second_o thing_n in_o the_o first_o part_n be_v this_o that_o as_o god_n child_n be_v bring_v to_o this_o estate_n so_o they_o be_v sensible_a of_o it_o they_o be_v flesh_n and_o not_o steel_n they_o have_v not_o the_o strength_n of_o steel_n as_o job_n affliction_n say_v they_o be_v man_n they_o be_v not_o stone_n they_o be_v christian_n they_o be_v not_o stoic_n therefore_o st._n paul_n as_o he_o be_v in_o extremity_n so_o he_o apprehend_v his_o extremity_n and_o with_o all_o his_o heart_n he_o will_v have_v escape_v if_o he_o can_v he_o look_v about_o to_o all_o evasion_n how_o he_o and_o feel_v with_o a_o secret_a murmur_a and_o repine_v and_o heaviness_n and_o dulness_n as_o indeed_o corrupt_a nature_n will_v always_o have_v a_o bout_n in_o cross_n it_o will_v always_o play_v its_o part_n first_o or_o last_o there_o be_v always_o these_o three_o work_n in_o the_o child_n of_o god_n in_o all_o extremity_n grace_n work_v and_o that_o carry_v up_o up_o still_o trust_v in_o god_n it_o look_v to_o heaven_n it_o look_v to_o the_o end_n and_o issue_n that_o all_o be_v for_o good_a nature_n it_o fill_v full_a of_o sense_n and_o pain_n and_o make_v a_o man_n desire_v remedy_n and_o ease_n corrupt_a nature_n stir_v a_o man_n up_o to_o fret_v and_o say_v what_o do_v god_n mean_a to_o do_v thus_o it_o stir_v a_o man_n ofttimes_o to_o use_v ill_a mean_n indirect_a course_n adam_n in_o innocence_n will_v have_v be_v affect_v and_o exquisite_o sensible_a no_o doubt_n if_o his_o body_n have_v be_v wrong_v for_o the_o more_o pure_a the_o complexion_n the_o more_o sensible_a of_o solution_n as_o physician_n say_v when_o that_o which_o shall_v be_v knit_v together_o if_o any_o thing_n be_v loose_v by_o sickness_n or_o by_o wound_n that_o shall_v by_o nature_n not_o be_v hurt_v but_o continue_v together_o it_o breed_v exquisite_a pain_n as_o to_o cut_v that_o which_o shall_v not_o be_v cut_v to_o disjoin_v that_o which_o shall_v be_v together_o this_o be_v in_o nature_n the_o schoolman_n say_v and_o the_o reason_n be_v good_a that_o christ_n pain_n be_v the_o great_a pain_n because_o his_o sense_n be_v not_o dull_v and_o stupefy_v with_o sensuality_n or_o any_o grievance_n to_o this_o outward_a man_n of_o they_o to_o the_o body_n especial_o in_o death_n as_o we_o see_v here_o st._n paul_n and_o there_o be_v most_o patience_n where_o there_o be_v most_o sense_n it_o be_v stupidity_n and_o blockishness_n else_o why_o be_v god_n child_n so_o sensible_a in_o grief_n especial_o in_o death_n quest._n oh_o there_o be_v a_o great_a cause_n indeed_o in_o some_o regard_v they_o be_v not_o afraid_a of_o it_o ans._n for_o death_n be_v a_o enemy_n to_o nature_n it_o be_v none_o to_o grace_n but_o when_o i_o speak_v comfort_n not_o of_o grace_n and_o glory_n but_o of_o nature_n have_v not_o nature_n great_a cause_n to_o tremble_v at_o death_n when_o it_o be_v a_o enemy_n to_o nature_n even_o to_o right_a nature_n it_o be_v the_o king_n of_o fear_n friend_n can_v part_v without_o grief_n how_o shall_v these_o bosom-friend_n these_o unite_a friend_n body_n and_o soul_n part_n without_o grief_n this_o marriage_n between_o the_o soul_n and_o the_o body_n can_v be_v disunite_v without_o exquisite_a pain_n be_v old_a acquaintance_n again_o nature_n abhor_v death_n it_o hinder_v we_o of_o all_o employment_n it_o hinder_v of_o all_o service_n of_o god_n in_o church_n and_o commonwealth_n and_o