church_n which_o be_v already_o make_v concern_v they_o or_o the_o universality_n of_o their_o reception_n or_o the_o stress_n which_o be_v lay_v upon_o they_o which_o in_o all_o likelihood_n will_v prevail_v with_o such_o a_o general_n council_n if_o it_o have_v be_v assemble_v to_o give_v their_o suffrage_n for_o they_o §_o 21._o 2._o but_o though_o a_o reconciliation_n of_o the_o particular_n mollify_a art_n of_o interpretation_n can_v prevail_v with_o any_o unprejudiced_a person_n to_o believe_v that_o the_o sense_n real_o intend_v by_o they_o be_v reconcileable_a nor_o indeed_o have_v the_o romanist_n any_o reason_n to_o expect_v that_o we_o shall_v agree_v with_o they_o in_o all_o the_o particular_n define_v by_o they_o whilst_o we_o do_v not_o agree_v with_o they_o in_o acknowledge_v the_o credibility_n of_o their_o judge_n of_o controversy_n for_o antecedent_o to_o their_o be_v define_v they_o confess_v many_o of_o they_o so_o obscure_a as_o that_o they_o may_v pardonable_o be_v disbelieved_a and_o oppose_v and_o how_o can_v any_o wise_a man_n expect_v that_o all_o man_n shall_v be_v of_o one_o mind_n in_o so_o many_o instance_n of_o such_o a_o nature_n and_o yet_o even_o one_o unlawful_a condition_n of_o communion_n be_v alone_o sufficient_a to_o make_v their_o communion_n unlawful_a and_o the_o church_n irreconcilable_a §_o 22._o now_o that_o there_o be_v something_n for_o which_o their_o church_n herself_o be_v unavoidable_o concern_v wherein_o we_o have_v all_o the_o reason_n that_o can_v be_v desire_v to_o expect_v that_o she_o shall_v therefore_o that_o which_o inevitable_o harden_v they_o against_o all_o concession_n must_v consequent_o ruin_v all_o hope_n of_o a_o last_a reconciliation_n now_o this_o be_v do_v by_o their_o doctrine_n of_o infallibility_n and_o their_o own_o title_n to_o it_o this_o be_v it_o that_o make_v they_o presume_v to_o define_v such_o thing_n as_o themselves_o confess_v to_o be_v inevident_a antecedent_o to_o their_o own_o define_v they_o this_o make_v it_o impossible_a for_o they_o as_o long_o as_o they_o pretend_v to_o it_o to_o submit_v those_o thing_n as_o much_o as_o to_o a_o have_v reason_n to_o believe_v themselves_o so_o sensible_a since_o the_o great_a modern_a improvement_n of_o ecclesiastical_a learning_n as_o that_o they_o will_v not_o have_v introduce_v they_o if_o they_o have_v not_o find_v they_o already_o admit_v and_o think_v themselves_o oblige_v not_o to_o desert_v they_o nor_o to_o believe_v any_o evidence_n sufficient_a to_o prove_v they_o blame-worthy_a when_o they_o have_v once_o find_v they_o so_o admit_v and_o therefore_o it_o will_v concern_v all_o hearty_a wellwisher_n to_o catholic_n peace_n to_o lay_v out_o their_o zeal_n and_o industry_n principal_o to_o discredit_v this_o one_o doctrine_n which_o be_v so_o extreme_o pernicious_a to_o it_o §_o 23._o and_o in_o order_n hereunto_o i_o have_v endeavour_v to_o make_v it_o appear_v that_o the_o challenge_n of_o infallibility_n to_o their_o whole_a communion_n be_v true_o ground_v on_o a_o principle_n disclaim_v by_o considerable_a number_n of_o their_o communicant_n that_o be_v the_o pope_n absolute_a and_o unaccountable_a monarchy_n over_o the_o catholic_n church_n whence_o it_o will_v follow_v that_o though_o infallibility_n do_v indeed_o belong_v to_o the_o supreme_a representative_a of_o the_o catholic_n church_n diffusive_a yet_o they_o can_v lay_v no_o claim_n to_o it_o who_o deny_v his_o papal_a monarchy_n and_o therefore_o they_o who_o believe_v these_o promise_n of_o infallibility_n to_o have_v be_v original_o make_v only_o to_o the_o catholic_n church_n diffusive_a and_o withal_o deny_v this_o absolute_a monarchy_n of_o the_o pope_n can_v lay_v any_o better_a claim_n to_o this_o infallibility_n than_o any_o other_o part_n of_o the_o catholic_n church_n diffusive_a that_o be_v as_o great_a and_o as_o considerable_a as_o themselves_o but_o themselves_o confess_v church_n no_o less_o ample_a for_o extent_n and_o indeed_o more_o considerable_a for_o the_o multitude_n of_o apostolical_a see_v than_o their_o own_o to_o be_v so_o far_o from_o be_v infallible_a as_o that_o they_o believe_v they_o actual_o mistake_v even_o in_o matter_n of_o faith_n and_o that_o for_o several_a century_n together_o before_o the_o reformation_n and_o therefore_o all_o the_o authority_n which_o they_o can_v challenge_v on_o these_o principle_n be_v only_o a_o canonical_a one_o such_o as_o be_v due_a to_o particular_a provincial_n or_o national_a or_o patriarchal_a district_n which_o be_v on_o all_o side_n acknowledge_v to_o be_v fallible_a which_o will_v not_o only_o concern_v the_o council_n of_o trent_n but_o also_o all_o other_o council_n that_o be_v only_o occidental_a §_o 24._o now_o this_o concession_n alone_o that_o they_o be_v fallible_a will_v at_o least_o be_v sufficient_a to_o show_v that_o they_o can_v not_o think_v it_o
