only_o of_o charity_n but_o of_o opinion_n and_o judgement_n and_o that_o not_o only_o in_o fundamental_o in_o which_o as_o i_o say_v all_o the_o factious_a corinthian_n or_o most_o of_o they_o accord_v but_o other_o beneficial_a truth_n which_o union_n how_o can_v so_o many_o judgement_n independent_a of_o one_o another_o attain_v but_o by_o all_o of_o they_o retain_v the_o same_o doctrine_n of_o their_o pastor_n or_o pastor_n 4_o if_o these_o point_n wherein_o the_o reform_v recede_v from_o the_o authority_n of_o superior_a council_n be_v not_o very_o necessary_a though_o not_o fundamental_a how_o can_v a_o separation_n for_o they_o be_v justify_v but_o if_o necessary_a why_o shall_v we_o say_v that_o god_n require_v not_o a_o unity_n of_o faith_n in_o they_o 5_o again_o as_o faith_n and_o charity_n secure_v not_o our_o salvation_n if_o we_o be_v guilty_a of_o some_o other_o vice_n adultery_n &c_n &c_n so_o they_o do_v not_o secure_v it_o if_o there_o be_v any_o denial_n of_o obedience_n where_o it_o be_v due_a especial_o to_o the_o church_n disobedience_n towards_o who_o be_v in_o a_o more_o special_a manner_n disobedience_n to_o christ_n and_o to_o god_n himself_o and_o why_o may_v not_o this_o then_o endanger_v we_o if_o god_n have_v provide_v teacher_n to_o keep_v we_o in_o the_o same_o judgement_n and_o we_o to_o the_o great_a hurt_n both_o of_o the_o church_n and_o of_o ourselves_o too_o by_o these_o division_n will_v every_o one_o follow_v his_o own_o judgement_n especial_o since_o
reason_n or_o judgement_n may_v make_v use_n of_o the_o one_o for_o its_o guide_n as_o well_o as_o the_o other_o and_o when_o there_o seem_v contradiction_n against_o the_o other_o it_o seem_v much_o more_o easy_a by_o our_o private_a understanding_n to_o apprehend_v the_o council_n decision_n than_o to_o apprehend_v the_o sense_n of_o scripture_n in_o such_o point_n as_o the_o council_n decide_v and_o many_o may_v learn_v for_o example_n the_o orthodox_n tenet_n concern_v the_o trinity_n out_o of_o the_o athanasian_n creed_n that_o can_v not_o learn_v they_o out_o of_o scripture_n without_o mistake_v in_o some_o of_o they_o for_o though_o it_o be_v true_a that_o a_o text_n of_o scripture_n may_v be_v as_o plain_a as_o any_o decree_n of_o a_o council_n and_o that_o as_o we_o may_v judge_v what_o be_v the_o sense_n and_o meaning_n of_o such_o a_o decree_n so_o we_o may_v also_o of_o such_o a_o place_n of_o scripture_n yet_o it_o may_v be_v presume_v that_o none_o of_o these_o plain_a scripture_n will_v ever_o be_v find_v opposite_a to_o the_o decree_n of_o such_o council_n for_o if_o the_o place_n be_v so_o plain_a and_o intelligible_a to_o we_o sure_o so_o it_o will_v have_v be_v to_o so_o learned_a and_o numerous_a a_o council_n as_o well_o as_o to_o a_o private_a judgement_n again_o what_o be_v say_v in_o scripture_n concord_v with_o the_o decree_n of_o council_n yet_o it_o may_v be_v presume_v be_v not_o there_o every_o way_n consider_v the_o counterpoise_n of_o other_o scripture-text_n so_o plain_o say_v else_o such_o conciliary_a decision_n be_v vain_a and_o we_o mistake_v scripture_n and_o the_o former_a church_n yourselves_o and_o why_o may_v i_o not_o say_v again_o to_o you_o suppose_v that_o she_o err_v in_o fundamental_o where_o be_v you_o that_o in_o these_o do_v follow_v her_o judgement_n yes_o but_o the_o fundamental_o she_o direct_v i_o in_o be_v more_o plain_o set_v down_o in_o scripture_n well_o then_o since_o you_o may_v not_o judge_n against_o she_o in_o the_o plain_a may_v you_o in_o other_o thing_n less_o plain_a but_o say_v you_o our_o saviour_n have_v promise_v in_o these_o she_o shall_v not_o err_v then_o you_o need_v not_o compare_v scripture_n and_o council_n than_o to_o those_o who_o only_o hearken_v to_o their_o pastor_n and_o upon_o the_o same_o evidence_n make_v to_o many_o god_n give_v a_o strong_a adherence_n to_o such_o a_o truth_n to_o one_o than_o to_o another_o either_o either_o from_o the_o energy_n of_o the_o spirit_n through_o which_o many_o can_v die_v for_o christ_n that_o can_v well_o dispute_v for_o he_o or_o also_o also_o from_o a_o natural_a more_o passionate_a temper_n or_o or_o from_o hide_v from_o they_o contrary_a verisimility_n and_o and_o from_o ignorance_n of_o the_o weapon_n of_o error_n etc._n etc._n so_o the_o unlearned_a many_o time_n believe_v and_o adhere_v to_o a_o truth_n more_o strong_o through_o ignorance_n of_o any_o argument_n to_o the_o contrary_a than_o the_o learned_a do_v to_o the_o same_o through_o reason_n assault_v with_o many_o doubt_n and_o a_o small_a argument_n to_o a_o weak_a understanding_n beget_v a_o more_o firm_a credence_n than_o a_o strong_a to_o the_o learned_a so_o a_o true_a believer_n may_v be_v less_o confident_a through_o a_o rational_a persuasion_n in_o his_o faith_n than_o another_o through_o the_o violence_n of_o a_o upon_o which_o they_o be_v ground_v may_v be_v fallible_a or_o not_o prove_v such_o conclusion_n a_o private_a man_n then_o in_o some_o thing_n may_v be_v infallible_o certain_a certain_a but_o