so_o grace_v which_o employment_n be_v beyond_o nature_n do_v a_o little_a desire_n the_o continuance_n of_o life_n but_o nature_n even_o out_o of_o no_o sinful_a principle_n it_o see_v that_o now_o i_o can_v serve_v god_n no_o long_o i_o can_v do_v god_n no_o more_o service_n i_o can_v do_v good_a no_o long_o in_o this_o world_n and_o therefore_o it_o take_v it_o to_o heart_n our_o savour_n say_v while_o you_o have_v light_a walk_v the_o night_n come_v when_o no_o man_n be_v able_a to_o work_v the_o night_n of_o sickness_n and_o death_n so_o

it_o for_o a_o man_n to_o humour_n man_n and_o displease_v conscience_n his_o best_a friend_n of_o all_o person_n and_o all_o thing_n in_o the_o world_n we_o shall_v reverence_v our_o own_o of_o all_o to_o have_v foul_a conscience_n but_o to_o answer_v a_o objection_n and_o to_o unloose_v some_o knot_n it_o may_v be_v objection_n say_v that_o when_o the_o heart_n of_o people_n be_v good_a yet_o there_o a_o good_a conscience_n conclude_v not_o always_o for_o comfort_n where_o there_o be_v faith_n in_o christ_n and_o a_o honest_a life_n conscience_n shall_v conclude_v comfort_n here_o be_v the_o rule_n this_o i_o have_v obey_v therefore_o i_o shall_v have_v comfort_n now_o this_o we_o see_v cross_v ofttimes_o that_o christian_n that_o live_v exact_a life_n be_v often_o trouble_v in_o conscience_n how_o can_v trouble_v of_o conscience_n stand_v with_o joy_n upon_o the_o witness_n of_o conscience_n i_o answer_v the_o witness_n of_o conscience_n when_o it_o be_v a_o good_a conscience_n it_o do_v not_o always_o breed_v joy_n comfort_n it_o be_v because_o our_o estate_n be_v imperfect_a here_o and_o conscience_n do_v not_o always_o witness_v out_o of_o the_o goodness_n of_o it_o sometimee_fw-fr conscience_n be_v mislead_v and_o so_o sometime_o good_a christian_n take_v the_o error_n of_o conscience_n for_o the_o witness_n of_o conscience_n these_o thing_n shall_v be_v distinguish_v conscience_n sometime_o in_o the_o best_a err_v as_o well_o as_o give_v a_o true_a witness_n if_o we_o take_v the_o error_n of_o conscience_n for_o the_o witness_n of_o conscience_n there_o will_v come_v trouble_n of_o conscience_n and_o that_o deserve_o through_o our_o own_o folly_n now_o conscience_n do_v err_v in_o good_a man_n sometime_o when_o they_o regard_v rule_n which_o they_o shall_v not_o or_o when_o they_o mistake_v the_o matter_n and_o do_v not_o argue_v aright_o as_o for_o instance_n when_o they_o gather_v thus_o i_o have_v not_o grace_v in_o such_o a_o measure_n and_o therefore_o i_o have_v none_o i_o be_o not_o the_o child_n of_o god_n what_o a_o rule_n be_v this_o this_o be_v the_o error_n of_o conscience_n and_o therefore_o it_o must_v needs_o breed_v perplexity_n of_o conscience_n a_o good_a conscience_n when_o it_o be_v right_n can_v witness_v thus_o because_o the_o word_n do_v not_o say_v thus_o be_v a_o nullity_n and_o a_o imperfection_n all_o one_o no_o there_o be_v much_o difference_n in_o the_o whole_a kind_n a_o nullity_n be_v nothing_o a_o imperfection_n though_o it_o be_v but_o a_o little_a degree_n yet_o it_o be_v something_o this_o be_v the_o error_n of_o conscience_n and_o from_o thence_o come_v trouble_n of_o conscience_n which_o make_v man_n reason_n ill_o many_o way_n as_o for_o instance_n i_o have_v not_o so_o much_o grace_n as_o such_o a_o one_o have_v and_o therefore_o i_o have_v no_o grace_n now_o that_o be_v