understand_v the_o meaning_n of_o the_o knock_n the_o noise_n be_v many_o time_n of_o long_a continuance_n for_o many_o instead_o of_o study_v how_o to_o believe_v that_o they_o may_v attain_v all_o thing_n by_o the_o gospel_n do_v strive_v to_o relieve_v themselves_o by_o their_o own_o wisdom_n and_o work_n and_o in_o the_o end_n lose_v their_o labour_n and_o the_o gospel_n too_o therefore_o when_o we_o begin_v to_o hear_v a_o noise_n in_o the_o inward_a man_n and_o to_o fall_v into_o great_a fear_n either_o in_o regard_n of_o our_o sin_n and_o the_o everlasting_a judgement_n of_o god_n or_o by_o reason_n of_o some_o grievous_a temporal_a judgement_n which_o we_o apprehend_v to_o hang_v over_o our_o head_n let_v we_o be_v sure_o then_o that_o christ_n knock_v not_o to_o put_v we_o in_o fear_n for_o he_o affright_v no_o man_n but_o to_o take_v away_o our_o fear_n from_o we_o so_o that_o although_o it_o seem_v terrible_a to_o we_o upon_o the_o first_o apprehension_n of_o the_o from_o it_o by_o faith_n to_o christ_n who_o creat_v in_o thou_o a_o new_a opinion_n of_o the_o law_n which_o be_v to_o walk_v in_o the_o work_v thereof_o without_o dependence_n upon_o they_o which_o obedience_n paul_n teach_v thou_o to_o call_v a_o serve_v in_o newness_n of_o spirit_n and_o thus_o may_v thou_o easy_o give_v a_o answer_n to_o all_o opposer_n of_o the_o gospel_n moreover_o this_o must_v also_o comfort_v we_o when_o we_o be_v in_o great_a tribulation_n when_o we_o be_v in_o doubt_n of_o his_o care_n and_o providence_n in_o respect_n of_o outward_a thing_n or_o any_o way_n perplex_v with_o the_o fear_n of_o god_n wrath_n for_o then_o will_v the_o law_n begin_v to_o work_v in_o we_o after_o this_o manner_n these_o thing_n thou_o have_v do_v and_o thou_o can_v not_o deny_v it_o and_o therefore_o thy_o judgement_n be_v just_a and_o nothing_o shall_v appear_v before_o thy_o eye_n which_o way_n thy_o fear_n shall_v be_v prevent_v now_o in_o this_o condition_n if_o thou_o expounde_v the_o gospel_n according_a to_o the_o law_n then_o shall_v thy_o faith_n be_v overwhelm_v and_o only_o the_o law_n shall_v reign_v
