ground_n do_v not_o sink_v underthem_fw-mi and_o yet_o they_o carry_v themselves_o as_o if_o they_o only_o be_v alive_a again_o if_o we_o be_v all_o dead_a by_o nature_n man_n and_o there_o ought_v to_o be_v a_o separation_n of_o the_o live_n from_o the_o dead_a let_v we_o take_v heed_n in_o our_o amity_n and_o society_n that_o we_o converse_v not_o with_o natural_a man_n too_o much_o that_o soul_n together_o we_o be_v tyrant_n to_o our_o own_o soul_n we_o wrong_v our_o soul_n to_o join_v with_o dead_a person_n who_o will_v converse_v with_o dead_a course_n and_o corpse_n the_o very_a creature_n startle_v at_o the_o sight_n of_o a_o dead_a body_n nature_n startle_v at_o that_o that_o be_v dead_a if_o we_o have_v the_o life_n of_o grace_n further_a than_o the_o necessity_n of_o civil_a conversation_n and_o the_o hope_n of_o better_v they_o force_v it_o upon_o we_o we_o will_v have_v no_o society_n with_o those_o that_o we_o see_v be_v in_o the_o state_n of_o nature_n what_o issue_v from_o they_o but_o stench_n eye_n full_a of_o adultery_n nothing_o that_o be_v please_a can_v come_v from_o they_o nothing_o can_v come_v from_o all_o their_o sense_n but_o rottenness_n and_o stench_n what_o comfort_n can_v a_o man_n that_o love_v his_o own_o soul_n and_o have_v any_o desire_n to_o be_v save_v have_v by_o intimate_a converse_n with_o such_o person_n let_v they_o have_v never_o so_o good_a part_n they_o hurt_v more_o one_o way_n than_o they_o do_v good_a another_o you_o see_v we_o be_v all_o dead_a by_o nature_n and_o what_o this_o death_n be_v object_n but_o you_o will_v say_v there_o be_v a_o difference_n between_o natural_a death_n and_o spiritual_a death_n for_o in_o natural_a bodily_a death_n there_o be_v no_o move_n but_o in_o this_o spiritual_a death_n and_o civil_a thing_n must_v needs_o be_v perish_v also_o and_o to_o say_v no_o more_o the_o very_a knowledge_n the_o speculative_a and_o contemplative_a knowledge_n of_o religious_a thing_n if_o we_o have_v only_o the_o knowledge_n of_o the_o thing_n in_o we_o and_o be_v not_o turn_v into_o the_o thing_n we_o know_v be_v a_o perish_a thing_n the_o truth_n of_o god_n indeed_o be_v the_o food_n of_o the_o soul_n but_o unless_o the_o goodness_n of_o those_o truth_n be_v the_o food_n of_o the_o will_n and_o affection_n unless_o we_o be_v mould_v and_o fashion_v into_o the_o very_a form_n of_o those_o truth_n unless_o we_o be_v frame_v to_o a_o love_n and_o like_n of_o that_o which_o we_o know_v that_o those_o truth_n be_v root_v and_o plant_v in_o we_o it_o be_v food_n that_o perish_v in_o a_o religious_a discourse_n in_o preach_v all_o your_o ornament_n beside_o that_o which_o quicken_v and_o strengthen_v the_o soul_n to_o holy_a duty_n be_v food_n that_o perish_v and_o your_o hear_n if_o it_o be_v only_o to_o hear_v witty_a sentence_n and_o turn_n of_o speech_n without_o regard_n to_o the_o truth_n itself_o be_v food_n that_o perish_v thus_o you_o see_v what_o a_o great_a latitude_n this_o food_n that_o perish_v have_v in_o christ_n meaning_n now_o our_o bless_a saviour_n take_v they_o off_o from_o labour_v for_o this_o by_o a_o strong_a argument_n will_v you_o have_v a_o great_a argument_n it_o be_v food_n that_o perish_v we_o do_v not_o regard_v the_o lustre_n of_o thing_n but_o their_o continuance_n why_o do_v we_o esteem_v of_o crystal_n more_o than_o glass_n because_o it_o continue_v flower_n have_v a_o goodly_a gloss_n but_o we_o regard_v they_o little_a because_o they_o be_v fresh_a in_o the_o morning_n and_o cast_v away_o at_o evening_n and_o so_o it_o be_v with_o all_o excellency_n unless_o it_o be_v grace_n or_o glory_n all_o flesh_n be_v grass_n and_o the_o excellent_a thing_n of_o nature_n wit_n and_o honour_n and_o learning_n and_o all_o though_o they_o be_v not_o as_o grass_n so_o common_a yet_o they_o be_v as_o the_o flower_n of_o the_o grass_n they_o be_v all_o fade_a and_o wither_v but_o the_o word_n of_o god_n endure_v for_o ever_o that_o be_v the_o grace_n and_o comfort_n that_o we_o get_v by_o the_o bless_a truth_n of_o god_n that_o endure_v for_o ever_o and_o it_o make_v we_o endure_v for_o ever_o but_o all_o other_o thing_n be_v food_n that_o perish_v and_o we_o perish_v in_o the_o use_n of_o they_o the_o world_n pass_v away_o and_o the_o concupiscence_n of_o it_o the_o world_n the_o thing_n lust_v after_o perish_v and_o in_o lust_a after_o the_o world_n the_o lust_n perish_v and_o we_o perish_v to_o in_o the_o pursuit_n of_o they_o nay_o which_o be_v worse_o the_o immoderate_a seek_v after_o these_o thing_n destroy_v we_o we_o eternal_o perish_v for_o by_o place_v our_o affection_n on_o earthly_a thing_n we_o turn_v earthly_a therefore_o in_o divinity_n we_o have_v our_o denomination_n from_o our_o affection_n we_o be_v call_v good_a or_o ill_o not_o from_o our_o knowledge_n but_o from_o our_o affection_n the_o devil_n know_v good_a but_o he_o be_v not_o good_a it_o be_v love_v and_o joy_v argument_n in_o the_o discovery_n of_o these_o earthly_a thing_n to_o be_v perish_v thing_n to_o enforce_v a_o dissuasion_n yet_o we_o can_v loosen_v our_o affection_n to_o they_o
hand_n strike_v no_o more_o when_o the_o child_n of_o god_n feel_v the_o smart_n of_o his_o judgement_n then_o they_o cry_v o_o no_o more_o the_o cry_n of_o the_o child_n prevail_v with_o the_o mother_n though_o it_o can_v speak_v ofttimes_o so_o when_o in_o the_o sense_n of_o sin_n and_o misery_n we_o cry_v to_o god_n we_o move_v his_o bowel_n with_o cry_v there_o be_v no_o question_n but_o the_o serious_a apprehension_n of_o danger_n feel_v do_v awaken_v the_o soul_n and_o stir_v it_o up_o it_o be_v so_o also_o in_o danger_n fear_v a_o danger_n fear_v with_o belief_n will_v work_v as_o