a_o false_a reason_n for_o every_o one_o have_v his_o due_a measure_n if_o thou_o be_v not_o so_o great_a a_o rich_a man_n as_o the_o rich_a in_o the_o town_n yet_o thou_o may_v be_v rich_a in_o thy_o kind_n again_o when_o conscience_n look_v to_o the_o humour_n you_o be_v to_o live_v by_o faith_n and_o not_o by_o the_o humour_n of_o melancholy_a when_o the_o instrument_n of_o reason_n that_o shall_v judge_v be_v distemper_v by_o melancholy_n it_o reason_n from_o thence_o false_o because_o melancholy_a persuade_v i_o that_o i_o be_o so_o therefore_o conscience_n be_v lead_v by_o the_o humour_n of_o the_o body_n say_v i_o be_o so_o who_o bid_v thou_o live_v by_o humour_n thou_o must_v live_v by_o rule_n melancholy_n may_v tell_v thou_o sometime_o when_o it_o be_v in_o strength_n that_o thou_o be_v make_v of_o glass_n as_o it_o have_v do_v some_o it_o will_v deceive_v thou_o in_o bodily_a thing_n wherein_o sense_n can_v confute_v melancholy_a much_o more_o will_v it_o if_o we_o yield_v to_o it_o in_o matter_n of_o the_o soul_n it_o will_v persuade_v we_o that_o we_o be_v not_o the_o child_n of_o god_n that_o we_o have_v not_o grace_n and_o goodness_n when_o we_o have_v again_o hence_o it_o be_v that_o conscience_n do_v not_o conclude_v comfort_n in_o god_n child_n because_o it_o look_v to_o the_o ill_a and_o not_o to_o the_o good_a that_o be_v in_o they_o for_o there_o be_v those_o two_o thing_n in_o god_n child_n there_o be_v good_a and_o ill_a now_o in_o the_o time_n of_o temptation_n they_o look_v to_o the_o ill_a and_o think_v they_o have_v no_o good_a because_o they_o will_v not_o see_v any_o thing_n but_o ill_n they_o fix_v their_o eye_n on_o the_o remainder_n of_o their_o rebellious_a lust_n which_o be_v not_o full_o subdue_v in_o they_o and_o they_o look_v whole_o on_o they_o whereas_o they_o shall_v have_v two_o eye_n one_o to_o look_v on_o that_o which_o be_v good_a that_o god_n may_v have_v glory_n and_o they_o comfort_n now_o they_o fix_v their_o eye_n altogether_o on_o that_o which_o be_v naught_o and_o because_o they_o do_v not_o or_o will_v not_o see_v that_o which_o be_v good_a therefore_o they_o have_v no_o comfort_n because_o they_o suffer_v conscience_n to_o be_v ill_o lead_v that_o it_o do_v not_o its_o be_v not_o sufficient_a to_o be_v in_o the_o grace_n of_o god_n but_o to_o have_v the_o report_n of_o it_o to_o our_o own_o heart_n to_o have_v it_o shine_v upon_o we_o how_o shall_v we_o carry_v ourselves_o so_o that_o we_o may_v be_v in_o state_n of_o grace_n that_o be_v in_o such_o a_o state_n as_o we_o may_v find_v the_o sweet_a evidence_n and_o comfortable_a grace_n feel_n continual_o that_o we_o be_v god_n child_n first_o of_o all_o there_o must_v be_v a_o perpetual_a daily_a practice_n of_o abase_v ourselves_o of_o make_v ourselves_o poor_a that_o be_v every_o day_n to_o see_v the_o vanity_n of_o all_o ans._n thing_n in_o the_o world_n out_o of_o we_o to_o see_v the_o weakness_n of_o grace_n in_o we_o to_o see_v ourselves_o the_o return_n of_o our_o corruption_n that_o foil_n we_o every_o day_n that_o so_o we_o may_v see_v in_o what_o need_n we_o stand_v of_o the_o favour_n of_o god_n consider_v that_o all_o comfort_n without_o be_v vanity_n and_o that_o all_o the_o grace_n in_o we_o be_v stain_v with_o corruption_n consider_v beside_o the_o stain_n of_o our_o grace_n that_o there_o be_v a_o continual_a issue_n of_o corruption_n these_o