what_o himself_o and_o colleague_n have_v resolve_v and_o only_o by_o some_o in_o africa_n during_o the_o absence_n of_o their_o bishop_n second_o as_o to_o the_o word_n whereby_o st._n cyprian_n profess_v to_o gornelius_n that_o he_o for_o his_o part_n do_v exhort_v all_o that_o sail_v out_o of_o africa_n to_o rome_n that_o they_o shall_v acknowledge_v and_o embrace_v the_o root_n and_o matrix_fw-la of_o the_o catholic_a church_n who_o can_v imagine_v any_o other_o thing_n shall_v be_v mean_v by_o they_o but_o that_o he_o exhort_v such_o people_n when_o they_o come_v to_o rome_n that_o they_o shall_v join_v themselves_o to_o the_o party_n and_o communion_n of_o the_o lawful_a bishop_n of_o rome_n because_o his_o communion_n be_v the_o root_n and_o matrix_fw-la of_o the_o church_n and_o have_v nothing_o to_o do_v with_o the_o schismatic_n the_o bishop_n will_v have_v we_o think_v he_o mean_v only_o to_o exhort_v they_o in_o general_a to_o acknowledge_v and_o adhere_v to_o the_o unity_n of_o the_o catholic_a church_n which_o though_o we_o deny_v not_o but_o it_o may_v be_v in_o some_o sense_n term_v the_o root_n and_o matrix_fw-la of_o the_o church_n yet_o sure_o in_o this_o place_n it_o can_v be_v think_v little_o less_o than_o frivolous_a for_o st._n cyprian_a so_o especial_o to_o exhort_v those_o traveller_n to_o acknowledge_v that_o unity_n be_v the_o root_n of_o the_o church_n beside_o what_o satisfaction_n or_o just_a apology_n can_v st._n cyprian_n think_v it_o will_v be_v to_o cornelius_n already_o somewhat_o offend_v with_o he_o though_o by_o mistake_n for_o not_o due_o acknowledge_v his_o authority_n to_o tell_v he_o that_o he_o exhort_v all_o people_n that_o come_v out_o of_o africa_n to_o rome_n that_o they_o shall_v acknowledge_v unity_n to_o be_v the_o root_n of_o the_o church_n or_o that_o they_o shall_v keep_v the_o unity_n of_o the_o church_n in_o general_a without_o specify_v his_o communion_n or_o the_o communion_n of_o the_o lawful_a bishop_n of_o rome_n in_o particular_a the_o acknowledgement_n then_o of_o the_o root_n and_o matrix_fw-la of_o the_o church_n which_o st._n cyprian_n here_o mean_v and_o exhort_v good_a christian_n to_o make_v and_o constant_o stand_v to_o when_o they_o come_v to_o rome_n have_v doubtless_o something_o in_o it_o more_o special_a than_o this_o that_o be_v to_o say_v it_o must_v relate_v to_o that_o which_o even_o by_o st._n cyprian_n own_v judgement_n 3._o elsewhere_o deliver_v be_v the_o root_n and_o matrix_fw-la of_o the_o church_n unity_n to_o wit_n the_o lawful_a successor_n of_o st._n peter_n to_o who_o the_o church_n itself_o owe_v her_o unity_n and_o about_o who_o there_o be_v at_o that_o time_n dispute_v and_o controversy_n and_o a_o doubt_v raise_v among_o christian_n at_o rome_n so_o that_o with_o very_o good_a reason_n st._n cyprian_n may_v exhort_v such_o as_o sail_v 〈◊〉_d to_o adhere_v to_o he_o and_o acknowledge_v he_o as_o be_v indeed_o the_o root_n and_o matrix_fw-la of_o ecclesiastical_a unity_n as_o likewise_o to_o disow_v and_o reject_v the_o party_n they_o shall_v find_v averse_a to_o he_o this_o indeed_o be_v a_o convenient_a subject_n of_o exhortation_n and_o well_o worthy_a of_o st._n cyprian_n charity_n and_o zeal_n but_o that_o he_o shall_v exhort_v they_o to_o any_o thing_n else_o in_o this_o place_n or_o no_o more_o than_o the_o relatour_n will_v seem_v to_o think_v be_v whole_o incredible_a but_o the_o bishop_n conceive_v it_o can_v not_o be_v st._n cyprian_n meaning_n and_o intention_n here_o to_o
