thing_n temporal_a be_v contain_v for_o without_o peace_n we_o can_v enjoy_v they_o and_o this_o be_v the_o prerogative_n of_o man_n above_o all_o visible_a creature_n that_o the_o fruit_n which_o other_o such_o creature_n do_v bring_v forth_o they_o do_v not_o bring_v it_o forth_o unto_o themselves_o but_o unto_o man_n and_o for_o his_o use_n either_o mediate_o or_o immediate_o the_o field_n yearly_o bring_v forth_o grass_n or_o other_o wild_a herb_n for_o the_o food_n of_o other_o live_a creature_n but_o even_o those_o creature_n with_o their_o fruit_n or_o increase_n serve_v for_o the_o use_n of_o man_n quicquid_fw-la acquirunt_fw-la acquirunt_fw-la domino_fw-la the_o sheep_n be_v nourish_v by_o the_o grass_n of_o the_o field_n yield_v his_o yearly_a fleece_n not_o so_o much_o for_o his_o own_o use_n as_o for_o the_o use_n of_o man_n the_o bee_n in_o summer_n gather_v honey_n but_o man_n be_v principal_a partaker_n of_o the_o sweetness_n of_o it_o these_o and_o other_o like_o sensitive_a creature_n how_o much_o soever_o they_o multiply_v and_o increase_v be_v never_o their_o own_o but_o their_o owner_n that_o be_v some_o one_o or_o other_o man_n yet_o not_o their_o owner_n unless_o it_o be_v in_o time_n of_o civil_a peace_n contention_n whether_o it_o be_v by_o open_a hostility_n of_o war_n or_o by_o course_n of_o law_n always_o deprive_v man_n of_o the_o fruition_n or_o enjoyment_n of_o those_o good_a thing_n which_o be_v their_o own_o though_o not_o always_o of_o the_o possession_n of_o they_o by_o peace_n only_o we_o enjoy_v those_o thing_n which_o be_v our_o own_o by_o right_a of_o title_n and_o possession_n so_o that_o civil_a or_o temporal_a peace_n be_v the_o only_a nurse_n mother_n of_o civil_a or_o temporal_a joy_n or_o gladness_n 8._o but_o albeit_o every_o one_o the_o mean_a among_o we_o can_v not_o only_o quiet_o possess_v but_o peaceable_o enjoy_v this_o whole_a visible_a world_n such_o as_o it_o be_v or_o another_o as_o great_a as_o this_o be_v and_o all_o the_o good_a thing_n contain_v in_o they_o yet_o as_o our_o saviour_n tell_v we_o our_o life_n do_v not_o consist_v in_o these_o and_o what_o gain_n or_o profit_n can_v there_o be_v in_o possess_v the_o whole_a world_n in_o enjoy_v all_o the_o good_a thing_n contain_v in_o it_o if_o we_o shall_v lose_v the_o enjoyment_n or_o possession_n of_o our_o own_o soul_n to_o possess_v and_o enjoy_v the_o fruit_n of_o all_o other_o creature_n labour_n be_v the_o prerogative_n of_o man_n the_o only_a remainder_n of_o that_o dominion_n which_o the_o lord_n give_v he_o over_o all_o other_o creature_n in_o his_o first_o creation_n but_o to_o enjoy_v himself_o be_v man_n peculiar_a and_o be_v the_o effect_n of_o his_o reconciliation_n to_o his_o god_n and_o the_o well_o spring_n of_o true_a joy_n other_o creature_n may_v by_o man_n permission_n reap_v the_o fruit_n of_o their_o own_o labour_n as_o the_o bee_n in_o winter_n may_v eat_v the_o honey_n which_o it_o make_v in_o the_o summer_n though_o perhaps_o not_o so_o sweet_a unto_o itself_o as_o it_o be_v unto_o man_n for_o who_o use_n and_o service_n he_o unwitting_o make_v it_o but_o no_o visible_a creature_n beside_o man_n can_v possible_o enjoy_v itself_o or_o its_o own_o soul_n and_o faculty_n sense_n and_o feel_v many_o other_o creature_n beside_o man_n have_v sed_fw-la non_fw-la sentiunt_fw-la se_fw-la sentire_fw-la the_o fowl_n of_o the_o air_n the_o fish_n of_o the_o sea_n the_o beast_n of_o the_o field_n and_o the_o bee_n which_o best_o resemble_v man_n as_o he_o be_v a_o sociable_a creature_n do_v respective_o at_o least_o hear_v and_o see_v feel_v and_o taste_v but_o yet_o have_v no_o true_a sense_n or_o estimate_n of_o their_o own_o sense_n as_o wherein_o they_o exceed_v grass_n tree_n or_o vegetable_n or_o wherein_o they_o come_v short_a of_o man_n so_o that_o man_n only_o be_v capable_a of_o enjoy_v himself_o and_o his_o own_o soul_n and_o faculty_n and_o yet_o not_o qualify_v for_o enjoy_v himself_o and_o his_o own_o faculty_n until_o the_o former_a peace_n the_o peace_n of_o conscience_n be_v in_o some_o god_n measure_n wrought_v in_o his_o heart_n his_o sensitive_a affection_n desire_n and_o passion_n must_v be_v first_o subject_v to_o reason_n and_o conscience_n his_o reason_n his_o conscience_n and_o spirit_n must_v be_v subject_v unto_o the_o spirit_n of_o god_n before_o he_o can_v possess_v his_o soul_n in_o patience_n and_o he_o must_v possess_v his_o soul_n with_o patience_n before_o he_o can_v taste_v of_o that_o joy_n which_o be_v in_o the_o holy_a ghost_n before_o he_o can_v bring_v forth_o the_o fruit_n of_o holiness_n who_o end_n be_v everlasting_a life_n the_o taste_n of_o this_o fruit_n or_o joy_n be_v the_o only_a pledge_n or_o assurance_n of_o that_o endless_a joy_n which_o be_v prepare_v for_o such_o as_o love_n god_n in_o heaven_n 9_o the_o vine_n bring_v forth_o much_o pleasant_a fruit_n so_o do_v the_o tree_n of_o the_o garden_n but_o they_o enjoy_v it_o not_o when_o it_o be_v ripe_a it_o fall_v from_o they_o or_o their_o owner_n reap_v it_o but_o this_o joy_n which_o amount_v from_o the_o quiet_a or_o peaceable_a possession_n of_o our_o own_o soul_n it_o grow_v within_o we_o it_o ripen_v within_o we_o it_o multiply_v and_o it_o sweeten_v within_o we_o no_o man_n can_v and_o god_n will_v not_o take_v this_o joy_n from_o we_o how_o fruitful_a soever_o we_o may_v be_v yet_o we_o be_v but_o unprofitable_a servant_n less_o profitable_a to_o our_o lord_n and_o owner_n than_o the_o tree_n of_o the_o garden_n or_o forrest_n be_v to_o we_o yet_o how_o unprofitable_a soever_o we_o be_v to_o he_o he_o continue_v most_o gracious_a unto_o we_o and_o permit_v we_o to_o reap_v and_o enjoy_v the_o fruit_n of_o all_o these_o good_a thing_n which_o he_o himself_o alone_o do_v sow_v and_o plant_v do_v water_n and_o cherish_v and_o give_v increase_v unto_o within_o our_o heart_n and_o soul_n be_v it_o possible_a for_o the_o husbandman_n or_o vine-dresser_n so_o to_o infuse_v the_o life_n