thing_n will_v make_v our_o spirit_n poor_a and_o make_v we_o hunger_n and_o thirst_n after_o the_o sense_n and_o feel_n of_o free_a pardon_n every_o day_n this_o will_v enforce_v we_o to_o renew_v our_o patent_n to_o renew_v our_o portion_n in_o the_o covenant_n of_o grace_n to_o have_v daily_a pardon_n this_o shall_v be_v our_o daily_a practice_n to_o enter_v deep_o and_o deep_a into_o ourselves_o this_o be_v to_o live_v by_o faith_n as_o god_n be_v continual_o ready_a to_o show_v we_o favour_n in_o christ_n not_o only_o at_o the_o first_o in_o acquit_v we_o from_o our_o sin_n but_o continual_o do_v show_v we_o favour_n upon_o all_o occasion_n and_o be_v justifing_n and_o pardon_v and_o speak_v peace_n continual_o to_o we_o so_o there_o must_v be_v a_o action_n answerable_a in_o we_o that_o be_v with_o the_o endowment_n and_o grace_n of_o god_n spirit_n that_o we_o may_v be_v object_n of_o god_n delight_n let_v we_o labour_n to_o be_v affect_v to_o thing_n as_o he_o be_v affect_v two_o can_v walk_v together_o except_o they_o be_v agree_v let_v we_o hate_v that_o which_o god_n hate_v and_o delight_n in_o that_o which_o god_n delight_v in_o that_o we_o may_v have_v a_o kind_n of_o complacency_n and_o be_v in_o love_n with_o the_o bless_a work_n of_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n more_o and_o more_o let_v we_o labour_n to_o delight_v in_o they_o that_o grow_v in_o grace_n as_o the_o near_a any_o one_o come_v to_o our_o likeness_n the_o more_o we_o grow_v in_o familiarity_n with_o they_o labour_v also_o to_o preserve_v a_o clear_a soul_n that_o god_n may_v shine_v upon_o we_o god_n delight_v not_o in_o strangeness_n to_o we_o his_o desire_n be_v that_o we_o may_v walk_v in_o the_o sense_n and_o assurance_n of_o his_o grace_n and_o favour_n how_o shall_v we_o know_v that_o god_n enrich_v the_o soul_n where_o he_o show_v favour_n his_o love-token_n be_v some_o grace_n therefore_o if_o the_o witness_n and_o comfort_n of_o the_o spirit_n cease_v in_o case_n of_o desertion_n let_v we_o go_v to_o the_o work_n of_o the_o spirit_n and_o by_o that_o we_o may_v know_v if_o we_o be_v in_o grace_n with_o god_n for_o god_n people_n be_v a_o peculiar_a people_n and_o god_n child_n have_v always_o some_o peculiar_a grace_n some_o ornament_n some_o jewel_n the_o spouse_n of_o christ_n have_v which_o other_o have_v not_o therefore_o examine_v thy_o heart_n what_o in_o despair_n but_o a_o sound_n christian_n take_v he_o at_o the_o worst_a he_o can_v sigh_v to_o god_n he_o can_v go_v to_o he_o and_o open_v his_o soul_n to_o he_o by_o christ_n we_o have_v a_o his_o word_n as_o a_o father_n of_o mercy_n and_o god_n of_o comfort_n represent_v he_o to_o our_o soul_n as_o he_o represent_v himself_o in_o his_o word_n time_n of_o desertion_n when_o we_o seem_v our_o feel_n but_o it_o be_v his_o mercy_n that_o he_o do_v that_o it_o be_v his_o mercy_n that_o he_o hinder_v the_o sense_n of_o mercy_n he_o do_v that_o in_o mercy_n it_o be_v to_o make_v we_o think_v of_o this_o when_o god_n seem_v to_o forget_v we_o can_v a_o mother_n forget_v her_o child_n isa._n 49._o 15._o suppose_v she_o shall_v be_v so_o unnatural_a as_o to_o do_v it_o which_o can_v hardly_o be_v believe_v that_o a_o mother_n shall_v forget_v her_o child_n yet_o notwithstanding_o i_o will_v not_o forget_v you_o you_o be_v write_v upon_o the_o palm_n of_o my_o hand_n that_o be_v i_o have_v you_o