this_o sense_n alone_o therefore_o as_o catholic_n that_o she_o confine_v both_o the_o authority_n and_o divinity_n of_o the_o scripture_n to_o and_o that_o also_o entire_o so_o she_o do_v this_o in_o she_o own_o more_o than_o ordinary_a judgement_n and_o prudence_n in_o regard_n she_o be_v sure_a that_o this_o sense_n will_v never_o fail_v she_o but_o will_v always_o be_v ready_a to_o abett_v whatever_o shall_v upon_o any_o occasion_n be_v determine_v by_o she_o because_o this_o sense_n require_v no_o deep_a reason_n nor_o any_o firm_a bottom_n or_o ground_n at_o any_o time_n for_o it_o grammar_n of_o the_o scripture_n at_o least_o as_o to_o the_o certainty_n truth_n or_o infallibility_n of_o it_o we_o may_v easy_o have_v a_o view_n of_o several_a horrible_a absurdity_n contradiction_n and_o indeed_o impiety_n that_o she_o be_v by_o this_o mean_v force_v and_o necessitate_v to_o fall_v into_o of_o which_o we_o shall_v now_o mention_v a_o few_o particular_n for_o first_o as_o it_o be_v matter_n of_o fact_n which_o be_v the_o most_o infallible_a evidence_n in_o the_o world_n that_o all_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n do_v depend_v sole_o upon_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o say_a church_n so_o it_o be_v matter_n of_o fact_n equal_o that_o both_o the_o say_a doctrine_n and_o the_o say_a authority_n itself_o which_o uphold_v the_o say_a doctrine_n do_v depend_v upon_o the_o catholic_n sense_n of_o the_o scripture_n for_o the_o same_o reason_n therefore_o it_o be_v even_o from_o the_o strictness_n of_o the_o connexion_n and_o mutual_a dependence_n of_o these_o three_o one_o upon_o another_o that_o as_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n must_v necessary_o be_v all_o of_o they_o true_a and_o all_o of_o they_o divine_a if_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o say_a church_n be_v altogether_o true_a and_o altogether_o divine_a so_o also_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n must_v be_v unquestionable_o divine_a if_o the_o catholic_n sense_n of_o the_o scripture_n upon_o which_o it_o be_v alone_o build_v be_v absolute_o divine_a and_o free_a from_o all_o possibility_n of_o error_n and_o consequent_o then_o as_o the_o sure_a proof_n that_o we_o can_v possible_o have_v of_o the_o divinity_n of_o all_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o say_a church_n do_v lie_v in_o the_o proof_n the_o divine_a authority_n of_o the_o say_a church_n and_o in_o the_o sureness_n of_o it_o so_o the_o sure_a proof_n of_o this_o do_v lie_v in_o the_o proof_n of_o the_o catholic_n sense_n of_o the_o scripture_n viz._n in_o the_o proof_n that_o this_o catholic_n sense_n be_v both_o divine_a and_o infallible_a and_o free_a from_o all_o manner_n of_o error_n imaginable_a for_o it_o be_v this_o sense_n alone_o that_o give_v be_v to_o the_o say_a authority_n in_o as_o much_o then_o as_o it_o be_v strong_o allege_v that_o the_o catholic_n sense_n can_v possible_o but_o be_v divine_a infallible_a and_o free_a from_o all_o manner_n of_o error_n the_o authority_n of_o the_o say_a church_n therefore_o must_v necessary_o be_v divine_a infallible_a and_o free_a from_o all_o manner_n of_o error_n and_o therefore_o it_o be_v impossible_a but_o the_o doctrine_n which_o be_v teach_v by_o the_o say_a church_n must_v be_v such_o also_o that_o be_v they_o must_v be_v divine_a infallible_a and_o free_a from_o all_o error_n so_o then_o these_o three_o be_v and_o must_v be_v all_o of_o they_o divine_a alike_o viz_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n