corruption_n be_v not_o all_o this_o because_o his_o countenance_n shine_v upon_o they_o well_o therefore_o may_v david_n pray_v for_o this_o above_o all_o earthly_a advantage_n whatsoever_o for_o if_o he_o do_v enjoy_v the_o face_n of_o god_n then_o there_o can_v any_o thing_n be_v deny_v he_o it_o be_v from_o this_o that_o he_o may_v press_v for_o forgiveness_n for_o holiness_n it_o be_v forth_o upon_o his_o soul_n six_o this_o act_n of_o god_n face_n in_o reference_n to_o the_o godly_a imply_v itself_o two_o way_n first_o in_o respect_n of_o outward_a and_o temporal_a mercy_n it_o be_v from_o this_o favour_n of_o god_n that_o his_o people_n have_v any_o outward_a comfort_n in_o mercy_n towards_o they_o for_o although_o wicked_a and_o ungodly_a man_n they_o may_v have_v abundance_n of_o these_o outward_a thing_n yet_o it_o do_v not_o come_v from_o god_n love_a kindness_n to_o they_o they_o have_v they_o in_o his_o anger_n and_o they_o use_v they_o to_o their_o own_o perdition_n but_o it_o be_v not_o thus_o with_o the_o godly_a every_o mercy_n though_o never_o so_o little_a come_v from_o the_o light_n of_o his_o face_n towards_o they_o so_o that_o though_o they_o have_v never_o so_o little_a if_o they_o have_v no_o more_o than_o lazarus_n crumb_n yea_o they_o can_v get_v they_o yet_o they_o be_v better_a than_o those_o who_o have_v the_o great_a portion_n of_o the_o world_n for_o these_o have_v the_o favour_n of_o god_n with_o it_o which_o make_v david_n say_v a_o little_a that_o the_o righteous_a have_v be_v better_a than_o great_a abundance_n of_o the_o wicked_a in_o this_o consideration_n as_o well_o as_o in_o other_o that_o he_o have_v it_o with_o the_o peace_n and_o favour_n of_o god_n he_o be_v the_o child_n and_o the_o friend_n of_o god_n in_o all_o this_o if_o he_o say_v he_o do_v not_o rejoice_v so_o much_o in_o dono_n vam_fw-la ab_fw-la te_fw-la dato_fw-la this_o be_v much_o more_o applicable_a to_o the_o people_n of_o god_n what_o they_o have_v they_o do_v not_o so_o much_o rejoice_v in_o it_o as_o that_o it_o come_v from_o the_o favour_n of_o god_n again_o the_o light_n of_o god_n countenance_n show_v itself_o in_o spiritual_a mercy_n and_o these_o be_v a_o certain_a and_o sure_a effect_n demonstrate_v of_o it_o whosoever_o can_v find_v the_o least_o degree_n of_o god_n grace_n in_o his_o heart_n that_o have_v the_o experience_n of_o any_o humiliation_n for_o sin_n of_o any_o heavenly-mindednesse_a though_o these_o thing_n be_v but_o smoke_v yet_o he_o may_v conclude_v that_o the_o light_n of_o god_n countenance_n be_v lift_v up_o upon_o he_o oh_o then_o whosoever_o thou_o be_v that_o find_v grace_n in_o thy_o soul_n rejoice_v not_o so_o much_o in_o that_o as_o of_o what_o it_o be_v a_o sign_n of_o what_o it_o do_v so_o palpable_o demonstrate_v alas_o even_o our_o very_a grace_n as_o they_o be_v inherent_a in_o we_o can_v afford_v we_o little_a comfort_n in_o themselves_o for_o they_o be_v subject_a to_o many_o imperfection_n and_o weakness_n we_o have_v many_o sigh_n and_o discouragement_n because_o of_o they_o only_o as_o they_o be_v evidence_n and_o demonstration_n of_o god_n favour_n that_o from_o they_o we_o may_v certain_o conclude_v the_o face_n of_o god_n shine_v upon_o we_o so_o they_o afford_v unspeakable_a joy_n and_o therefore_o this_o be_v one_o reason_n why_o a_o man_n may_v more_o rejoice_v in_o the_o least_o degree_n of_o grace_n discover_v in_o himself_o then_o in_o the_o great_a outward_a mercy_n whatsoever_o for_o we_o may_v have_v the_o wealth_n of_o solomon_n the_o long_a life_n of_o methusalem_n and_o yet_o for_o all_o that_o have_v not_o the_o least_o of_o god_n love_a kindness_n to_o we_o but_o on_o the_o other_o side_n though_o afflict_a though_o persecute_v though_o oppose_v though_o shut_v up_o in_o dark_a dungeon_n yet_o the_o discovery_n of_o grace_n within_o we_o do_v make_v we_o to_o conclude_v that_o the_o gracious_a eye_n of_o god_n be_v upon_o we_o so_o then_o it_o be_v the_o light_n of_o god_n countenance_n that_o be_v the_o efficacious_a cause_n of_o all_o the_o mercy_n we_o do_v enjoy_v as_o christ_n when_o he_o look_v that_o knowledge_n which_o he_o give_v of_o he_o and_o indeed_o though_o the_o face_n of_o god_n do_v shine_v upon_o a_o man_n yet_o if_o he_o be_v blind_a or_o in_o sad_a darkness_n of_o heart_n that_o he_o be_v not_o able_a to_o behold_v it_o then_o it_o be_v all_o one_o to_o he_o as_o if_o do_v not_o shine_v at_o all_o so_o that_o david_n pray_v that_o he_o may_v have_v the_o knowledge_n and_o sense_n of_o this_o upon_o the_o soul_n solomon_n say_v l●ght_n be_v sweet_a but_o it_o be_v to_o those_o that_o do_v behold_v it_o the_o dark_a ●ight_n and_o day_n be_v