always_o in_o my_o eye_n so_o that_o if_o there_o be_v no_o mercy_n to_o be_v find_v in_o nature_n no_o bowel_n to_o be_v find_v in_o a_o mother_n where_o usual_o they_o be_v most_o that_o he_o propound_v though_o he_o think_v not_o of_o his_o end_n in_o every_o step_n and_o he_o consult_v and_o ask_v about_o the_o way_n and_o all_o to_o that_o end_n so_o it_o be_v with_o a_o carnal_a man_n too_o he_o that_o walk_v after_o carnal_a wisdom_n carnal_a wisdom_n have_v its_o end_n and_o that_o be_v a_o man_n self_n for_o a_o carnal_a man_n himself_o be_v the_o idol_n and_o the_o idolater_n his_o end_n be_v himself_o either_o in_o his_o honour_n or_o in_o his_o pleasure_n or_o riches_n etc._n etc._n himself_o be_v the_o centre_n into_o which_o all_o the_o line_n of_o his_o life_n fall_v and_o he_o have_v rule_n seek_v thyself_o in_o all_o thing_n love_v thyself_o above_o all_o and_o what_o then_o if_o thou_o love_v other_o love_v they_o for_o thyself_o as_o far_o as_o they_o may_v serve_v thy_o turn_n care_v for_o no_o man_n further_o than_o thou_o can_v make_v use_n of_o he_o for_o thyself_o respect_v he_o so_o far_o and_o no_o further_o but_o it_o may_v be_v all_o to_o be_v so_o but_o baseness_n be_v join_v with_o much_o envy_n when_o it_o see_v another_o overshadow_v it_o it_o labour_v to_o eclipse_v he_o with_o slander_n and_o base_a report_n this_o wisdom_n have_v carnal_a end_n and_o carnal_a rule_n and_o carnal_a course_n answerable_a it_o consult_v upon_o the_o attain_n of_o its_o end_n it_o deliberate_v and_o consult_v and_o shrewd_o too_o for_o it_o be_v whet_v by_o satan_n and_o then_o it_o go_v with_o the_o stream_n of_o the_o world_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v carry_v very_o strong_o towards_o its_o end_n and_o then_o it_o resolve_v strong_o because_o fleshly_a wisdom_n usual_o be_v with_o the_o time_n and_o then_o it_o execute_v god_n suffer_v it_o ofttimes_o to_o come_v to_o execution_n and_o to_o enjoy_v its_o plot_n and_o project_n and_o therefore_o in_o regard_n that_o it_o have_v the_o same_o passage_n though_o in_o a_o contrary_a kind_n with_o other_o wisdom_n it_o be_v call_v wisdom_n though_o indeed_o it_o be_v not_o wisdom_n and_o thereupon_o it_o have_v a_o diminish_n term_n here_o it_o be_v fleshly_a wisdom_n now_o this_o wisdom_n be_v call_v fleshly_a because_o it_o be_v lead_v with_o reason_n instead_o of_o the_o creator_n bless_v for_o evermore_o and_o that_o from_o this_o reason_n because_o the_o creature_n the_o thing_n below_o be_v near_o to_o we_o and_o pleasant_a to_o we_o and_o because_o we_o be_v bring_v up_o in_o these_o delight_n of_o the_o creature_n that_o be_v sensible_a and_o therefore_o the_o flesh_n the_o base_a part_n be_v ready_a to_o draw_v away_o the_o soul_n to_o the_o delight_n of_o it_o because_o the_o delight_n of_o it_o be_v pleasant_a and_o we_o be_v train_v up_o in_o they_o from_o the_o begin_n of_o our_o life_n to_o the_o end_n of_o it_o now_o these_o thing_n below_o the_o profit_n and_o pleasure_n and_o honour_n they_o work_v first_o upon_o the_o sense_n upon_o the_o outward_a man_n and_o from_o the_o sense_n they_o ascend_v to_o the_o fancy_n and_o imagination_n and_o that_o be_v carnal_a by_o nature_n esteem_v more_o high_o of_o they_o then_o there_o be_v cause_n and_o esteem_v of_o the_o contrary_a to_o these_o as_o the_o great_a ill_n oh_o poverty_n be_v worse_a than_o hell_n to_o