and_o the_o authority_n of_o the_o shall_v here_o show_v how_o this_o be_v by_o she_o clear_v to_o evidence_n then_o the_o truth_n of_o the_o catholic_n sense_n of_o the_o scripture_n how_o infallible_a and_o unquestionable_a it_o be_v and_o to_o manifest_v not_o only_o the_o necessity_n but_o the_o absoluteness_n of_o its_o divinity_n we_o need_v not_o much_o more_o than_o one_o reason_n because_o this_o do_v of_o itself_o upon_o the_o matter_n amount_v to_o a_o demonstration_n which_o be_v that_o there_o be_v nothing_o more_o clear_a or_o more_o certain_a than_o that_o the_o say_a catholic_n since_o neither_o real_o be_v the_o sense_n of_o the_o scripture_n nor_o real_o be_v not_o nor_o any_o thing_n more_o certain_a than_o that_o the_o say_a catholic_n sense_n be_v both_o that_o be_v to_o say_v both_o it_o be_v and_o it_o be_v not_o the_o sense_n of_o the_o scripture_n and_o that_o we_o may_v be_v yet_o the_o more_o full_o and_o distinct_o instruct_v in_o the_o nature_n of_o this_o mystery_n and_o of_o the_o strangeness_n of_o it_o we_o be_v to_o know_v that_o the_o extraordinary_a wonderful_a and_o peculiar_a power_n of_o this_o catholic_n sense_n lie_v in_o the_o singular_a relation_n which_o it_o to_o the_o universal_a church_n and_o to_o the_o scripture_n as_o it_o be_v the_o sense_n of_o neither_o of_o they_o proper_o and_o entire_o and_o yet_o be_v the_o sense_n of_o both_o of_o they_o at_o one_o and_o the_o same_o time_n for_o though_o this_o catholic_n sense_n can_v be_v have_v without_o the_o scripture_n and_o though_o it_o be_v and_o must_v necessary_o be_v give_v therefore_o to_o the_o say_a church_n by_o the_o scripture_n because_o it_o be_v the_o scripture_n only_o that_o the_o say_a church_n do_v always_o refer_v to_o when_o it_o do_v at_o any_o time_n cite_v or_o allege_v the_o say_a sense_n as_o it_o be_v divine_a and_o consequent_o though_o without_o the_o say_a scripture_n it_o have_v be_v whole_o impossible_a that_o the_o say_a church_n shall_v either_o have_v challenge_v or_o lay_v claim_n to_o any_o truth_n that_o have_v be_v authoritative_a or_o divine_a notwithstanding_o this_o the_o say_a catholic_n since_o both_o be_v give_v and_o must_v necessary_o be_v give_v to_o the_o scripture_n by_o the_o say_a church_n because_o without_o the_o say_a church_n it_o will_v be_v impossible_a that_o this_o sense_n shall_v ever_o be_v find_v out_o in_o the_o scripture_n itself_o in_o regard_n nothing_o be_v more_o certain_a than_o that_o the_o scripture_n have_v of_o itself_o proper_o no_o sense_n at_o all_o at_o lest_o none_o that_o be_v true_a certain_a and_o infallible_a but_o as_o this_o be_v by_o the_o universal_a church_n and_o by_o the_o prudent_a care_n and_o foresight_n of_o it_o bestow_v upon_o it_o and_o so_o we_o must_v unavoidable_o grant_v that_o though_o the_o catholic_n sense_n be_v but_o one_o yet_o this_o one_o sense_n be_v both_o create_v by_o the_o church_n for_o the_o scripture_n and_o create_v by_o the_o scripture_n for_o the_o church_n which_o be_v a_o very_a rare_a and_o unusual_a sort_n of_o production_n and_o therefore_o it_o will_v follow_v also_o that_o if_o we_o regard_v the_o truth_n certainty_n and_o infallibility_n of_o this_o catholic_n sense_n it_o be_v whole_o and_o entire_o from_o the_o church_n because_o neither_o the_o authority_n proper_o of_o it_o nor_o its_o divinity_n do_v consist_v in_o its_o truth_n or_o in_o its_o certainty_n if_o we_o regard_v the_o divinity_n and_o authority_n of_o this_o catholic_n sense_n it_o be_v not_o only_o original_o but_o entire_o from_o the_o