_o their_o neighbourhood_n whether_o they_o be_v less_o conscientious_a less_o humble_a less_o charitable_a etc._n etc._n than_o other_o of_o any_o other_o persuasion_n but_o especial_o let_v they_o have_v a_o particular_a regard_n to_o such_o as_o be_v convert_v to_o the_o catholic_a communion_n and_o observe_v they_o with_o a_o watchful_a eye_n it_o be_v certain_a if_o popery_n be_v as_o black_a as_o it_o be_v paint_v and_o so_o many_o degree_n worse_o than_o protestantism_n it_o will_v be_v impossible_a for_o a_o man_n of_o protestant_n to_o become_v papist_n but_o it_o will_v soon_o be_v discover_v in_o the_o immorality_n of_o his_o life_n and_o action_n let_v these_o convert_v therefore_o be_v rigorous_o observe_v to_o see_v whether_o with_o the_o change_n of_o religion_n they_o change_v their_o life_n too_o for_o the_o worst_a and_o appear_v under_o all_o those_o foul_a colour_n that_o be_v pretend_v to_o belong_v to_o popery_n let_v they_o see_v in_o particular_a whether_o upon_o be_v papist_n and_o go_v to_o confession_n they_o be_v now_o less_o scrupulous_a of_o offend_v god_n and_o more_o debauch_v than_o they_o be_v before_o as_o it_o be_v say_v of_o the_o papist_n in_o protestant_a sermon_n viz._n that_o confession_n tend_v 25._o good_a advice_n to_o pulp_n p._n 53._o answer_v to_o it_o p._n 21_o 25._o to_o etc._n let_v all_o convert_v be_v strict_o observe_v as_o to_o these_o and_o such_o like_a point_n which_o be_v the_o common_a pulpit-character_n of_o popery_n if_o it_o be_v true_a what_o be_v thus_o solemn_o assert_v with_o the_o bible_n in_o hand_n the_o truth_n of_o it_o must_v necessary_o appear_v for_o these_o be_v not_o mere_a speculation_n confine_v within_o the_o heart_n and_o head_n but_o they_o be_v such_o principle_n as_o influence_n the_o outward_a man_n and_o must_v indispensable_o regulate_v the_o action_n of_o one_o life_n so_o that_o if_o this_o be_v the_o common_a doctrine_n of_o popery_n it_o will_v be_v impossible_a for_o so_o many_o professor_n of_o that_o religion_n every_o where_o to_o be_v find_v and_o not_o to_o discover_v such_o a_o abominable_a belief_n of_o their_o heart_n in_o the_o common_a practice_n of_o their_o life_n since_o therefore_o we_o be_v come_v to_o thing_n of_o practice_n and_o fact_n of_o which_o every_o man_n be_v own_o eye_n and_o ear_n may_v be_v judge_n i_o challenge_v protestant_n in_o their_o own_o way_n i_o appeal_v from_o the_o pulpit_n to_o the_o pew_v and_o instead_o of_o implicit_a faith_n pin_v on_o the_o pulpit_n require_v the_o people_n to_o make_v use_n of_o their_o own_o sense_n to_o these_o we_o be_v content_v to_o stand_v and_o to_o their_o arbitration_n to_o refer_v all_o the_o debate_n of_o misrepresent_v if_o our_o life_n and_o action_n our_o conversation_n live_v and_o die_v be_v so_o much_o worse_a than_o all_o the_o rest_n of_o our_o neighbour_n answerable_a to_o what_o we_o be_v accuse_v of_o from_o the_o pulpit_n we_o be_v deserve_o evil_n speak_v of_o and_o for_o my_o part_n i_o shall_v willing_o receive_v the_o sentence_n of_o have_v my_o hand_n tie_v from_o ever_o pen_v any_o thing_n for_o the_o future_a in_o favour_n of_o a_o people_n of_o such_o pernicious_a principle_n and_o detestable_a practice_n and_o the_o church_n of_o england_n i_o will_v own_v acquit_v from_o the_o charge_n of_o misrepresent_v now_o in_o this_o appeal_n i_o can_v expect_v that_o there_o shall_v be_v none_o wicked_a or_o scandalous_a find_v in_o our_o communion_n it_o be_v well_o know_v that_o the_o perfect_a of_o creature_n the_o very_a angel_n in_o heaven_n can_v not_o pretend_v to_o this_o while_o