a_o carnal_a man_n and_o he_o have_v rather_o be_v dead_a then_o be_v disgrace_v he_o have_v rather_o damn_v his_o soul_n then_o to_o be_v deny_v of_o his_o pleasure_n imagination_n make_v they_o such_o great_a thing_n and_o the_o devil_n help_v imagination_n he_o have_v much_o affinity_n with_o that_o part_n with_o the_o imagination_n and_o imagination_n when_o man_n have_v strong_a conceit_n of_o these_o thing_n that_o labour_v to_o draw_v the_o will_n and_o affection_n to_o itself_o to_o sway_v that_o part_n so_o that_o the_o will_n the_o command_a part_n of_o the_o soul_n for_o the_o most_o part_n it_o yield_v to_o these_o imagination_n of_o base_a thing_n it_o conceive_v of_o they_o high_o and_o the_o contrary_a to_o be_v have_v in_o the_o creation_n and_o now_o be_v under_o original_a corruption_n be_v under_o the_o law_n of_o sin_n it_o be_v lead_v by_o a_o carnal_a will_n and_o imagination_n and_o by_o sense_n and_o be_v rule_v by_o they_o so_o that_o that_o which_o shall_v rule_v all_o be_v rule_v by_o base_a earthly_a thing_n the_o soul_n of_o man_n while_o we_o live_v here_o be_v between_o thing_n better_o he_o frame_v and_o fit_v the_o heart_n to_o entertain_v these_o to_o take_v the_o benefit_n of_o they_o he_o comfort_v we_o in_o all_o tribulation_n to_o comfort_n be_v to_o support_v the_o soul_n what._n against_o the_o grievance_n past_a or_o feel_v or_o fear_v there_o may_v be_v some_o remainder_n of_o grief_n for_o what_o be_v past_a grief_n present_a press_v most_o and_o grief_n fear_v now_o god_n comfort_v whatsoever_o the_o grievance_n be_v by_o support_v the_o soul_n against_o it_o as_o i_o say_v before_o we_o be_v in_o tribulation_n in_o this_o life_n and_o yet_o in_o all_o tribulation_n god_n do_v comfort_v we_o to_o add_v to_o that_o i_o say_v before_o of_o this_o point_n let_v we_o therefore_o go_v mean_n to_o god_n in_o all_o the_o mean_n of_o comfort_n because_o he_o be_v the_o god_n of_o it_o and_o he_o must_v comfort_v we_o therefore_o when_o we_o send_v for_o divine_n or_o read_v holy_a book_n for_o we_o must_v use_v all_o mean_n we_o must_v not_o set_v god_n against_o his_o mean_n but_o join_v they_o together_o to_o add_v that_o caution_n by_o the_o way_n we_o may_v not_o therefore_o necessitate_v the_o god_n of_o comfort_n that_o because_o he_o mean_n comfort_v we_o therefore_o we_o will_v neglect_v read_v and_o prayer_n and_o conference_n with_o they_o that_o god_n have_v exercise_v in_o the_o school_n of_o christ_n who_o shall_v speak_v comfort_n to_o the_o weary_a soul_n by_o their_o office_n no_o no_o god_n and_o his_o mean_n must_v be_v join_v together_o we_o must_v trust_v god_n but_o not_o tempt_v he_o to_o set_v god_n against_o his_o mean_n be_v to_o tempt_v he_o that_o because_o he_o be_v the_o god_n of_o comfort_n therefore_o we_o will_v use_v no_o mean_n no_o physician_n for_o the_o body_n or_o for_o the_o soul_n this_o be_v absurd_a he_o be_v the_o god_n of_o comfort_n in_o the_o mean_n he_o comfort_v we_o in_o all_o tribulation_n by_o mean_n if_o they_o be_v to_o be_v have_v if_o there_o be_v no_o mean_n to_o be_v have_v he_o be_v the_o god_n of_o comfort_n he_o can_v create_v they_o and_o if_o it_o be_v so_o far_o that_o there_o be_v no_o mean_n but_o the_o contrary_a he_o be_v a_o god_n that_o can_v comfort_v out_o of_o discomfort_n and_o can_v as_o i_o say_v make_v the_o great_a ground_n of_o comfort_n out_o