scripture_n because_o it_o may_v be_v divine_a though_o it_o have_v neither_o certainty_n nor_o infallibility_n in_o it_o at_o least_o as_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n tell_v we_o and_o consequent_o the_o say_a catholic_n sense_n consider_v as_o it_o be_v strict_o in_o the_o scripture_n have_v indeed_o both_o authority_n absolute_o in_o it_o and_o divinity_n but_o it_o neither_o have_v truth_n certainty_n nor_o infallibility_n but_o consider_v as_o it_o be_v strict_o in_o the_o church_n it_o have_v both_o truth_n certainty_n and_o infallibility_n absolute_o in_o it_o but_o it_o have_v not_o for_o all_o this_o any_o thing_n of_o divinity_n or_o authority_n for_o this_o it_o must_v borrow_v from_o the_o name_n of_o the_o scripture_n so_o that_o it_o be_v plain_a that_o the_o say_a catholic_n sense_n be_v neither_o the_o sense_n of_o the_o church_n proper_o and_o entire_o nor_o the_o sense_n of_o the_o scripture_n proper_o and_o entire_o and_o yet_o that_o it_o be_v the_o sense_n of_o both_o of_o they_o entire_o and_o the_o reason_n for_o this_o be_v also_o plain_a viz._n because_o according_a to_o the_o doctrine_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n the_o divinity_n of_o the_o catholic_n sense_n be_v one_o thing_n its_o truth_n and_o infallibility_n be_v quite_o another_o for_o though_o the_o church_n can_v give_v to_o the_o catholic_n sense_n be_v truth_n and_o infallibility_n entire_o yet_o she_o can_v give_v any_o part_n of_o its_o divinity_n and_o though_o the_o scripture_n can_v give_v to_o the_o catholic_n sense_n be_v whole_a divinity_n and_o consequent_o its_o authority_n entire_o yet_o it_o can_v of_o itself_o give_v it_o any_o thing_n of_o truth_n or_o any_o thing_n of_o infallibility_n but_o this_o it_o must_v have_v from_o the_o church_n so_o mystical_o be_v this_o catholic_n sense_n part_v and_o divide_v between_o both_o by_o which_o partition_n of_o the_o catholic_n sense_n which_o be_v strange_a we_o come_v to_o know_v another_o thing_n also_o which_o be_v as_o strange_a and_o which_o otherwise_o we_o shall_v never_o have_v be_v able_a to_o have_v find_v out_o viz._n that_o though_o the_o end_n of_o give_v the_o scripture_n be_v unquestionable_o for_o the_o enlighten_v rule_v and_o govern_v the_o church_n yet_o the_o end_n of_o set_v up_o the_o church_n be_v equal_o also_o for_o the_o enlighten_v rule_v and_o govern_v of_o the_o scripture_n which_o as_o it_o be_v a_o consequence_n that_o can_v no_o way_n be_v avoid_v by_o the_o rule_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n so_o it_o be_v as_o manifest_o absurd_a as_o all_o the_o rest_n second_o the_o divinity_n of_o the_o catholic_n sense_n with_o the_o necessity_n absolute_o of_o it_o will_v appear_v also_o yet_o the_o more_o clear_o if_o we_o shall_v consider_v that_o unless_o we_o do_v admit_v the_o church_n in_o the_o first_o place_n to_o be_v holy_a infallible_a and_o free_a from_o all_o manner_n of_o error_n imaginable_a it_o will_v and_o must_v be_v impossible_a that_o the_o catholic_n sense_n of_o the_o scripture_n shall_v be_v absolute_o true_a holy_a infallible_a and_o free_a from_o all_o error_n because_o the_o sense_n of_o the_o scripture_n become_v thus_o catholic_n holy_a infallible_a and_o true_a only_o as_o it_o be_v the_o sense_n of_o the_o catholic_n church_n first_o and_o as_o it_o be_v by_o this_o mean_v derive_v to_o the_o scripture_n itself_o and_o for_o any_o to_o seek_v a_o sense_n in_o the_o scripture_n therefore_o that_o be_v holy_a true_a infallible_a and_o free_a from_o all_o error_n alone_o