of_o the_o great_a discomfort_n but_o he_o be_v a_o god_n of_o the_o mean_n if_o they_o be_v to_o be_v have_v if_o there_o be_v none_o then_o let_v we_o go_v to_o he_o and_o say_v thou_o god_n of_o comfort_n if_o thou_o do_v not_o comfort_v none_o can_v comfort_v if_o thou_o help_v not_o none_o can_v help_v and_o then_o he_o will_v help_v and_o help_v strong_o it_o be_v necessary_a to_o look_v to_o god_n what_o ever_o the_o mean_n be_v it_o be_v he_o that_o comfort_v by_o they_o therefore_o let_v he_o have_v the_o praise_n if_o we_o have_v any_o friend_n any_o comfort_n of_o the_o outward_a man_n or_o any_o solace_n of_o the_o inward_a man_n by_o seasonable_a speech_n etc._n etc._n droop_v and_o disconsolat_o and_o deadly_a to_o have_v flat_a and_o dead_a spirit_n what_o be_v this_o beseem_v a_o christian_n that_o be_v in_o covenant_n with_o god_n that_o be_v the_o god_n of_o comfort_n and_o that_o answer_v his_o title_n in_o deal_v with_o his_o child_n that_o be_v ready_a to_o comfort_v they_o in_o all_o tribulation_n what_o if_o particular_a comfort_n be_v take_v from_o thou_o be_v there_o not_o a_o god_n of_o comfort_n leave_v he_o have_v not_o take_v away_o himself_o what_o if_o thou_o be_v restrain_v and_o shut_v up_o from_o other_o comfort_n can_v any_o shut_v up_o god_n spirit_n can_v any_o shut_v up_o god_n and_o our_o prayer_n be_v not_o this_o a_o comfort_n that_o we_o may_v go_v to_o god_n always_o and_o he_o be_v with_o we_o in_o all_o estate_n and_o especial_o let_v we_o look_v to_o our_o spiritual_a grievance_n and_o malady_n sin_n for_o sin_n be_v the_o cause_n of_o all_o other_o comfort_n evil_n therefore_o it_o be_v the_o worst_a evil_n and_o sin_n make_v we_o loathe_v of_o god_n the_o fountain_n of_o good_a it_o drive_v we_o from_o he_o when_o other_o evil_n drive_v we_o to_o from_o he_o and_o therefore_o it_o be_v the_o worst_a evil_n in_o that_o sense_n too_o sin_n again_o in_o the_o three_o place_n look_v to_o the_o discomfort_n of_o sin_n especial_o in_o the_o discomfort_n of_o
conscience_n of_o those_o that_o be_v awaken_v and_o satan_n use_v that_o as_o a_o mean_n to_o despair_v in_o every_o cross_n therefore_o let_v we_o search_v and_o try_v our_o soul_n for_o our_o sin_n for_o our_o chief_a discomfort_n be_v from_o sin_n for_o alas_o what_o be_v all_o other_o comfort_n and_o what_o be_v all_o other_o discomfort_n if_o a_o man_n conscience_n be_v quiet_a what_o be_v all_o discomfort_n and_o if_o conscience_n be_v on_o the_o rack_n what_o be_v all_o comfort_n the_o disquiet_n and_o vexation_n of_o sin_n be_v the_o great_a of_o all_o because_o than_o we_o have_v this_o case_n remember_v that_o god_n do_v so_o far_o prevent_v objection_n in_o this_o kind_n sin_n from_o the_o accusation_n of_o conscience_n that_o he_o reason_n that_o he_o will_v comfort_v we_o from_o that_o that_o cöscience_n reason_n against_o comfort_n he_o do_v this_o in_o the_o heart_n of_o his_o child_n to_o who_o he_o mean_v to_o show_v mercy_n as_o we_o see_v in_o the_o poor_a publi_fw-la lord_n be_v merciful_a to_o i_o a_o sinner_n say_v he_o god_n teach_v he_o that_o reason_n nature_n will_v have_v teach_v he_o to_o reason_n as_o peter_n do_v lord_n depart_v from_o i_o and_o grace_n when_o thy_o conscience_n shall_v be_v awaken_v with_o the_o sense_n of_o sin_n and_o satan_n shall_v use_v that_o as_o a_o argument_n to_o draw_v thou_o from_o god_n consider_v the_o