by_o the_o scripture_n itself_o without_o the_o direction_n and_o assistance_n of_o the_o say_a catholic_n or_o universal_a church_n be_v manifest_o absurd_a both_o because_o the_o scripture_n have_v proper_o of_o itself_o no_o sense_n at_o all_o that_o be_v certain_a and_o because_o it_o be_v the_o immediate_a authority_n of_o the_o church_n only_o upon_o which_o the_o sense_n of_o the_o scripture_n so_o far_o as_o it_o be_v proper_o catholic_n infallible_a and_o absolute_o true_a be_v whole_o and_o entire_o build_v and_o yet_o on_o the_o contrary_a in_o regard_n it_o must_v be_v confess_v that_o the_o church_n can_v not_o possible_o have_v so_o much_o as_o either_o name_n or_o be_v be_v it_o not_o for_o the_o scripture_n itself_o and_o much_o less_o that_o it_o can_v have_v those_o privilege_n or_o that_o authority_n place_v in_o it_o which_o it_o challenge_v above_o all_o other_o for_o be_v holy_a true_a infallible_a and_o free_a from_o all_o manner_n of_o error_n unless_o we_o admit_v therefore_o the_o scripture_n in_o the_o first_o place_n to_o be_v original_o true_a holy_a and_o divine_a and_o therefore_o to_o contain_v all_o authority_n and_o truth_n prmitive_o in_o itself_o that_o be_v holy_a absolute_a and_o divine_a and_o that_o by_o reason_n of_o this_o its_o primitive_a sanctity_n divinity_n and_o truth_n it_o have_v a_o power_n simple_o and_o proper_o of_o its_o self_n to_o confer_v a_o divine_a right_n authority_n and_o infallibility_n to_o the_o church_n it_o will_v and_o must_v be_v impossible_a that_o the_o say_a church_n shall_v be_v any_o way_n impower_v or_o enable_v either_o to_o teach_v such_o doctrine_n as_o be_v certain_a true_a holy_a and_o divine_a and_o without_o any_o fallibility_n whatever_o or_o that_o it_o shall_v be_v able_a all_o these_o thing_n now_o mention_v be_v substantial_o true_a and_o capable_a to_o be_v clear_o understand_v by_o rational_a person_n and_o that_o they_o be_v consistent_a real_o one_o with_o another_o then_o it_o must_v be_v certain_a that_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n be_v both_o a_o true_a church_n and_o its_o doctrine_n be_v all_o certain_o and_o unquestionable_o true_a and_o all_o thing_n can_v be_v otherwise_o true_a or_o certain_a than_o as_o the_o several_a thing_n above_o mention_v be_v true_a or_o certain_a which_o be_v manifest_o absurd_a and_o utter_o false_a the_o horrible_a wickedness_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n further_o manifest_v the_o impiety_n and_o wickedness_n as_o well_o as_o absurdity_n of_o the_o church_n of_o rome_n in_o this_o invention_n of_o the_o catholic_n sense_n and_o in_o her_o set_n up_o of_o it_o will_v be_v evident_a also_o to_o any_o that_o will_v consider_v that_o even_o while_o she_o go_v about_o not_o only_o to_o corrupt_v but_o to_o defeat_v the_o scripture_n of_o its_o proper_a authority_n as_o a_o divine_a write_v by_o her_o deny_v that_o any_o sense_n be_v capable_a to_o be_v have_v from_o it_o but_o what_o the_o church_n only_o do_v give_v it_o and_o by_o deny_v therefore_o that_o the_o litteral_n or_o grammatical_a sense_n or_o construction_n of_o the_o scripture_n be_v in_o any_o place_n certain_a or_o at_o least_o not_o so_o certain_a as_o it_o may_v be_v say_v of_o its_o self_n to_o be_v simple_o absolute_o or_o infallible_o true_a or_o so_o certain_a that_o it_o be_v in_o any_o place_n sufficient_a to_o give_v a_o infallibility_n of_o truth_n to_o we_o she_o do_v no_o other_o than_o discover_v by_o all_o this_o what_o her_o drift_n be_v throughout_o all_o this_o device_n
